Honestly, HAC is such a joke compared to these clowns... just call in Žužul to fix it properly.🙂

1937 and 1053. I'm curious how the author wasn't sanctioned, given that the posts were deleted.
Thanks.

I see one but not the other. Don't worry, if it was missed, the head mods will handle it. Personally, I tend to avoid retroactive moderation calls—I leave those to the higher-ups.

Not to clog things up, but there's been a flood of off-topic posts here today despite the moderation. If you spot anything else needing attention, please just use the report button.

I've known that for ages. Still, there's something to be said for watching someone who actually knows their stuff.
He really is a maestro.

Stuck, so now he's just mowing the lawn.☕

Watched the replay of Fernando's penalty. Doesn't look like he's the only one at fault.🤷
What on earth is with Sebastian Vettel constantly whining? As if he needs Fernando Alonso to just get out of his way to finally be happy... what a joke.
Fernando, you're dragging a bit... needs more pace if we're going to make it to the podium.☕

This isn't even about Yugoslavia; half the discussion is cooked and half is raw. We're actually on the topic of WWI commemoration in America and Europe 🙂 which is why I barely found this thread. But fine, since my colleague is banned, there's no point in continuing.

granitefalcon26 said:It isn't just about that, though. It’s a blatant violation of international law. Invoking the destruction of a sovereign, internationally recognized nation like Ukraine is a direct denial of its very right to exist.
On the other hand, we have these restrictions imposed by the moderators in the opening post, all in the name of "calling things by their real names" and engaging in some kind of high-quality discourse.
It seems certain pro-Russian users get a free pass to twist arguments however they like. They can say anything while the rest of us are held to a different standard. Don't be surprised when most people stop engaging under these conditions, leaving you with just three users running wild in the thread.

Excuse me? Did we hit some kind of limit?

This belongs in the introductory post. Honestly, it would probably work just fine on every thread with a few minor tweaks.

Note for easier tracking and moderation:
If it's a photo, just say photo. If it's a video, say video. For text, provide a summary or a key quote—feel free to use an online translator if you need to. Also, if any photos or videos contain disturbing content, please flag that.

Don't bother replying to cardboard posts, and don't waste your breath arguing with the gray ones either.

Ladies and gentlemen, you wouldn't believe it, but this thread is actually about Ukraine—not Mexico, America, Germany, or the Baltics.

Stick to the topic. We've been a bit lenient up until now, but let's not push it any further.

Stop throwing around terms like fascism, Nazism, or Chetniks without any actual context. It's mindless.

Mocking the fallen or inciting further violence will be met with sanctions.

We aren't going to bother warning you about this anymore—no more reminders regarding tagging others, and certainly no more mutual accusations of trolling.

It’s not just about restrictions anymore; we’ve moved straight into absolute censorship.

Are you serious?

So, you've made up your mind by tomorrow? That's it?

There isn't a poll in the main thread.

The aircraft descriptions are staying; they actually make sense here since we're talking about specific models.

Thanks, but I'm done.

hiddenrider66 said:I’m not sure if I should even be replying here. If not, just ban me, but you asked, so here goes. The talk about aircraft happened because someone mentioned that "the planes are grounded, and the pilots are down." I thought that was incredibly cynical. Then there was this debate over which specific aircraft we were talking about and whether calling dead pilots "grounded" was appropriate. That's all that remains of that part of the conversation.
As for labeling people pro-Russia, the poll didn't ask if they were pro-Russian Ukraine or pro-EU. So, why shouldn't someone call the group rooting for Russia "pro-Russians," if we're going to use labels—just like calling us "pro-Ukrainians"? Do you really think that's the same thing as calling dead pilots "grounded"?

You aren't starting a discussion; you're just inflating a debate over a post that doesn't even exist anymore. It was from yesterday, yet here you are today, dragging it out through ten different posts and refusing to let it go.
And I'll say it again: that post, which everyone could see, is gone.

In my view, there's no reason to slap anyone with a "pro-Russian" label. I haven't seen anyone labeled "pro-Ukrainian" on this board in quite some time. There's simply no need for it.

