Yeah, look, there aren't a ton of action sequences—it’s not some non-stop explosion fest—but when they do happen, they’re executed perfectly. 🙏

But honestly, I’m kind of dreading the sequel... I'm not really sure why they even felt the need to make one in the first place—sometimes you just leave well enough alone, you know? My fear is it'll just end up tarnishing the legacy of the original.
Really hoping I'm wrong about this one.

I gave Descent a 4/10; honestly, it was pretty rough and I was just counting the minutes until it ended. But The Cave? An easy 8/10 for me. It was actually great! It hits all the right notes for an adventure-action-horror flick... you get capable, interesting characters (Jack, Tyler, Top...), solid monsters, decent fights, wild stunts, and this claustrophobic vibe that isn't confusing—like, you actually know who is who and where they're heading. Throughout the film, they’re pushing through the cavern, but it never feels like déjà vu. One minute they’re in this massive hall, then a flooded tunnel, then a steep ledge, then an icy cliffside... you can tell they weren't just filming in some tiny 100sq ft set 👍, and the cave itself looks totally convincing—spectacular, even at times. It’s hard to believe any of this was shot in a studio because nothing felt artificial to me. The monster's origin is really intriguing too, and the ending caught me off guard in a good way. I’m still a little lost on what that V. S. S. F. thing meant, though, if anyone else caught it... 🙂 Highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun adventure movie! 👍

The movie? Honestly, just mindless garbage. It’s worth a single watch if you can find it on a rental service, $10 but paying for a theater ticket is way too much effort for this.
