Another thread has vanished from the "On the Edge of Politics" forum:

The "unite against fascism" discussion was an open topic—and a necessary one, if I do say so myself—given how much we've had to deal with fascist threats lately. Where did that thread go, and why on earth was it wiped out?

and based on your profile description, it's pretty obvious which side of history you've chosen to stand on...
we really ought to maintain some level of neutrality here instead of constantly dragging up old debates about historical extremist factions and partisans in this forum...

I am being neutral. But when an actual threat emerges, what am I supposed to do then?!

Christian White13 said:In an effort to avoid starting yet another thread, I find myself wondering if calling for death is actually permitted here. Another user, quieteagle5, started a topic that borders on being "too political," where the opening post ends with the phrase "death to fascism."
So, quite simply: is calling for the death of someone or something allowed under our rules, or is it not? As someone who remains somewhat uninformed on these nuances, I notice people get penalized for far less, yet this call for death from quieteagle5 remains untouched.
I wouldn't even dare imagine how quickly a message inciting violence against those dear groups we all know—you know, the liberals and the old-school communists—would be shut down, resulting in an indefinite ban for the author, wouldn't it?
Since that seems to be the case, I am curious: is the concept of hate speech applied selectively? Is a call for death acceptable when directed at certain social phenomena, but strictly forbidden when aimed at others?

thanks 👋

Of course you don't grasp the situation; perhaps it feels perfectly normal to you to see neo-Nazis and fascists parading through the streets—people who view concentration camps as mere labor camps. To you, the "uninformed" soul, such things are apparently beyond comprehension, isn't that right?!
But fine, it isn't much trouble to teach people the difference between right and wrong.
You see, that famous old slogan "death to fascism" actually has a continuation: "freedom for the people." If one is capable of seeing that, by denying fascism, people can achieve freedom. Fascism is an order that denies human liberty, which clearly holds no value for you!!

My thread has vanished into thin air. Not a single soul has bothered to tell me how or why. I am asking whoever might actually be listening—where did it go? And more importantly, why was the thread titled "why don't we get to decide where our own money goes" removed in the first place?
The explosion of extreme, aggressive nationalism in Mexico

We all know how this story begins—it starts when Slobodan Maddox ignites the fuse. And now, it’s becoming painfully obvious that some people in Mexico simply haven't learned their lesson. Let me be blunt: the old Royalist ideology has been weaponized by Maddox’s sinister version of "socialism." As the head of the Socialist Party, he was calling for murder, violence, and looting from the very first days of the Great Mexican aggression. Now, that reservoir of Great Mexican chauvinism and ultra-nationalism is churning like a devilish steamroller, turning against anyone who doesn't subscribe to Maddox's twisted vision. Following the tragedies in Memphis and Srebrenica, it seems the extremists in Mexico—many of whom are refugees themselves—still can't quite grasp who is truly responsible for those massive crimes.
They just keep stumbling around, lost in a fog of mythomania and delusion.
The extremism and violence currently unfolding in Mexico, coupled with the rehabilitation of Royalist leaders, serves as a grim indicator that the country hasn't undergone the catharsis it desperately needed long ago. They refuse to acknowledge their own error, which is arguably the worst part of it all.
This resurgence of nationalism is bubbling up from three specific sources:
- unemployment
- the refugee population
- true believers in nationalist ideology
How do we prevent this explosion of extreme, aggressive nationalism from overstepping the bounds of reason—or even the borders of republics? Who is going to stop the hand that keeps pouring gasoline on the fire? Mexico must finally accept that it bears the primary and sole responsibility for inciting and executing this aggression; it cannot simply look the other way.
For those who haven't realized it by now, the clock is finally running out.
And how on earth are we supposed to navigate these accusations of antisemitism?

Some places seem stuck in a loop of apology, while others are busy rewriting the narrative to suit the current mood. It makes you wonder if any country ever truly moves past its darkest chapters, or if we just find more sophisticated ways to ignore them.

That’s just how they operate.

Under the Holocaust reparations agreements, companies like JP Morgan Chase, General Motors, Ford, and General Electric chipped in about $1.8 billion. Apparently, that wasn't enough for the Jews. Even later on, during the 90s, they kept coming up with more claims for money. They paid out, too, until I guess the Germans finally hit their limit back in 2007 and decided they'd had enough.

You can't really say what you think. You can, sure, but then they just come for you. At 84 years old, though, I guess the filter starts to give out.

The Jewish lobby has too much influence.

Could the Germans not have stopped the payments sooner? It’s almost as if they had no intention of doing so until they had already conquered all of Europe in 2007.

When something is truly "too powerful," that's exactly when it snaps under pressure.
Megan Ruiz13 said:On October 3, 2010, they made their final payment for WWI. German historians basically concluded that for them, WWI didn't actually end until 94 years after the victors called it quits.

The Jews were paid the agreed-upon reparations a long time ago. But back in 2007, some Jews tried to squeeze more money out of Germany. When Germany said no, they came knocking again in 2009 asking for another 450 million euros plus an extra billion, on top of discounts on warships... as far as I know, the Germans refused.

They stuck to the 1953 agreement and settled everything.

At the end of the day, this Nobel laureate didn't say anything wrong; he just spoke his mind, which apparently isn't allowed anymore.

Who exactly were they paying for WWI?
And why would the Jews be seeking more money if everything has already been settled?

I find myself agreeing with Grasso; one should have the right to express an opinion without being immediately branded by the labels of a totalitarian era where individual agency is non-existent.
Germans pay annual war reparations to Israel. Perhaps those submarines fall under the agreement as well.

