How to run macOS on a non-Apple PC? in Software ·
Michael Alvarez93 said:Is it even possible to get macOS running on a non-Apple laptop? I mean, I know you can run Windows XP on an Apple machine if it’s got an Intel processor, so maybe the reverse works too? Does anyone actually know how to pull that off?

Maybe something like this? 😁

Why specifically "next generation killers"? 👎
They aren't exactly the first or the last to ever do it...
What about things like Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Rocky III, Rambo III, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Alien 3, Friday the 13th Part III, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, or Indiana Jones 3...? I mean, do we really want to keep listing them all day? 👎

Don't you dare come for my Die Hard with a Vengeance or Indiana Jones 3 🙂

I guess the real secret to sequels is just having the same crew behind them, and I'm not even talking about the actors, but more like the directors, producers, and writers.

For instance, Die Hard with a Vengeance had McTiernan back at the helm, so the movie turned out totally cool. But then the fourth one was directed by some random nobody, so who knows how that would turn out...

Speaking of McTiernan, look at what happens when you try to swap an actor for someone "better" but downgrade the director instead: if you take the amazing Love in Red October and swap the lead for a mediocre Alec Baldwin, you end up with three pretty bland, forgettable movies starring Harrison Ford (shoot, I don't even remember their names, and I can't be bothered to check IMDb)

Or just look at The Terminator—as long as it's James Cameron, it works, but that third installment probably should have just stayed buried somewhere where nobody could find it. 😬

And Spider-Man has been a total mess from the jump, though maybe that could've been fixed if James Cameron had stepped in like he was originally supposed to.
Running Windows XP on a SATA hard drive in Software ·
urbanotter5 said:Yeah, you got that right, I don't have a Floppy, not even a USB one. I've actually got another PC at home where I already grabbed NLite and all the drivers, so I guess I'm just wondering—like, step by step—what am I actually supposed to do here

since I didn't really wrap my head around what comes first—is it NLite, the drivers, or the Windows XP install disc? From what I gather, maybe I should put the drivers on the hard drive first, then run NLite, and then use that to handle the whole installation process. Is that right? Or am I totally off base?

Don't make things harder than they need to be, honestly. Just grab a Vista disc from someone; those usually know how to install themselves onto a SATA drive without needing any extra drivers. 🙂
Movies about funerals and burials :amen: in Movies ·
Thomas Vaughn6 said:Hey, movie buffs!

I have a question—it’s a bit unusual and might sound slightly morbid to some... but don't judge too quickly.

Here’s the deal: I’m looking for films that feature a formal funeral service. Specifically, I want scenes where a body is actually in a casket and being lowered into a grave. I’m not interested in anything else—nothing like a soldier being buried in a shallow hole behind a tree, or someone being wrapped up and tossed overboard from a ship.

It has to include
1. a casket,
2. family (there needs to be at least one mourner present besides the gravedigger, regardless of whether there's a priest or a eulogy),
3. the actual act of placing the casket into the grave.

The genre doesn't matter—horror, comedy, whatever 😉—and it doesn't matter if it's an old classic or a recent release. It could be an American film, a Japanese film, or something from halfway across the world... I don't even need to understand the dialogue.

Thanks in advance if any of you can point me toward some examples.

Hmm... I don't know, maybe something like Mortal Kombat 3?

Ante Balboa II. said:"The acting is at the level of American TV shows" - oh, give me a break...
Look, the production value is what it is, considering this whole thing was basically just a graduation project for a student like Srdjan Dragojevica....so I guess there’s really no point in me trying to explain the logic here...
Even if you think the humor is a bit forced, some of the jokes from the movie are still everywhere...

If you ask me, maybe 8/10 people would give this film a pretty high rating...at least that's what I've noticed...but hey, everyone has their own taste in movies, I suppose.

Alright, so I guess there's a valid excuse for the production quality then, 😁
but honestly, the opinion of some 8/10 people doesn't actually mean anything at all.

One of the biggest hits to ever come out of this part of the world—basically the last big masterpiece carrying that "made in USA" label—is Steven Spielberg's absolute breakout hit (though calling it his thesis project might be more accurate!).

So, I finally sat down and watched it after everyone spent months lecturing me about how brilliant it was... and honestly? I thought it was pretty stupid. The acting feels like something straight out of a low-budget American soap opera, the production value is kind of pathetic, and the humor just feels forced. It’s definitely not hitting that high standard Americans usually manage to pull off. 👎

Bradley Ramirez5 said:So, if anyone actually knows, is this movie strictly for kids, or is it more like Shrek where adults can enjoy it too? Has anyone seen it yet?

I mean, it probably won't top Shrek, but it's definitely in that same ballpark—it's pretty decent and fun, I actually really liked it 😁
And yeah, you should definitely watch it with the original voices, because I'm honestly terrified of what a dubbed goat might sound like 🤔

Osorkon said:Personally, I’d love to see something fresh. Like, maybe some movies based on Asimov's Foundation series or even Simmons' Hyperion.

Ugh, not me, honestly. I just don't think there's anyone out there who could actually pull that off without making it a total mess... those books are kind of... unfilmable... plus, I have this nagging fear that at least one of them would end up casting Vin Diesel...

Hmm... though, I guess the Sky Lords people were more than willing to give it a shot... and it's a trilogy, which seems to be what everyone is into these days anyway 😁
