Thanks so much... I actually tried using a search engine first because I couldn't quite figure out how this advanced forum search thing works on the left side of the screen. Anyway, I managed to find it. I don't think I'll be heading 🤦

I was hoping to hear from anyone who has undergone an endoscopy recently. What was the experience actually like? How thorough is the procedure?
Milica, I honestly can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I just did a quick Google search and realized that's exactly what I'm dealing with. In the link below, the top image shows a nose that looks just like mine.

Does anyone happen to have a specialist they could recommend?

And why can't you wear glasses? Is it causing you pain or something?

I did go in for a check-up, and honestly, he just told me everything was fine and basically kicked me out of the office. To be fair, things didn't look quite as bad back then—I suppose there was still some swelling involved—but even then, it wasn't looking great. Over time, it feels like the middle section has just sort of collapsed; now there's just that central bone left, topped by a peak that looks even wider because the middle has thinned out so much.

As for the glasses, I just can't wear them because they make my nose ache.
Hi everyone, I had rhinoplasty about four years ago performed by Dr. Bastaić. The goal was just to remove a small bump and refine my nasal tip, but honestly, the surgeon completely ruined my nose. Everything seemed fine at first while the swelling was still there, but once everything settled down and time passed, the results just kept getting worse. Now, I have this thin, line-like ridge running down the center of my nose, and my tip is wide and asymmetrical, being much broader on the left side. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even wear glasses anymore; I rely on contacts, but even when I try wearing sunglasses, I can only manage ten minutes before the discomfort becomes unbearable.

Now I’m looking into a revision surgery, but I am completely lost on where to go. Has anyone here had any experience working with Dr. Milenović? Or if someone could recommend a specialist, I would be incredibly grateful.

Thanks...

I went through my own procedure, and having them on didn't cause any issues at all.🙂
Susan Foster45 said:Hey everyone, how long after surgery should I avoid wearing sunglasses? I totally forgot to ask my doctor during my follow-up, and he didn't bring it up at all...

It’s been about eight and a half months since my procedure, and even now, I rarely wear them. Even with really lightweight frames, the sides of my nose still get swollen if I wear them for too long. I think rustygardener172 mentioned she was back in them by the second week, so I suppose there isn't a strict rule. It seems more like you just have to listen to your own body and wait until it feels comfortable enough to handle the pressure without irritation.

My healing process has been a bit slower than average, too. My nasal tip only really settled into shape in the last two weeks. I am finally completely happy with the result, though I'll admit I had almost lost all hope at one point. 🙂
I think I’ve finally figured out what’s actually going on with my glasses 🙂 Wearing them for even just half an hour seems to totally distort my nose shape, and then it takes about two days for everything to settle back to normal 🤷
After that short window, the bones on the sides get swollen, the bridge looks weirdly pointed, and the tip gets puffy—it’s honestly quite bizarre... My sunglasses never gave me any trouble, but clearly, these prescription frames have some kind of tension points that just don't work for my face. Just thought I’d give you all a little heads-up...
steelangler88,
I completely get what you mean about those indentations on the sides. I’ve started noticing them recently myself—it feels like my skin has gotten really thin, and it's as if there's this narrow strip of bone right down the middle, but then there's just this empty gap or something missing on either side 🤷 maybe it’s just swollen bone or something similar... it’s happening on both sides and spans nearly a centimeter
The tip actually looks wider now than it did just two months ago 🙂 It’s been six months since my surgery, and honestly, I'm starting to wonder if there's any hope left for me 😢
Karen Grant80 said:Does anyone know how long you have to wait before wearing glasses again after surgery? I’ve been reading conflicting things—some places say six months, others say two...

I suppose it really depends on what your surgeon tells you, but honestly, you’ll probably just know when it feels right. It’s been nearly five months since my procedure, and even now, I only wear my glasses for short bursts because, frankly, it just doesn't feel quite right when I put them on.

I still get this sensation in my nose sometimes—kind of a pulling feeling or a little clicking—and I'm not entirely sure how long that lingering sensation will last, though I guess the end result is worth it since it looks great.😍

Also, if anyone wouldn't mind sending me some recent photos via DM, I would be so incredibly grateful!
Megan Flores42 said:Could I get a quick, urgent answer on this: am I allowed to go tanning after nose surgery?

Absolutely not.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing some photos myself 🙂
Thanks so much for the compliments on my outfit! 😍

I tried on my glasses today, but since my nose shape has changed slightly, they feel way too wide now. I think I'm going to have to head out for some shopping soon. 😁
I think I’ve sent this out to everyone ☕

I was actually wondering, when did you all first start wearing glasses? Personally, I get this really unsettling sensation whenever I put them on, and part of me is worried it might be a bit too early in life... though, honestly, I am dying for some decent sunglasses 🙂
I finally managed to snap some before-and-after photos! If anyone is interested in seeing them, just shoot me a private message.

