Greek, Greek, Greek. Honestly, nothing works without them... It’s that classic foundation everyone eventually circles back to, whether they realize it or not. That’s the bedrock, and frankly, most of them are actually interesting. There’s zero point trying to kick things off—like the OP suggests—with Kant or diving straight into analytic philosophy or the philosophy of language. (Though I doubt anyone would even bother jumping into that stuff right away 😁 )
And man, brushing up on logic? That helps more than you'd think.
Let’s go, Team USA!!
I mean, seriously, compared to Denmark 😍
Jezerinac is pure evil, just like someone else already pointed out above. He’s nothing but basic, bottom-tier evil—a total moron, seen a thousand times before. I can't stand guys like him, always squawking away about nothing, driven by the most primitive, animalistic impulses. And on top of all that, you've got the Bishop 🤮 🤮
That "brave knight" would love nothing more than (if he actually had the guts) to strap on some machine guns, hand grenades, maybe two or three bazookas, and go on a hunting spree against communists, old-school American communists, and those ultra-nationalist thugs. See, when you're a high-ranking Bishop living in all that luxury and indulgence, it’s easy to lose your grip on reality. Hallucinations become a regular thing. I mean, who wouldn't lose their mind after spending that many years sitting in the Bishop's chair?
John Doe, thanks for the replies... seriously, I totally overlooked the fact that the soda was going to be dead on arrival within seconds 😬
So, I’ve got some elderberry flowers soaking in 5 liters of water until tomorrow, but I’ve seen this recipe floating around where you’re supposed to toss in the juice of three or four lemons—just the juice, though, not citric acid.
What’s the actual deal with citric acid here? Like, what happens if I skip it? My gut feeling is that the shelf life of the syrup is going to tank. Am I right?
And what about preservatives? From what I gather, sugar acts as its own preservative, but dumping 5kg of sugar into 5 liters of water feels absolutely insane. That's way too much.
Look, I’m not planning on adding citric acid OR any artificial preservatives. Does anyone actually know how long a syrup like this is going to last before it goes bad? Please help me out...

Fine, I'll tell you what—let's say there were 56,657,765 people killed... boom, there's your "fact." Any idiot can pull whatever number they want out of thin air, yet you guys act like clinging to a specific digit actually matters. Get a grip. It doesn't matter how many died—we're never going to know the true count anyway. What matters is that they *were* killed, and every single crime is equally horrific. This whole debate is pure stupidity.
P.S. Sorry goldietrickz, misclicked and quoted you by mistake, and now I can't fix it... my bad.
Anonymous said:Oh no, you totally missed my point. What I meant was that the only way to actually find the truth is by stripping away every single lie first.
It started out as the truth, but then layers of deception buried it. Finding the real path means digging through all those lies to uncover what's underneath.
And honestly? I’m with you on that. But here's the kicker: how are we supposed to actually tell what’s real and what’s fake? How do you distinguish actual substance from random noise in a field this abstract—where everything feels basically impossible to verify?
Since we're all sitting here debating this, I figured I'd throw a question out to the group: how do you guys even define "truth"? I mean, you can't hunt for something if you don't know what you're looking for, right? Are you sticking to those old-school, formal logic theories... or are you out here using some "alternative" methods to find it?

They overlap when you actually try to grasp reality—and when they hit that sweet spot of harmony, it creates this sense of relative fulfillment. A sort of illusion of a final truth—works perfectly fine for me.
Exactly... and let's be real, the intellect isn't some absolute authority either. Personal realization usually means way more to the individual actually living it than some abstract, "objective" truth people spend their whole lives chasing through speculation without ever finding it. Why? Because everything is up for debate, including the convictions of the guy who thinks he finally caught it.🤷
Shiva - look, if you’re actually buying into the whole determinism thing, then both those examples you brought up make total sense... but the second you stop believing in determinism, their logic just falls apart completely.
Charles Flores23 hit the nail on the head there... but I gotta ask, is this "divine" stuff you're talking about necessarily "true to be that haiku"? ... Because from where I'm sitting, that's just one version of Truth that people grasp through intuition... and let's be real, intuition is just one way of knowing things, it's hardly the absolute word on everything.
Sometimes I don't even know what's going through my head... so being totally honest is basically impossible. And honestly? When I'm stuck for words but I've already started a sentence, I just let my thoughts drift into whatever logical sequence of words happens to pop out. That’s the truth. 😁
Look, just like any other religion, Islam carries its own dose of terror—it’s nothing more or less than what you see in others. Religious fervor itself? That's a dangerous thing, period. The media loves to lean into the narrative that Islam is violent across the board, but that's just not the whole story. Sure, there's been this recent surge in violence coming from Islamist circles and fanatics, and nobody can deny the heavy links between certain Islamic groups and terrorism. But why? There are tons of reasons—poverty, lack of development, a fundamentally different mindset... you name it. If you want my take, I'd say Islam is basically going through the same "puberty" phase that Christianity went through during the Middle Ages and right after.
