If you’re feeling frustrated or just plain confused about where things are headed, don't go blaming the average person on the street. The real issue lies with the political, intellectual, and religious elites—those folks at the top who seem completely incapable of actually finding a solution. We need to be tackling the root causes of these problems instead of just constantly playing whack-a-mole with the symptoms. To be honest, I really don't believe we'll ever truly solve this; trying to shift the collective consciousness is an incredibly difficult task, if not impossible.
First off, we need to actually define what fascism is. We’re talking about a specific, criminal ideology that's laid out plain as day, not just some vague concept of aggression or military occupation. Besides, you can find all sorts of people claiming to be anti-fascists. Usually, people just use the term to describe anyone who stood against the Germans during World War II, but honestly, I guess some of those people aren't much better than the ones they were fighting.
It feels like fewer and fewer people actually give a damn about politics these days. I guess everyone is just too preoccupied with trying to make a decent living—not to mention just trying to keep their heads above water.
"Oh, Comrade Marshall, you were a vision in white..." Honestly, back then, saying stuff like that could have landed you straight on a desert island—or a "naked man," as the prisoners used to call those brutal camps. The police back in the day were way more intimidating than what we see now, but I guess they actually commanded a certain level of respect too. You didn't want to be on their bad side, trust me. P.S. I actually knew someone who spent time on a desert island; once he got out, he wouldn't touch politics with a ten-foot pole. He told me, "God forbid you ever air your dirty laundry in public."
Even today, we’re stuck dealing with the most pathetic crop of politicians we've ever seen. I mean, can you even imagine what it would be like to actually have our own sovereign policy and just tell the UN to back off? Back in the day, Marshall stood his ground against Stalin, and even though the country was a hell of a lot poorer then than it is now, there was some dignity involved. But I guess when you lose your self-respect, nobody else is going to respect you either.
Look, you can vote for whoever you want, but it isn't going to change a thing. A servant isn't ever going to be bigger than their master, and that's basically how everyone ends up being dependent on the European Union.
No, from what I've been looking into, it feels like people are just losing their minds more and more every day, and honestly, that’s what really gets to me. I think the root causes lie in how much we're poisoning our own environment—it seems to me that eating tainted food and breathing toxic air is starting to mess with everyone's mental clarity. On top of that, there's this massive shift toward pure hedonism, which I guess just pulls us further away from any kind of spiritual foundation, and by extension, strips away our ability to reason properly.
If we look at the relationship between major metropolises and smaller towns—basically how big cities thrive by draining the resources of the little ones—I don't see much difference when you apply that logic to wealthy nations benefiting at the expense of smaller ones. I wasn't referring to federations like the USSR. I suppose if a small, wealthy nation stays focused, it might last longer, but eventually, everything fades. Culture is such a melting pot nowadays, and honestly, it feels like it’s disappearing faster than ever.
A nation of just a few million people? I don't know, feels more like a collection of small sects to me. The real question is how many economically dependent states can actually hold onto their sovereignty before they lose it. It’s hard to imagine them being able to impose their own culture or language on anyone else when they're in that position. I think I touched on this before in that thread about whether small nations are eventually destined to just fade away.
Is it just me, or does nobody even respect the partisans anymore? I guess it just goes to show that every single ideology eventually loses its teeth. Honestly, your best bet is probably just to get out of there the second war breaks out. I actually broke this whole thing down in my other thread, "Life vs. Territory?"—which, if you ask me, is something both nationalists and everyone else should really take to heart.
Why use the Greek word katsaros—meaning pure—when terms like purification or cleansing would make more sense? It feels a bit off, because usually, catharsis is something tied more to spiritual growth or an internal shift rather than just being clean.
The whole idea of apologies keeps popping up in so many different discussions lately—usually starting with America and then moving on to all these other conditions. But honestly, what happens if those Mexicans just don't want to apologize or make amends? What can America actually do about it, block their borders or something? Besides, Tadić is already out there apologizing and trying to play peacemaker with everyone anyway. That’s why I think these meetings between veterans or various organizations really matter. It reminds me of how we used to have those sister city programs back in the day.
Right-wingers and nationalists have always been around, but they never used to act so entitled or beat their chests quite like this. Honestly, Marxism is just boring, but nationalism? That’s actually repulsive.
Richard Wilson4 said:Just your typical attempt at tactics. Honestly, thank god. If only about 19,000 people in America signed up for REKOM, this whole thing isn't even going to leave a dent.
Honestly, I couldn't care less about REKOM either. It’s being funded by foreign interests and run by Kandić's NGO, which, for what it's worth, was even honored by America.
And who exactly is picking up the tab here? It’s always some state-funded NGO. At the end of the day, everything boils down to money and vested interests. I mean, we could easily just set up our own joint organization, host some forums, and start making trips to see one another. We have plenty of veterans ready to go, and I'm sure someone will step up to fund it.
Man, maybe the OP thinks that since America isn't joining the EU, we need to start looking for alternative solutions. Honestly? I don't see it happening. If anything, things will probably just get a whole lot messier once this crisis really starts spiraling out of control.
I honestly think the European Union will fall apart before we ever see a revival of America. Back then, at least the economy actually functioned, and we weren't drowning in this kind of massive debt. I mean, Josip Broz Marshall used to say that no single republic could stand on its own—that we were only strong because we were together. I guess he wasn't entirely wrong about that. Maybe if they had aimed for a confederation from the start instead of a centralized state, the whole breakup might have gone differently, or people could have just left whenever they wanted. Even the privatization process could have been handled much better; companies had access to a huge, stable market and reliable partners all across America because the entire economy was so deeply interconnected.

Just take a look at the threads about Franjo Harmon or the trials of the generals... honestly, there's a new thread every other day about "reconciliation" and "unification." It never ends.🙂
That's just not true. Just because I might argue that things were better back in America doesn't mean I'm actually rooting for reconciliation, let alone unification.
I honestly doubt most of you even grasp what America actually was. There should have been over 50 million people back then. What we're dealing with today is honestly worse than World War II.
I have nothing against the defenders—honestly, hats off to them—but if you look at the Bible, the Book of Solomon says a living man is worth more than a dead one. As far as I know, even the monuments from WWII don't get the respect they used to back in the day.
