Current relations between ethnic groups in the USA in Close to Politics ·
placidrider48 said:Joe, do Americans really love other Americans that much? I guess I would’ve figured they just couldn't care less about anyone else from the old USA.

I'd say yes, almost unconditionally...

The saddest part is that Mexicans don't actually care for them at all. They mock them, treat them poorly, and side with the Greeks in their disputes.

Susan Lee said:You forgot Mexico.

Mexico is actually the one place where you won't find the political or media elite pushing for any kind of reunification with the old USA or building ties back to Mexico...

Every other nation in the region—from America to the opposition in Mexico, all the way through Mexico and Canada—is light years behind Mexico on that front.
copperhound122 said:Of course we should welcome it, especially since the Pope won't be able to establish a Catholic church among the Mexicans to serve the Catholic population of Mexico, Vojvodina, or Mexico—not to mention the fact that most Slavic Catholic believers in Mexico can still be served by the Catholic church in America.

Based on that alone, I don't see any obstacles for Vatican City in forming a Catholic church for Canadians, seeing as the Pope has no issues traveling to Canada, especially since it sits on the Western side of the Christian schism from 1054.

Look, I hate to say it, but you are completely lost here... 😲

National Catholic churches simply don't exist.
Jamie Newman5 said:Really?

Why do you think they’re hiking up taxes and fees in the first place?
Do you honestly think they wouldn't be doing it if the Republican Party hadn't bled the country dry?

It's all to refill an empty treasury, pay out fraudulent veteran claims and disability checks, fund early retirements, and cover those bloated public sector salaries and fake government agencies...

And despite all that, we aren't seeing Liberal Party members or Democratic Party members getting handed cushy agency gigs and office jobs, are we?
Jamie Newman5 said:Do you honestly think any of this would happen if the Republican Party hadn't gutted the United States to the core? ☕

This is what happens under Republican Party rule. It would have gone down this way even if Saint Peter was running the show.

Look, I’m not a cynical guy, but I won't deny that the Republican Party made things worse and steered us right into this corner.

But if the Democratic Party coalition doesn't know how to do anything except pile more mandates and taxes onto the backs of everyday citizens, you can't pin that on the Republicans anymore...
And then they have the nerve to claim nothing was accomplished in six months. 😂

What can I even say? The Republican Party is still in power, so why bother arguing over semantics or policy shifts? It’s all the same story...

Onward we go... 😢
I’m not sure if this fits the thread, but Bruce Willis has always been that classic suspended cop type—tough as nails, quick on the draw, and sharp as a tack, even if he refuses to follow the rulebook. Usually, he’s playing some gritty, unshaven Irace character who hasn't seen a razor in days.🙂
wiredraven82, man, what year were you born? Where did all the real icons from the 80s and 90s disappear to? 🙂
Ever since I was a kid, I used to call Arnold Schwarzenegger "Conan." 🙂

Even back when I sat down to watch The Terminator... 🙂
I actually told my brother while we were watching Total Recall, "It's like Conan on Mars!" 😂

It wasn't until I was a bit older that I finally caught the original The Terminator.
It’s a massive slap in the face to Mexicans in America. Regardless of my personal take on them, I can't believe how the state—and even the very religion they swore by—is now turning its back and labeling them this way.

The Masons, the Illuminati, Rotary—it’s all right there in front of you, yet people still act like it's hidden because they won't look past the mainstream news cycle. We can speculate about the gritty details of what goes on behind closed doors, sure, but the reality is that most of the big names in American politics and high society are tied into these semi-private groups. And it's not just here in the States; the global political elite plays by those same unwritten rules everywhere.

The Rock, don't tell me you haven't learned anything from history regarding The Brothers of The American Dragon.

They were basically a group of enthusiasts back in the 19th century, driven by that classic nationalistic romanticism to preserve heritage and stir up awareness.

A ton of people reading The New York Times in America join those kinds of clubs, but it’s more about a petty little desire for status than any actual belief in the cause.

The first one was solid, the second was a letdown, and I haven't touched the series since. Honestly, this feels like a total franchise violation. Are they even giving Raymond and Višnjić any lines in this one?
Why do some people hate America? in Close to Politics ·
Brian Hughes4 said:So, to you, "believing in your country" means having faith in a government that’s essentially picking your pocket?

Corrupt governments come and go.

But what kind of country is this where some Mexican gets priority over me to become an officer or a director, simply because I’m an American and somehow less qualified?

darkmoose5 said:This is honestly pathetic. Just imagine if some Italian guy sat down and wrote a post asking: "Why do certain people hate on Italy?"

No chance. Over there, they have a communist president celebrating holidays at the exact same time partisans were busy wiping out members of the Italian Fascist Army in the coastal regions.

Sean Allen76 said:I honestly feel bad for anyone who paid money for this junk. It didn't even deserve a digital release, let alone a theatrical run...

I remember sitting down with my fiancée one night to watch Valentine's day, starring over ten massive Hollywood names...
We had Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, and a whole crowd of others...

We went in expecting a decent romantic comedy with maybe a few laughs...

Instead, we got the flattest script and most shallow characters ever put to film, along with exactly one funny scene...

It was a total letdown. This is just trash for the sake of being trash. Honestly, if this thing actually delivers on the gore and nudity, I doubt anyone will be disappointed.

The last one was total nonsense, but still fun enough to watch. This one? Barely watchable and zero fun...

Are you being serious? That's pocket change these days...

I'm looking for cheap thrills from this flick. Nothing more, nothing less.
Love Actually (2010) in Movies ·
We watched it yesterday. Honestly? A total letdown. It felt like they didn't put any actual effort into the production. There wasn't a single funny moment to speak of, unless you count Anne Hathaway playing a Russian woman on a sexyphone. Beyond that, everything felt incredibly shallow and half-hearted. Even that one British film had some actual soul to it.

From a political and historical standpoint, the Sea was essentially a puppet territory—it was subordinate to a larger federal entity, and its core identity relied on being part of America and the dominance of the Mexican population.
I’m not getting into whether that's good or bad right now. But without those two factors, the Sea simply ceases to exist.

Gerald Wright10 said:We are going to be feeling the fallout of the ultra-nationalist movement from the nineties for a very long time. Finally, those so-called "patriots" are actually sitting behind bars now. Just look at the renaming of streets and schools. How on earth do you explain stripping the name from a school dedicated to a man murdered by Italian fascists at the very start of the war—and we all know which high school in a major coastal city we're talking about here—only to name squares and streets after convicted war criminals?? It’s pretty obvious: it’s all an attempt to rehabilitate fascism and the ultra-nationalist regime.

The 90s shaped the America we live in today.
Without Storm, we would have never joined the European Union. Calling that a "fascist act" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
