Those H97 boards are just mediocre at best. You either spring for a decent motherboard or just grab an H81 for $103.

I put in 250 bucks. Whatever, let's just call it 250. I really need a new case anyway.

Can I get $100 for this?

Grilling isn't cheap. 😉

That’s exactly what I was thinking—overclocking and a GTX 750 Ti. Anything less than that just isn't worth the hassle.

Honestly, it’s not really worth sinking money into that rig unless you're planning to overclock the processor—then maybe you've got something.

Honestly? If I were you, I'd just upgrade the RAM and leave everything else alone.

People on this forum love to stretch the truth when it comes to numbers, so honestly, it’ll just sort itself out eventually. 😬

GPU - MSI R7 260 OC - $283.
CPU - G1820 - $90.
Motherboard - MSI H81 - $107.
PSU - XFX TS 430W - $100.
RAM - Kingston Hyper x Fury DDR3 4GB - $67.
HDD - Toshiba 1TB -$167.
Case - Zalman R1 - $117.

It was an absolute blast, I had such a great time. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

Just a heads-up for the newcomers if you're feeling brave enough to join us. We’re hanging out today—meeting up at Grand Central Terminal around 5:20 PM. See ya there! 🙂

for a card under $100 that can actually run new games. It doesn't
have to be maxed out settings, obviously.

My other specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz
4 GB RAM
EVGA 550 W1

Man, it’s definitely time for a new PC. 😉

Are you at the beach?

Also, just so we're clear—I'm not taking any gifts. 😁 It’s plenty if you just chip in 10-$5.00 for the group drinks. 😬

Hey everyone. 😁

So, it’s official—Carl Rivera43 and I have been planning this get-together for ages. Basically, we're looking to meet up on Saturday, July 25th at 5:00 PM in downtown Chicago, and then we can head wherever the group decides. Nothing is set in stone yet, so feel free to throw out some suggestions.

Anyway, mark your calendars: July 25th, Saturday—it's going to be a gathering. 😁

Thanks, talk soon. 🙂

PS. Carl Rivera43 — don't leave me hanging here.

Someone posted this photo on the NASCAR forum; it’s an image that’s stuck in a lot of our heads forever.

I found some random photo on Google, so now I've got Julian on my Facebook cover. It’s pretty ironic, though—before this, I had Paul Walker up there.

Rip Jules!

Seriously, thanks. 🙂 You really saved my skin here.

I'm gonna give this a shot and let you know how it goes.

Edit: I don't see an ATA option in here. It just shows AHCI and some IDE setting. No ATA.

So, back to square one. Looks like I'm getting totally screwed over here. Guess I'll just have to go grab a soldering iron after all.
