Moderating the thread "USA—half cooked, half baked... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'm posting this here too, even though I just said it in the other thread... emphasizing that I am repeating myself.

Charles Fox10 said:The whole discussion on this forum has become a circus. It’s like the moderators have invented a new Olympic sport: "feeding the trolls and clones." Is this what we're doing now?

Are you all doing this just to spite us?

Don't bother. Just report them and move on. You're just creating busy work for us when you could be getting someone actually banned for it. Thanks.

Just handle the TV registration, and we'll take it from there.
Clones in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Instead of reporting clones and ignoring you people just keep arguing with them, forcing moderators to scroll back through pages of posts to delete everything. It's how we miss the important stuff.

It’s just extra work for nothing.
Discussion about Ukraine in Feedback & Suggestions ·
granitefalcon26 said:The forum rules are being ignored. Links to content in foreign languages should only point to English sources; everything else needs a translation. At this rate, it feels less like an American community and more like some Russian message board.
It seems certain people think the Reddit rules don't apply to them, yet somehow, they're still being tolerated.
Calling legitimate Ukrainian institutions "fascists" isn't allowed here either. Apparently, that's also going to result in a ban.

A colleague already linked the section of the PDF rules regarding foreign languages and links. I’ll just add that it’s worth reading the intro post again—we went into more detail there to make the discussion a bit easier to follow.
The topic at hand involves Ukraine and, by extension, Russia. Given that these aren't exactly English-speaking regions and they don't use the Latin alphabet, things get complicated. Because of that complexity, we've updated the PDF rules. We modified the policy specifically for this thread, since it’s practically impossible to ban links to texts written in Cyrillic.

From the opening post:

If it's a photo, please label it as a photo. If it's a video, call it a video. If you're providing a summary or a key quote alongside an online translation—perhaps via Google Translate—just note that. Also, if any photos or videos contain disturbing content, please give us a heads-up.

Don't bother responding to cardboard posts, and don't waste your breath arguing with gray ones either.

Ladies and gentlemen, you wouldn't believe it, but this thread is actually about Ukraine—not Mexico, the US, Germany, or the Baltic states.

Keep the topics on track. We've been somewhat tolerant up to this point, but let's not push it any further.

Stop throwing around terms like fascism, Nazism, or Chetniks without any actual context. It’s pointless.

Mocking the fallen or inciting further violence will be met with sanctions.
Supposedly, I heard, they claim, word on the street is—they shot down a plane, a bridge, etc. Without any actual links, it’s just trolling by definition. Just be careful.
Respond to an insult with an insult. Provoke a fight (trolling) and/or respond to a provocation with a provocation. Otherwise, all parties involved in such exchanges will be sanctioned, regardless of who started it.
Report inappropriate posts using the icon and then ignore them; leave the rest to the moderators.

We don't moderate based on personal whims, but according to the pdf rule, so why are these discussions about other users open on the PŽK?

One last thing: report improper posts and move on. With a daily flood of posts that can exceed 500, it's simply impossible to see everything.
Just for the record, Alexis's avatar is actually a photo of Ms. Ankica. It was taken back in 1944, featuring a close friend of Ankica, who was the wife of the First American President, Dr. Franjo Tuđman.

It’s not strictly forbidden, but summer tends to be a bit of a blur, so things just slip through the cracks. Thanks for flagging this.

No doubt about it. This isn't the first time either. Last time, someone just made a new profile right after being banned and kept posting in the same thread.
What kind of message does that send to the rest of us? 🙂

I didn't say anyone voted using their original account + along with a clone (by the way, I hope you can't vote if the original account is banned. That would be a real farce). I said people vote even when they're banned from the thread!

My question was: how many clones do those who aren't banned have, and how many times have they voted like that?

In short, the poll is pointless. But I wrote that at the very beginning of the thread.
Especially the part asking: "in this conflict?" (sic!). Which one? 🙂 This conflict didn't just start yesterday, for heaven's sake!

It isn't some political debate.
I simply stated facts regarding the military wing of Hamas, the EU, and the US as an ally. We should stick to the facts. Simple as that.

So, @Charles Fox10/">@@Charles Fox10, I hope that answers everything.

PS: @rowdytiger13/">@@rowdytiger13, respect to him for his patience here. Despite the ad hominem attacks, he stayed dignified. May his vines be heavy with grapes and his wine always be good. 🙂

You tried, but I'm not satisfied.😁

Look, you might be convinced someone is a clone, but we have to be absolutely certain. That’s why tracking clones takes longer than expected, and there's no easy answer to the question other than the classic: using a clone isn't against the rules, but using one while your main nick is banned definitely is—though I think we all know that.

Reporting it or not doesn't matter, because a report alone doesn't give me enough info to actually help anything.

The poll is what it is. I agree it's a bit useless, but since nobody can vote on it anymore, it doesn't matter. As for deleting it, I personally don't see the point—not for any special reason, just let it sit until the thread hits its technical limit. Deleting things on a server like this doesn't seem particularly smart, judging by a circus I once pulled in a similar situation.

Yes, politics is part of PŽK. Discussing whether Hamas is a terrorist organization or just its military wing is exactly what this thread is for.