It’s been three months since the surgery, and I guess the peak is still a bit swollen. I'm really hoping that little bulge at the top settles down soon, but honestly, the profile looks pretty good to me—from the way the implant sits to the overall shape. At least, that's how it looks from my perspective...

Are you still worried that he might have left you with a nose that looks a bit too natural??? To be honest, I’m feeling a little anxious myself... but I’m already on day 15, so I suppose the swelling should start to subside soon enough...🙂>

As for Glumicic... he’s basically charging $2,000, though he adds an extra $150 for the overnight stay 🙄, and then he’ll send you off to get labs done with one of his associates who charges for that $500 🙂, plus whatever medications he prescribes that you have to buy yourself, but I guess that's not a huge deal... honestly, with Bastaic, nothing goes over $2,000 ☕.

To be perfectly honest, if it stays looking exactly like this right now, I wouldn't be entirely thrilled, but I imagine the swelling will eventually go down... the tip is still numb, feels woody, and is painful to the touch—and sometimes doesn't feel anything at all—so clearly it hasn't fully recovered yet. Plus, everyone on the forum seems to say it takes at least six months for the tip to settle...

Fifteen days is really quite early to be stressing out, even though I completely understand how you feel. If you'd like, I can send you a photo of my nose from when I was two weeks post-op versus two months post-op, just so you can see the difference...
Sophia Brown34 said:Rachel Martinez94, you still have plenty of time... I actually ruled out Glumicic right from the start. Two of my friends went to him, and honestly, neither was happy with the results. For some reason, he just doesn't give off the right vibe to me. I had considered Toncic as an option too, but my gut feeling kept pulling me toward Bastaic... I’d recommend him to anyone, really. He is truly an expert when it comes to both nasal function and aesthetics, but what I love most is how much he prioritizes a natural look—we definitely see eye-to-eye on that. Glumicic, on the other hand, doesn't seem to care nearly as much about functionality... plus, he's way more expensive, ugh...

What makes you think Glumicic is more expensive? 😕

Bastaic is absolutely wonderful, though I’ll admit I spent a long time worrying that my nose wouldn't end up looking natural enough.😁
Sophia Brown34 said:Ugh, I feel a little better now... though honestly, I felt totally fine about myself until my hairstylist mentioned I was looking a bit different lately. And here I was thinking I always looked great—I just thought I’d been tightening my nose a bit too much. 🙂
And then there's the tip... the tip was an issue for me too, it seemed a tad too long. Now it’s almost the same, just a bit more lifted. Some people say the profile looks fine, and from the front it does too, 🙂
but then I have to go through this whole explanation of how it swelled up, even if you can't tell from the outside, and how everything is going to settle down eventually, blah blah blah...
Gosh, it would have been so much better if I hadn't said anything to anyone at all...
And it really bothers me that I can't smile properly; my upper lip kind of tucks in when I laugh... it looks terrible...
Ashley Gomez, did you have issues with your upper lip and smiling? When will that part actually resolve?

I didn't have any problems with my lip; the only thing is when I smile, I get this strange sensation, almost like my nose gets congested.
Dancy, I actually went through the exact same thing... My eyes looked absolutely terrible at first. When I’d take photos and try to compare them to my old ones, I didn't even recognize myself—it wasn't really about my nose, but my eyes; I just looked completely distorted. It got to the point where my husband would actually stop in his tracks when he saw me and tell me how I didn't even look like myself anymore. For me, though, the eyes weren't the main stressor; it was my nose tip. It felt huge, and I was terrified it wouldn't settle down because the tip had always been an issue for me. I kept worrying that maybe they hadn't just reshaped it, but actually shrunk the whole nose too much... Anyway, I'm nearly three months post-op now. My eyes finally started looking normal around the two-month mark, and now, in this third month, the tip is finally starting to deflate quite noticeably. I'm not even worried anymore; I'm just waiting for that tip to settle a bit more so everything looks perfect. 😍

I know how incredibly hard it is to stay positive during those early stages, but once you see how everything eventually settles into place over time, it becomes almost fascinating to watch the transformation as you start looking better and better every day. 😁
Elizabeth Collins5 said:Hy! I have a flight coming up myself very soon, so reading your post actually gave me a little bit of a scare, haha.
Did you experience any of this before your surgery?

@Ashley Gomez, how is your recovery coming along? By the way, have you taken any straight-on photos yet? I’d really love to see what your nose looks like from the front, so if you happen to have a photo, please send it over 🙂

My nose is still pretty swollen, especially the tip. The left side is puffy from about halfway down to the tip, which makes my nasal passages look uneven. It's actually so wide right now that when I tried to put on my glasses, they just sat perched above my nose 😁 but I'm not letting it get to me anymore; I guess it'll settle down whenever it settles down...

I'll go hunt for a picture and send it your way.
