I feel like I'm on autopilot

Every night before bed, I map out the next day down to the minute, and I live it exactly that way. If something happens that isn't in the plan, it's basically non-existent to me. Even my fitness routine is regimented; my body runs like a Swiss watch, hitting its peak performance at the exact same time every single day.
Fear. That's the root of it.
The less actual control you have over the trajectory of your own life—the less you feel you're actually steering the ship—the more desperate you become to micromanage every tiny, insignificant detail.
It’s a coping mechanism. You do it to soothe yourself, creating this pathetic, artificial sense of mastery over your surroundings.
It’s the exact same psychological loop that drives OCD, eating disorders, and all those other compulsive behaviors.