Sam Alvarez4 said:I have a few extra points.

First off, how can someone who was banned from this thread over accusations of being some kind of forum mercenary just show up again using a clone account? Especially since their original handle is still banned.

Second, what’s even the point of the poll if people are still posting and voting on the same thread after being banned? It makes the whole survey feel pointless.

Third, Hamas isn't considered a terrorist organization, though its military wing certainly is. That's the official stance for the EU, which we are part of.

I have questions too.

First: did you actually report those inappropriate posts using the flag icon when you had those suspicions???
If you did, I must have missed it. If you don't mind, could you do it again? You can send me a PM. If not, please report them so we can see what's going on.

Second: the poll is just a poll. Since it's anonymous, there's no way for me to know if someone voted twice using an original and a clone account.

Third: this is PŽK, so political debate isn't exactly... well, you know.

Will this thread actually become more readable, constructive, or high-quality if we just let people keep pulling terms like Nazi, fascist, war criminal, or Hitler’s disciples out of their personal arsenals?

It won't. People will just troll using those labels until the conversation loses any connection to the actual topic.

Someone brought up Ukraine—so what? We asked, and then we banned the mindless use of terms like Nazi or fascist. That kind of talk is much rarer now, which keeps the thread from devolving.

I don't get why it's so hard to stop using the insults we warned you about. This forum will collapse and the whole server will fall apart if someone doesn't finally use the term war criminal for a high-ranking official, whether they are Israeli or Palestinian. I truly don't understand.

And how exactly does calling any individual—even a head of state—a war criminal improve the quality of a debate?

Can we please just stop using such formulations in our discussions? Is this really such a massive issue that we're on the verge of introducing verbal offenses or outright censorship to the forum?

He just copied it... though strangely enough, you didn't seem to mind that, only the moderation rules.

Listen, Studenko, or whatever your name is—let’s pick this back up on the 27th... unless you'll be stuck in Mexico then and won't be able to?

I have no desire to debate one user's obvious lapses or improprieties while his opponents get a free pass. I'll leave this whole mess to the administration.

crimsonjackal63 said:Look, Charles Fox10, I’m not even the target here, yet I still get labeled a mercenary, a troll, or a spammer—despite averaging maybe one post a day...

But I’m not the only one being targeted by Student.
He directs those labels at anyone who disagrees with him.
Everyone, you see?
Every single person...

How many warnings, temporary bans, or even permanent bans would any other user get if they spent their days writing stuff like:
"Charles Fox10, you're a mercenary, a troll, a spammer, and a flamer..."
How many would it take???

Student has posted things like that—counting deleted ones—about fifty times...

For instance, Marasovac was permanently banned, while Student mostly goes unchecked, running wild day after day...
From that perspective, something strange is happening in Politics...
What is going on???

Nothing strange is happening. We just happen to have two incredibly heated threads right now. It's impossible to be everywhere from dawn till dusk, so we highlight certain topics. My suggestion: report them, ignore them, and keep the discussion moving. It would make things easier for everyone.
Rules and guidelines: A look at user Studentka's posts in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Believe it or not, the colleague mentioned isn't actually the subject of the thread titled "Tomislav Karamarko, Republican Party President (Part III)," much like how debating whether he’s someone's clone or who the original is isn't the point.

It’s irrelevant, yet it shows up in about six out of ten posts. You might find this hard to believe, but the principle remains constant: if someone posts something inappropriate, simply report it and move on.

Unfortunately, many fail to follow that simple instruction. That's why threads that blow up unnecessarily end up being moderated according to the Politics rule pdf, specifically this one:

Responding to an insult with another insult. Engaging in trolling or meeting provocation with further provocation. Otherwise, all participants in such exchanges will face sanctions, regardless of who started it.

You can check for yourself who has been banned from that thread; everything else is up to the administration.

Absolutely false. I honestly don't know how many times we have to debunk this.

Moving this thread over with a slight title change. Some gentlemen were feeling a bit left out.

Alexander Barrett31 said:While Perković sits in isolation—and the topic itself remains just as isolated—I suppose we shouldn't go looking for trouble either.😢

What kind of isolation are we talking about here? Is the thread locked, deleted, or did something actually happen to justify calling it isolated?

Before we even get into the debate, I’ll probably say it for the hundredth time: that close politician is about as useful as a blank PDF.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the topic. The situation has shifted now that the indictment against Perković has been confirmed. We still have a long wait until the trial in November, and frankly, we're missing Mustač in this whole equation.

Why was my thread about maternity pay for women locked? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
urbanorca8 said:Someone deleted the thread about women receiving pay as a reward for motherhood without any explanation.

Which moderator did this, and what was the reasoning?

Are we supposed to believe there aren't enough discussions on motherhood, and that we actually need a thread where maternity-based pensions are discussed in a way that insults both women and mothers—and fathers aren't spared either?

Absolutely not.
You can't claim a championship if you don't actually know how to drive. Honestly, Sebastian Vettel, stop the complaining and just floor it if you think you've got what it takes. It's getting pathetic.

Mr. Charlie Whiting, just throw the black flag on him already.☕
