Lump on my forehead in Health ·
Thanks so much for the help. I’m going straight to a private ENT specialist, even though I’m not exactly rolling in it 😁. My work schedule just doesn't allow me to spend months dragging myself through the endless lines at public hospitals. I did a little digging online. In San Francisco, places like the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center or Dr. Ivica Bilić’s clinic offer these kinds of services, though there isn't much info or many reviews online for Dr. Bilić specifically. Right now, this "lump" hasn't caused any major medical issues, but honestly, it's become a massive insecurity for me. It's gotten to the point where I'm actually embarrassed to take photos because it really stands out. I know exactly how to tilt my head 😁 so it doesn't show. When I go to a club, the lighting is usually dim enough, but my friends still give me these weird looks and ask what's going on with my head, so I just joke that I'm a Klingon. 😁

I think this article hits the nail on the head regarding how this works.
Lump on my forehead in Health ·
I hate being the one to start a new thread, but I’m honestly at my wit's end here. Nobody I've talked to so far has given me a straight answer about what's going on with me. Up until about five years ago, my forehead looked totally normal. Sure, I have slightly prominent brow bones, but that’s just how I was built—nothing unusual there. The issue started when the right side of my forehead, just above the eyebrow, began protruding way more than the left. It’s like I have this literal bump over my eye, making the two sides look completely asymmetrical. You notice it most in dim lighting or in high-res photos. I can't tell you how many times people have stared and asked me what happened to my face. I went to see a doctor, and they sent me in for some scans. The radiologist confirmed that my sinuses are clear, though I do deal with constant sinus pressure, specifically on that right side. The scan clearly shows a bony protrusion in that exact spot. Is it possible this bump is just old trauma from all the hits I took to the head as a kid? Or could sinus issues actually push the bone forward? Or am I just part of that tiny percentage of people born with an uneven forehead? Thanks for listening.
Prominent forehead bone bump in Health ·
Hey everyone.

About a year ago, I noticed that the bone above my right eye is way more prominent than the one on the left. I definitely inherited this look from my dad—he’s got those heavy brow ridges that a lot of people have, kind of like Roger Federer, except in my case, the ridge over my right eye sticks out much further than the left. In dim lighting, you can really see it because of the shadows, though during the day, you kind of have to squint to notice it. But enough about that—the weird part is that a few people have actually asked me if I got hit in the face somewhere.🤣 Growing up, I was always getting banged up—I probably hit my head at least five times from falls or just being clumsy. Is it actually possible for a bump like this to be caused by old injuries?
How do I stop biting my nails? in Psychology ·
Sandra Morgan2 said:Biting your nails down until they bleed involves elements of self-destruction. It’s a form of self-punishment. A clear indicator of internal struggles. There's your answer. As for consequences? Nothing major—just ugly nails.

I didn't bite my nails myself, but I think that's being way too harsh. To me, it's just a nasty habit and nothing more. Most people start doing it when they're kids, and it's super common; it's really just a matter of when someone finally kicks the habit. Only a tiny fraction of people carry it with them for their entire lives.

I’m basically a walking success story when it comes to finally quitting nail biting.😁 I was a massive nail biter. Since I was a little kid, I’d bite my nails down until they were bleeding. I tried to quit more times than I can count, but nothing ever stuck. That was until recently. I always knew it was bad, but I also figured it was just one of those annoying habits, kind of like smoking. You develop this dependency that’s incredibly hard to break because the "fix" is always right there at your fingertips. 😁 So, what actually pushed me to finally say "enough"? One day, I bit a nail down so far there was barely two or three millimeters of nail left. That was my wake-up call. I realized it was just wrong, it looked terrible, and honestly, it made me feel so insecure around other people. I used to find myself constantly hiding my hands under my palms whenever I was out in public. Then, just like that, I stopped—no elaborate prep work or anything, just a sudden decision. Now, it feels like I never even had the habit. Plus, I’ve noticed I’m actually a lot happier now that I’ve kicked this awful habit. 🙂
What's your favorite national anthem? in Close to Politics ·
What do you guys think about this one? Personally, I think it’s one of the best.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyyOahYXhUQ
The Star-Spangled Banner is my favorite, simply because it’s mine. Our anthem might lack that catchy, melodic pop feel, but it carries so much more pride and raw emotion compared to most others out there.
The Star-Spangled Banner, Italian, USA, France, Russian, German, Brazilian...
Attitudes toward the Homeland War among Americans in Close to Politics ·
Desertion during times like when the country was facing an existential crisis should be met with heavy prison sentences and hard labor. I know people who actually stepped up—Tonin Picula served, as did Ljubo Česić Rojs and Fred Matić. And if we’re talking about high-ranking officers, even Blagi Zadri lost his son, Robert, in the line of duty. It makes you wonder how you should honor him—as a fallen hero or based on what he did while he was still standing. These are facts I know for sure. Then you have guys like Damir Kajin, who loves to brag about his service during the Homeland War, but from what I’ve heard, there are massive holes in his story and he didn't actually do much. Yet, he can't stop talking about it.
Did you vote for joining the UN? (Poll) in Close to Politics ·
The fight for an independent America has never been over, and it certainly isn't over now. To me, it feels like modern-day America is even more of a puppet than the Independent State of America ever was. There is no surrender.