Do you really think labeling people as "pro-Russians" is okay?

And what exactly would the mods even do with posts discussing different aircraft types and their operational uses?
Ukraine - what's going on with the moderation? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Are there any posts on this topic?

There aren't, which simply means the moderators are actually doing their jobs.

Pushing this specific post today might honestly come across as intentional trolling.

Someone else's (Practices) ban doesn't involve you. If you're curious about why he was banned, just send him a DM; he already received an explanation privately, so if he wants to share it, he can.

Zachary Torres81 said:It seems my post was deleted again. It went something like this:

Paraphrasing again, but that was the gist of it.

Look at the image and you'll see the parallels to today's situation.
At least according to some theories floating around here, the USA influences the situation in Ukraine just to provoke Russia.
With that cartoon, I was essentially saying:
Provoking Russia under US patronage has already backfired for some; it's very likely to be the case in Ukraine too.
And after it's all over, the USA will simply walk away as if nothing happened.

A caricature is a legitimate way to present a thesis, and if it's good, much more effective than a wall of text.

I don't understand why even this post was removed.🤷

I'm not saying it didn't deserve deletion, perhaps I'm breaking rules I'm unaware of, but I'd appreciate an explanation as to why the removal is justified.

Thanks.

There, fixed.😁

I deleted it for one reason: it's off-topic. Regardless of the idea, Georgia isn't the subject, much like how I probably deleted that other post you started with
I'll write something about Syria; apologies in advance for being off-topic.

because Syria isn't the topic either.

The number of deleted posts depends on the first one that warrants removal, and then everything else follows as people quote it, making certain posts collateral damage.

We asked you in the first post not to use terms like Nazis, fascists, gangs, or hunts—essentially anything meant to insult those with different views—and especially not to incite war or talk of casualties, yet some refuse to comply.

Keep in mind, users who have loved ones in Ukraine or Russia read this thread, and there are things that are simply unpleasant to write or read.

Of course, there are also people from the Poljica Republic in Ukraine.
320 Limićs from Ukraine have arrived in Poljica.

Just speaking in general terms here; you'll find answers to your earlier questions soon enough.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion that someone is using a clone account, but we need certainty. We can only step in once we're absolutely sure. Owning a clone isn't against the rules, but using one alongside your main account on the same thread—or trying to bypass a ban by using a clone while the original is suspended—is where we have to step in and investigate.
The colleague mentioned isn't the only moderator handling this thread, though he tends to be more visible since he posts more frequently than the rest of us.
Your only move is to scrape together a two-thirds majority to try and amend the Constitution, though you'll find there’s no judge available to fill the vacancy anyway.

And just like that, another debate about the old days gets locked away. Thanks for nothing.

crimsonjackal63 said:The post preceding the controversial one was immediately and rightfully kartonirati due to insults—something any user could see.
That’s why it wasn't singled out here.

However, the controversial post itself was deleted so quickly that users can't tell if it was kartonirati or not...
Charles Fox10, you claim that deleted post was also kartonirati, and I'll take your word for it....

But that isn't really the point.
Let me restate the controversial post:

I wonder if there are any measurable criteria to determine what kind of penalty posts of this nature deserve...?

In the real world, a report like this would bring the police to your door immediately... but in the virtual world of an online forum, is a physical threat punished by deleting the post, a simple warning, a month-long ban, or a permanent ban...?

Let's clear this up so we can establish some precedent. That way, in some hypothetical scenario, users will know in advance whether a threat of physical violence earns them a mere warning while they continue insulting others, or if it's going to cost them much more dearly.

Thanks in advance.

And I ask again, what's the issue given that both posts were kartonirati??

I read one as a direct threat and the other as a conditional one.

If wiredangler5, acting as the head moderator of the Politics sub-forum, thinks it's cheap, he'll escalate accordingly without worry.

Threats aren't allowed. Penalties range from a small warning to a permaban, depending on the context of the writing, the discussion, and likely which sub-forum it happened in.
