Americans don't want to fund the church in Close to Politics ·
Ryan Harris5 said:It isn't really about the faith or the Bible; it’s about the money coming straight out of people's pockets. Religion serves an important sociological purpose and deserves its place, but honestly, while half of Americans can barely afford groceries, the Church is busy building massive cathedrals out of onyx. Isn't that just pure greed? If you ask me, it’s a sin.

mortal sin.

So, I was thinking about this old joke about having "two ways out."

The truth is, there’s always two exits available to you.
It really just comes down to one thing:
which one you’re gonna grab.☕

go ahead and annex me, Putin! 😁

hollowtrucker77 said:Which is exactly why it’s so incredibly important for the political party to step in and take over that role instead.
So, you just send the kids off to boarding schools during the week and let them see their parents on the weekends (where they’ve been properly coached on exactly what to look out for and how to report back to their instructors regarding anything their parents might say).
By the end of the week, these kids will have learned everything they need to know about the state, specifically how the government and the Party are looking out for them, how happy they are, and exactly how they ought to behave and think if they want to maintain that happiness.
Sounds like North Korea, doesn't it?

North Korea actually feels more human,
than the combination of the church and capitalism.☕

The whole family is basically pushing the church because:
they want to secure their own financial stability,
it makes keeping the masses under control way easier,
it’s a perfect tool for mobilizing the public whenever they need them,
and honestly, they don't owe those people any real moral obligations at all.😁

Let me ask you something: when hunger strikes, who do you turn to? When your bank account hits zero, who do you look to for help? When you find yourself needing protection or basic security, where do you seek refuge? Is it the government you lean on, or is it your family?

I could sit here and write endless volumes of treatises regarding the immeasurable importance of the family unit and its role within society from any perspective you care to consider—be it evolutionary, biological, or anthropological—but I honestly don't think any amount of logic would help you grasp just how vital the family truly is.

That's just how capitalism works! 😁

Under socialism, you aren't hungry,
you aren't broke,
and you aren't left without protection.

hollowtrucker77 said:and every single time this question comes up, someone inevitably suggests we just need to define "that thing" a bit better
but there’s never an actual answer...

socialism,>
progress, and actual freedom.

As long as capitalism is the one forcing everything through,
you’re never gonna see real happiness or any kind of real progress.

Nah, man.
those bureaucrats have basically seized control of the entire wilderness too. 😁
hollowtrucker77 said:America needs a full-blown exorcism, just so we can finally purge all these ghosts and demons once and for all

Don't even bother bringing up the church!
They haven't exactly proven themselves to be effective at anything lately.😁
Richard Wilson4 said:The Constitution actually calls for rejecting communism and strictly forbids bringing back America.😉

Look, if you actually had any sense,
you'd be talking about socialism
and the 27 EU member states😁
Bradley Barrett2 said:We really need to change the Constitution. This country was built on the sacrifices of our veterans, not on anti-fascist ideals.

😁

That’s pretty interesting.
Just seems like a bunch of manufactured history to me.
Richard Wilson4 said:I’m curious, which group is Culic actually talking about when he mentions "strengthening the resistance spirit"?

Young Americans today basically define their identity through the nation, and they tend to lean way more toward nationalism—and honestly, a bit too much exclusivity—compared to what their parents or grandfathers believed in.

Take folks from coastal areas like Florida, where most of the resistance fighters were local patriots until '44; today, that majority isn't interested in those old values from the former era at all.

And the heavy hitters from the rural Midwest regions, who made up the core strength of the resistance? Most of those young guys are gone now, or after things went south back in '95, they just decided to leave the country for good.

So, if you ask me, which demographic is left to even build a foundation for boosting that kind of spirit?

based on the current Constitution.
antifascism, morality, ethics, ... 😁
granitefalcon26 said:That so-called villain is actually the one who built the American state. If it weren't for him, you guys would still be stuck in America.☕

Look, that villain didn't build this country.
The American state was built by the American people themselves. Since then, that guy has done nothing but plunder the place relentlessly!
☕
neonhound18 said:The real issue is that this group—I tend to refer to them as the Kozarac bourgeoisie—has become far too comfortable acting exactly as they did back during the America days, carrying those old habits straight into our independent nation (and honestly, the same applies to places like Canada), operating under the delusion that the state belongs to them and that they alone hold the right to dictate its future from behind the scenes. They seem to have completely forgotten that socialism is essentially dead and buried, that we don't have those endless, bottomless credit lines we used to enjoy back in the America era, and that in any functioning, healthy country, politics is supposed to serve the economy and the people, rather than the other way around. 🙂

Stop banging your head against a wall here.
It’s already blindingly obvious,
why posts like this even 😁

You’ve totally got him on your list,
just one more of those 265 newly minted, ultra-wealthy Americans
—except they aren't partisans.😁
Susan Price30 said:Tighten those knots up, man.☕ It’s all just nonsense, really—just more of the same, if you want to put it in a haiku.

