So, there was zero issue with the headline Barack Obama, President of the Beautiful Land for at least six months—if not longer—before we tweaked it during the campaign to ensure all candidates were treated equally. Now, suddenly, this exact same format for a topic about President ??? is considered controversial.
If this title is now viewed as disrespectful to the office, then the thread regarding his predecessor was also disrespectful. I just don't recall anyone raising an eyebrow back then.

It’s all just empty rhetoric. You know how it goes—temperamental excuses, bad luck, "we'll be better next time," "look at our young talent," blah blah blah. It’s the same old garbage. Honestly, no matter what sport you watch, you always run into those loudmouths with the IQ of a pebble, acting like my critical thinking is somehow an insult to them. 🙏 🙏
I’m seriously considering giving up on sports entirely. It’s exhausting.
You’re dreaming... so now Goble claims the coach will face consequences but won't actually be fired? What is he going to do, take a 10% pay cut?
Brenda Cook4 said:- my appeal regarding the ban was deleted... honestly, who am I to complain about Amtrak? As if I just showed up yesterday...
I'm posting this here instead. It isn't about the ban itself, but I wasn't sure where else to put it without starting a whole new thread on the Amtrak board. Since deletions are technically a sanction, I figured this spot might pass:
My thread about the protesters having their signs confiscated while demonstrating against Joe Biden (Kamala Harris and the rest of the administration) in San Francisco was deleted. Why?
edit:
It looks like the thread was moved to the 'be yourself Charlie' section.
Why? That's a separate topic. Otherwise, we might as well merge every single thread into one giant mess.
It's actually over there, not here in the general thread for Joe Biden's administration. Your post is
Back when those posters caused issues near Joe Biden's office, we didn't have a dedicated thread for it. So, there shouldn't need to be a special thread for this sign in San Francisco either.
boldridge22 said:The thread about Canada on the World subforum has been locked. Just three more mornings until New Year's Day. Today marks the beginning. It’s January 3rd and it’s still closed. Any idea when you plan on reopening?
Charles Fox10 closed that one off last night too. Demographics in Canada.Well, at least give us something. Pick one of the two. Open it.
Look, these threads have always been titled this way through every previous iteration. There are tens of thousands of posts under these names, yet suddenly we're being called out for inconsistency, unfairness, or whatever else you want to call it.
Don't you think you're overreacting just a little?
A few hours before the New Year rolled in, we closed the old threads. Then, a few hours after the New Year started, we opened these fresh ones to ensure both the Republican Party candidate and the other candidate had an equal starting point. It was about fairness.
In the female candidate's thread title, instead of President of the Republic of America, we used President of the Beautiful Coast—which is exactly how the male candidate's title has read for a long, long time, just so they wouldn't be distinguished from one another.
Honestly, I think you're underestimating voters if you truly believe these titles have any impact on them.
rapidnomad512 said:I see they've updated the thread title to include "Republican Party Candidate Kolinda." 🤣 Trying to pin this on the Republican Party's track record seems like a stretch—it actually happens to be the core strategy of Joe's campaign. Besides, that’s technically inaccurate. Trump is running as the candidate for more than ten different parties, so let's either list them all or none at all.
Also, please include the list of parties he represents in the title of Ivan's thread if things stay this way.
You're seeing it that way because that's how the thread was titled from day one. The political landscape seems to be shifting again. It’s hard to say where things will land with the current polling. Just watching the pieces move.
I’ve reviewed the recent reports and couldn't find any violations here. In the future, please just report the post and move on. I'm emphasizing "move on," because if you keep arguing with someone who is clearly breaking the rules, you'll end up with the exact same penalty as them.
It's obvious to all of us that things are getting a bit heated with the runoff election approaching. Some posts are pushing the limits, so I’d like to ask everyone to dial back the intensity just a touch.
You’ll need an enclosure, and honestly, it’s not rocket science to put them together. You can try looking here: Once you have the enclosure and pop an IBM inside, you basically have yourself an external drive.
Since you already asked this in a locked thread, I didn't bother responding... I think the rule needs to be read in its entirety; certain things are obviously hard to expect in threads like that, but we aren't going to delete everything regardless.
It isn't some media blackout; there’s just been too much inappropriate posting lately. Everyone needs a breather. The finger-pointing over who hasn't posted enough has gone too far. A little downtime wouldn't hurt anyone.
being at the helm of an entity with the power to decide on and execute the removal or humiliation of political rivals. Given today's sociopolitical landscape, who would you target?
Let's put together a forum hit list.
The former President, the Secretary of State... and definitely Jelena Rozga.
That’s why. I spared you a long ban myself, though the admins might have other ideas.
We aren't being unserious; we just don't tolerate trolling. Speculating about what might happen ten months from now only to compare it to an Pride Parade isn't just trolling—it’s plain rude.
fadedcrane48 said:Calling someone Muslim—especially regarding the era before 1994—isn't an insult, and you know that perfectly well. The way this particular user is behaving in this thread is disgraceful. Yet, you turn a blind eye, giving him leeway while penalizing me for every minor slip-up. Why haven't you ever given me a pass?
What did I actually do to earn a 30-point penalty just for responding to his post? Is "Mars" considered an insult too? If so, why wasn't he penalized for bringing Mars into the conversation? The double standards are blatant.
Why the leniency toward him? Is he your favorite troll or something? I didn't ignore anything; I was simply replying to him. If my response counts as neglect, then so does his. You even praise other users for being clever enough to avoid quoting in color while still responding in kind. 🤣 Try being just as clever and stop rewarding him for breaking the forum rules. Pure censorship, really...
I find it hard to believe you can't see the difference between discussing a topic and attacking a user—which is exactly what your favorite person keeps doing, leading to numerous reports. It’s lovely how often you bend over backward to accommodate him.
Come and give me a break for once, help balance the universe. 😁
Every single time I have the chance, I do. And no, I'm not being vindictive.
I don't have a favorite, especially not the one you're implying, since nearly every warning he's received came from me.
Your post was a blatant attempt at provocation. I've repeatedly stated and warned that we won't tolerate veiled insults toward any group in Canada—something I explicitly wrote last night after clearing out a massive pile of posts, including several of yours. But you chose to ignore the moderator's notice and took a strike. As for the rest of the comments, I simply refuse to waste my time or my keyboard on them.
That was your own words from a post that was deleted specifically for that reason.
Hardly "convenient," I suppose, when a projectile lands on the first day of school...
And that response was also deleted.
At least someone is celebrating civilian deaths.🙂
Here, you're attacking the person rather than the topic, which is effectively just an insult:
As for responding to our colleague's offensive posts, it never occurs to me to answer someone who sinks so low as to falsely claim a fellow forum member is celebrating civilian casualties.
As far as I'm concerned, none of these posts warrant a ban.
Just one more in a hundred of these. Plus, with the presidential election happening now, we’ll be jumping straight into the congressional campaign once this wraps up.
And don't bother replying... don't feed them. They only sign up for this kind of attention, and once you engage, you've already fallen for the oldest troll tactic in the book.