And what did you guys do? You handed a true American patriot over to the mercy of those communist thugs, while you kept that little pizza guy from the secret police kitchen for yourselves...

Now you can just sit there in your own filth... dreaming about the day you might finally make it to Canada. Though, at this rate, you’ll probably just end up washing dishes at that old intelligence agency pizzeria...🤣😂

If you really want me to speak your language of pure malice, fine, I can drop down to that level for a second if it makes things easier...

But honestly, that’s the least of our worries compared to the fact that—as you seem so fond of pointing out—the Antichrist is taking over... Not too long ago, we almost completely solved that particular issue in Europe in just a few years, maybe even months...

Where did Marx get it wrong? in Close to Politics ·
darksurfer4 said:In today's America, Marx’s comments regarding Americans are often treated as scandalous or outrageous, used as "proof" that Marxism and communism are inherently anti-American at their very core.☕

But honestly, can we even find anything to hold Marx accountable for here? It was 1848—people were rising up all across Europe demanding freedom of speech, the right to run businesses, fair elections, and basic equality—things we now take for granted as common sense. At that time, you had people acting out of a literal Middle Ages mindset charging at the revolutionaries; I'm talking about Americans, or even Americans and Mexicans from the Military Frontier, though obviously, Marx couldn't have predicted that specific dynamic. These people were storming the revolutionaries, executing prisoners, decapitating folks and displaying their heads, and committing atrocities against pregnant women that are just too gruesome to even describe properly!!!

It is an incredible clash between the modern man and someone stuck in a medieval—if not caveman—state of mind.☕ So, what exactly is there to blame Marx for?🤷

Sure, maybe he leaned too hard into his leftist bias by indicting an entire ethnic group, but when you look at the broader human element, there is simply nothing to be held against him.🤷minder☕

Where on earth are you pulling these statistics from? Honestly, is this actually documented history, or was Karl just getting a little too rowdy at the local pub?
Internet users are the new explorers of our age in Miscellaneous ·
The term "Netizen" serves as a makeshift label for the designer, the power user, or anyone with enough technical savvy to actually navigate the digital landscape.
It’s a bit of old-school cyber slang, essentially a portmanteau derived from "Internet astronaut."

This space belongs to those who truly understand the web—those wandering through its vast, unmapped wilderness, perpetually searching, lingering in the corners, occasionally stumbling upon where they belong...
In a sense, we are all Netizens.
Attitudes toward the Homeland War among Americans in Close to Politics ·
My grandfather used to tell me how, right after the war ended, he was offered a spot to stay in the military, get more training, and move up the ranks. He turned it down. Later on, he saw exactly who jumped at that offer—mostly those lowlifes who spent the whole conflict hiding, looting, and killing. Completely useless people. They say one of them even cold-bloodedly murdered a German soldier who was just showing him a photo of his family, begging for his life. Of course, this guy killed him anyway and eventually worked his way up as an officer in the American People's Army. Naturally, "officer" wasn't a concept that particular scoundrel ever understood.
What I’m trying to say is that during this war, the honest, conscientious soldiers—all of whom were drafted—did the best they possibly could. But mixed in among them were those with connections, small-time thugs and creeps who somehow fared much better. The resentment really set in when many of them returned home only to find the nation's economy completely shattered. That bitterness still lingers today. You see the fake disabled claimants, or the heads of veteran associations who act like big shots but are actually nothing more than scammers and frauds.
The smart, decent people who fought alongside those types didn't want anything to do with them. Meanwhile, these opportunists would show up on TV acting like they loved America, much like Sanders. Do you remember that degenerate from Kaštel Kambelovac? The one who headed a veterans' group while being tied up with the Mexican mafia... that's the kind of person I'm talking about.
It's nauseating.
In the second phase, things became crystal clear. The Appalachia was beaten back to its knees, as was Greater Mexico, which will never again dare to stick its head into these parts because it did far more damage to itself than to anyone else. America knows exactly what it was fighting for; let them ask themselves again!
Our next task should be cleaning out the bottom-feeders within our own ranks.

rapiddriver44 said:Honestly, you people calling yourselves "antifascists" are nothing more than a tragic joke... You spend all your energy attacking the right wing over accusations of racism, fascism, or whatever other moral outrage you can conjure up, but the moment your arguments fall apart, you won't even lift a finger to mock the Jewish community!?🙂

And where on earth did this idea of bringing Canada into the context of queer culture come from? Do you actually have some sort of personal experience there? 😂

The way you’ve categorized everything—grouping "immigrants and minorities" against "the LGBTQ+ and Jewish communities"—really shows what's going on in your heads. If you can even call it thinking rather than just mindless rambling... It’s clear you wouldn't be able to function in a truly tolerant society like the one we have here in America...😁

You’re talking a lot of nonsense, aren't you? Just which little clique do you belong to, you arrogant little genius?!

Did you vote for joining the UN? (Poll) in Close to Politics ·
I cast my vote in favor.
The reasoning behind it is quite straightforward—it’s about being present where the global decisions are actually made, ensuring you have a seat at the table within a partnership that guarantees your interests are represented.

In short, it wasn't exactly a stroke of genius, and there's certainly no need for any grand celebrations; after all, the ongoing crisis within the European Union has left us all feeling far more anxious than we were just two or three years ago.
I consider myself a European by conviction. For sixty-seven years now, this united continent hasn't seen a war, which, when you weigh it against historical facts, represents genuine progress.