Need some help explaining a few political questions. in Close to Politics ·
The Christian Democratic Union is definitely the most conservative group out there, but if you're looking at the more serious players actually holding seats in Congress, it’s probably the Libertarian Party.
Do US national conservatives actually support capitalism? in Close to Politics ·
Sure, but we aren't talking about the kind of capitalism you see here in America.

Did they even bother to mention who actually commissioned and paid for this poll?

All they mentioned was that it was conducted by the Handel agency.

gentletiger11 said:NBC made their stance pretty clear a few days ago when the anchor on The New York Times read this headline: "We have some good news coming out of Brussels. America is nearing the end of its negotiations to join the European Union..."🤮 Personally, I don't see anything good about that news at all!
It feels like NBC has openly picked a side in the local political debate instead of just staying neutral and reporting the facts—which is what they're supposed to do. Honestly, looking at these poll results, I'm not even surprised.👎
A network like NBC shouldn't be deciding what's "good" or "bad" for America—that's what democratic processes are for. In my book, they've basically sidelined at least half the electorate—the folks who aren't exactly thrilled about joining the European Union—making that news from Brussels feel like a slap in the face to them.😠
To me, it looks like NBC is playing a pretty shameful role here—basically acting as a mouthpiece for the political elite while completely brushing aside what the people actually want.😳

It’s actually pretty interesting when you look at it. It feels like we're living in some kind of fake democracy where they just shove one single thesis down your throat—that joining up is nothing but a win—while you won't find a single news segment actually covering the counterarguments. Who is even representing the skeptics here? The most infuriating part is when they show up acting like they've delivered some incredible gift, while over 50% of us are basically told to just shut up and deal with it.

Richard James2 said:Look, those commissioned polls are always up for debate—nothing new there, nothing surprising. You have to keep in mind that The Government has been working overtime lately, basically doing all the heavy lifting just to polish their image for the European Union. And let’s be real, they aren't exactly allergic to pulling strings at The New York Times or messing with the polling data; we all know how that game is played.

If this referendum is actually legitimate and free from any backroom deals, no amount of outside influence—not even the seventh superpower—is going to save them.😉

Morgan Cook10 said:The results of a referendum are always "real"... at least when it comes to these kinds of questions. Sure, the public can be totally swayed by media spin... but who can really blame them?🤷

I honestly have no clue, man.🤷I’ll be the first to admit it: I’ve always been a bit of a conspiracy theorist.🤣It’s always the same story with Americans—how they try to bend everything to suit their own agenda. They love to pull the strings. Honestly, they’ve been playing these manipulation games for over a decade now, yet they still haven't managed to successfully steer us when it comes to our relationship with the European Union. Their only real win has been this psychological ploy to lump us in with the Middle East. And the worst part? It’s working. Slowly but surely, the people here have just started accepting that label as reality.

Morgan Cook10 said:The Prime Minister already touched on this over at Apple! He basically explained that these Gallup polls are always rigged with leading questions just to get the specific result they want... so there's really no need to lose sleep over it. Like I said before, when the referendum actually happens, the people will make their own voices heard. Whatever the public decides, I'm down with it.🤷

Now we just have to sit through the inevitable wave of pro-EU propaganda, funded half by the government and half by the European Union.

That’s exactly the point. Do you think the referendum results will be realistic—actually reflect what the people truly voted for?😕I’m worried the public won't even get a fair shake. I'm convinced Americans are against this and will stay opposed to the European Union.
Lies in The New York Times in Close to Politics ·
It’s pretty funny how they claimed they were up by 40% before pivoting to say "as many as" 40% of Americans are against the European Union.😁 John Doe, as if they could ever be convincing—"AS MANY AS"!!! Isn't it more likely closer to 80%?😁
