Honestly, it really rubs me the wrong way how they always frame themselves as the victims in this whole Mexican narrative... Don't get me wrong, there were certainly times when they were the ones suffering at the hands of Mexicans, but the paradox is that we’re always the ones footing the bill. It happened back during the war in Central Canada, and it’s still happening today within the Federation. Situations like this just weaken our position because they get to play the victim, while the Mexicans already have their own Republic of Srpska to lean on.
It’s the same story whether you're watching a movie or looking at real life...
I caught a bit of this on TV last night. Some American American was on there apparently linking all of this back to Jakovcica, and he’s insisting that she (from the link) doesn't have a leg to stand on. 🤷

Just install it, toss your music into the Collections, and you'll be good to go. Once you get the hang of it, you'll realize that once you start listening through this program, you won't want to touch Windows Media Player ever again.😁 😉
Using WMP on Windows 10, and lately it's been refusing to load certain songs... basically everything I've downloaded since a specific point in time. It's weird because sometimes they *do* show up (though not all of them), but then they just vanish again later. 🤷
I'm using WMP on Windows 7, and lately, it’s being super flaky about loading certain songs... specifically everything I've downloaded since a certain point. It’s weird because sometimes they show up, but then they just vanish again later.🤷
Andrew Miller102 said:How can you say Splayer isn't reading something that MPCHC can? They're basically the same thing—think of them as having the same engine running under the hood.😁 If you couldn't open a file, it was probably just a corrupted video or some other random Windows glitch. Personally, I've used MPCHC to play pretty much any format imaginable, regardless of the resolution. Even those RealPlayer formats like RMVB work perfectly fine as long as the files aren't broken.☕😉
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMVB
I actually just went ahead and reinstalled it to test things out...
🤷It’s not that it "doesn't read" them; it’s more that it just doesn't recognize certain files recorded on my phone... Splayer and KM Player pick them up without any issues, though GOM only handles the video part...
And honestly, Splayer feels noticeably faster. I'll try opening a file first with MPCHC and then immediately with Splayer, and Splayer always wins the race. Plus, it seems to handle slightly corrupted files a bit better than the other one... 🤷
Andrew Miller102 said:Windows Media Player 12 plays most formats just fine, but it definitely struggles once you start throwing HD video at it. That’s a whole different story, though. Honestly, I'm not surprised—it feels like they didn't exactly put much effort into how those files actually handle playback.😂 Look, MPC-HC might be pretty ugly to look at, but man, does it absolutely crush the competition. If you’re the type of person who really cares about having a sleek, polished interface though, then you should probably go with Splayer. Under the hood, it’s basically the exact same engine, just with some upgraded features and a much cleaner look. It works so smoothly that you won't have to worry about a thing—and honestly, those extra codec packs everyone talks about? Totally unnecessary.😁😉
Check out this link for Splayer: http://www.splayer.org/index.en.html
Honestly, I don't think MPCHC looks ugly at all.
Splayer is actually pretty similar, but honestly, it feels like it has some genuine improvements. It's not just about the cleaner GUI, either—I've noticed it handles certain file types that this one struggles with, and it seems to open files much faster on my machine.
Richard Nelson2 said:Look, if I install GomPlayer and the guy won't play my DVDs without hunting down some random codecs, I'll let him try. He goes off searching for whatever he needs, I install everything, and then... nothing. Zilch. It just shuts itself down, acting all shy about the fact that it can't actually work (kind of like how someone gets embarrassed when they just can't perform when you need them to 🙂).
driftingangler11 said:Oh, they definitely exist—it's just that they aren't bundled in the initial setup. He just downloads them whenever he actually needs them. Honestly, there's a massive amount of them out there. 😁
driftingangler11 said:That’s exactly my point—would I really call such a solid program garbage based just on my own experience? No way, because it really isn't garbage. Look, nothing is perfect, but "garbage" is a strong word. Even Windows Media Player wouldn't be called garbage... because it actually works 😁
Fair enough, but like I said, that's just my subjective take, which is true for pretty much any software... For instance, personally, I find that VLC Media Player and GOM act really poorly on Windows 7... To me, VLC feels cluttered, bloated, and unnecessary... but hey, that's just my taste...
Also, I only mentioned that regarding GOM and its codecs (since it claims to have a massive amount), which just isn't true... It's actually missing quite a few, especially when it comes to audio codecs...
driftingangler11 said:See, this is exactly why—I just installed a fresh version of VLC Media Player on my Windows 7 machine to see if I could change my mind about it, and the very first thing I tried failed immediately. It won't play a .vob file at all! Plus, I can't even "drag-and-drop" the movie file and then the subtitle file. In GOM, it’s a total breeze: you just toss the movie in, then drop the subtitle right on top without having to bother renaming everything to match perfectly. Neither of those things works with VLC Media Player 😢
Just giving it a shot myself now, and man, that .vob file is running smooth as silk! 🤷
Look, I’m not going to say GOM is total garbage, but in my experience, it’s definitely a step down from those three I mentioned earlier...
The main issue is that it lacks more codecs than the others—and while it’s not strictly about the sound, I just want to point out that contrary to what people claim, it doesn't actually have a massive library of them. Many other players are much better in that regard. On my Windows 7 setup, it felt pretty unstable. Even VLC was a mess for me—super buggy, bloated, and just hard to navigate. That was on a fresh install of Windows 7; I can't speak for Linux, but since Linux users tend to be such a niche group...
On the flip side, I really liked Splayer. It was lightweight and never once froze on me. It’s also ten times easier to navigate than most others, including VLC. Most importantly, it played absolutely everything I threw at it. GOM, for instance, couldn't handle certain files, like some audio from my phone or various tracks from DVDs because it lacked the necessary codecs. At the end of the day, that's all I care about: a player that is stable and easy to use for watching video. All the extra bells and whistles just get in my way.
That’s just my personal take. I haven't tested every single PC out there, but I’ve put almost every player through its paces on my own machines, ranging from Windows XP to Windows Vista and Windows 7...
GOM Player is honestly garbage... it's way too overrated and lacks a ton of codecs, especially when it comes to audio, so I don't even know what they're bragging about regarding codec support... VLC is also crap... just totally unstable...
Give Splayer, MPC-HC, or KM a shot. For me, those three are the gold standard, with Splayer being my absolute favorite.
Taylor Morales31 said:I usually just use Winamp for radio streams and it's never given me any trouble, though I have to admit Windows Media Player 12 might actually have better sound quality...👍
True, there are plenty of options out there, but honestly, I’d much rather just get it working on Windows Media Player 12. 😉 If that doesn't work out, then I guess I'll look into installing something else. 😉
Anyway, if anyone else is running into this issue or knows a fix, please let me know! 🙂
Take Franjo Harmon, for example. He was our first president, and more importantly, he dealt with a visible facial tic—a physical struggle that people often poked fun at. Personally, I’m not sure how tasteful it is to make light of someone's disability. 🤷
On the other hand, Josip Manjko is very much still with us. He’s been active in politics up until recently and likely will be again, but the point is, he doesn't have any actual physical impairments that people use for ridicule.
Ugh, I can't get Overlord to run. It keeps asking for DirectX 9—specifically that d3dx9_dll file.
I went ahead and downloaded it and dropped it right into the game folder, but now when I try to launch the game, absolutely nothing happens. 🤷 I even tried running it in compatibility mode, but still nothing.