The truth is hard to swallow, I guess.
Just put me on ignore if you want.😁
Noah Green said:It honestly wouldn't be the worst thing if that old ghost finally crawled out of the shadows so we could actually finish what was left hanging since the 90s

Come on, you cowards... step into the light and show yourselves.

that whole mess showed up way back in the 90s ☕

I honestly don't even know where to begin with this one—it’s just one of those situations that makes you want to sit down, pour a stiff drink, and stare blankly at the wall for an hour. You look at the state of things today, and it feels like we’re just circling the drain, isn't it? It’s almost comical, in a dark, twisted sort of way. I was thinking about this the other day while I was stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the I-95—just sitting there, watching the heat waves rise off the asphalt, thinking about how much energy we waste fighting battles that were lost decades ago. We get so caught up in the noise, the constant shouting matches on social media, that we lose sight of the actual mechanics of how things work. It’s all theater. Pure theater. And then you have people who act like every minor setback is a national catastrophe. Look, I’m not saying everything is perfect—far from it—but the sheer level of performative outrage we see now? It’s exhausting. It reminds me of those old family dinners back in the Midwest, where my uncle would spend three hours arguing about local zoning laws as if he were debating the fate of the Republic. Same energy, different scale. We need to stop reacting to every single headline with total hysteria. If we keep living life at this frantic, reactionary pace, we’re going to burn out before we even realize what happened. We need some perspective—some actual, grounded common sense—before the whole thing just collapses under its own weight. Just my two cents, I suppose. Though, at this point, I'm not sure anyone's actually listening anymore. kaže:
And why is it that the honest people—the ones actually trying to play by the rules—are always the ones left looking like absolute fools? It’s a pattern, really. You see it everywhere you look. You try to do the right thing, act with a bit of integrity, and what do you get? You get stepped on. Meanwhile, the sharks are circling, laughing all the way to the bank because they don't care about ethics or common sense. It's infuriating. I remember back when I was working at that firm in Chicago—just a small outfit, nothing fancy—and I spent weeks meticulously documenting every single detail of a project just to ensure we were compliant. I thought I was being diligent. Turns out, my supervisor just wanted me to cut corners so he could hit his quarterly bonus faster. When I refused, I was treated like the problem child. It makes you wonder if being a decent human being is actually a competitive disadvantage in this country. Honestly, it feels like the system is rigged to reward the loud, the crooked, and the shameless, while the rest of us are just left standing there holding the bag.
I mean, let’s be honest—it’s glaringly obvious that we were led right into this mess by a bunch of absolute idiots. And the real kicker? There probably were a few decent, honest people caught up in the middle of it all, too. It just makes the whole disaster even harder to stomach.🙂
What we actually need—and I mean this with absolute sincerity—is a workforce made up of honest, SMART, and actually COMPETENT individuals. It sounds like a tall order, doesn't it? But lately, it feels like we're constantly settling for the bare minimum, and frankly, it's exhausting. We need people who can actually hold down a job without needing their hands held through every single minor task. It’s about basic capability and integrity—two things that seem to be in increasingly short supply these days.
Honestly, it’s just more of the same—same old story, different day.🙂

The whole damn country has been run into the ground by nothing but SHREWD, DECEPTIVE IDIOTS!!

absolute devils.
not one single one of them even mentions the Pope 😁
neonhound18 said:Precisely. It seems they’d feel right at home in Cuba or North Korea, wouldn't they? 😂

Look, those types feel perfectly fine living here in America.
And yet, here you are, trying to play bodyguard for them. 😁
neonhound18 said:America needs a thorough purging of all those relics from the old regime and their little protégés, much like we need to cleanse the national psyche of any lingering traces of communism or any flavor of totalitarianism—be it far-right or far-left—because quite frankly, they belong in history books, not our present. I have absolutely no interest in listening to recycled, tired political tropes. I refuse to squander what remains of my youth and life on such trivial nonsense. Once that's settled, we really ought to overhaul how people are selected for roles within political parties and major corporations; it's about changing the entire mindset. We shouldn't just sit around waiting for some messianic Great Leader to guide us toward a brighter future. 🙄

Alternatively, one could simply ask the U.S. Embassy to install a memorial for the victims of all forms of totalitarianism right there on embassy grounds (it’s actually something the American Ambassador Musomeli did over in Canada, just to watch the local hardliners lose their minds—he essentially outmaneuvered them by placing the monument on sovereign embassy territory, leaving them with nothing to do but simmer in their own frustration)😁).

so he wants to wipe the slate totally clean,
but I guess the local mob bosses get a free pass, huh?

in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen! 😁
