What exactly am I supposed to delete, what do I need to add, or which buttons should I be clicking to get everything looking right? Honestly, I’ve been scrolling through these forums reading one person say one thing and then another person saying the complete opposite, and it’s leaving me totally lost—nothing I try seems to work! Can someone just give me a straight answer, like a standard forum setup where you list the username and then the text right next to it? I’m seriously at my wit's end here. 😕 Thanks in advance 🙂
I hope you actually needed this answer, because I'll be annoyed about the wasted time if you didn't. 😁
It isn’t about being contrarian toward a colleague—for instance, I recently argued against penalizing someone for failing to use multi-quote. However, simply dropping links without context goes against the spirit of this forum, and it is one of the few minor infractions I actually bother to flag. If you're on your phone, just type a couple of sentences explaining what the link is about. It shouldn't be that difficult to format.
Posting a URL without any context is entirely pointless, especially when the link itself rarely even functions properly. As for the resonator support, I don't believe such posts belong on this forum.

Beyond that, I'd suggest adding rules against replying with nothing but an emoji—sometimes a single icon says enough. We also need to stop people from starting new threads when similar ones already exist; newcomers often don't grasp how a forum functions. There's probably more, but I can't think of anything else right now. Micromanaging isn't necessary; it doesn't improve the community.
Actually, I would just take what Desiree wrote and establish those as the core rules. They are sufficient. Everything else is optional.
Under the rules of certain subforums, take the US Legal System for example.
Someone introduced them, and everyone else just follows suit. 🤷
It seems foolish to insist on such rigid regulations. I’m exercising my discretion to ignore what strikes me as trivial nonsense. Ideally, this could be organized into a formal set of rules paired with a list of recommendations—guidelines that shouldn't carry penalties except in extreme cases.
@Jose Miller3, someone needs to sit down and seriously overhaul these rules. Believe me or not, this is what’s currently listed in the official guidelines, and you can't blame people for following them. 😉
Objectively speaking, posting three one-liners in three consecutive posts is eyesore. Whether a moderator chooses to merge them depends on their sense of aesthetics or how much free time they have, but it isn't necessary. The forum won't collapse if they aren't combined.

Damn money and this whole life thing.
There's still a tiny bit of hope left—just a sliver—that things might work out at the local Chase branch. But they see through everything; they'll see those three loans, all the overdrafts, the credit cards. After his paycheck hits, if there's even anything left, $133. It's not like his income stays steady.
Everyone else is just a predator looking for a handout...
His mother? Is she still alive? Considering he's already 61 years old . Kimberly Robinson2, you're either sharing your account with others—which is strictly against the rules—or you're trolling, or you're peddling some shady credit union. Stop it. 😉
If most of the post stays on topic but includes an insult, I’ll leave it up and issue a warning—it signals to everyone else that they can't just latch onto the penalized part, and it works quite well. If the post is mostly garbage, I'll delete the whole thing and let them try again. I never edit posts; that isn't how this works. 🙂
And you completely overlooked laptops 🙂? I have a Dell laptop with a 15.4-inch screen; it works fine, and I don't plan on replacing it until it dies. This means any image larger than 800 pixels distorts my monitor 😉
