Joseph Rivera75 said:This question is pretty mindless, honestly. Being conned or being the con artist isn't some binary choice you can just pick from a menu in a hypothetical scenario.
Besides, even for the most selfless person out there, survival instinct is a thing. At the end of the day, people are wired to look out for number one.
I’d give my left arm—literally—for a mother willing to throw her life away to save her kid.
But for everything else? It’s easy to sit on a soapbox acting all moral and full of love for humanity, but real life works differently. People choose themselves. It’s just easier to live with yourself that way.

Not really, though—people sacrifice themselves for total strangers all the time, let alone for someone they actually love.
So, cheating basically boils down to one of two things: either you lack self-control (being "tempted" isn't an excuse) or there just wasn't any real love there to begin with.
Neither of those scenarios works for me. I mean, let's be real—deceiving someone is deceiving someone, plain and simple.
Richard Brown7 said:It’s the same story with mine. We aren't even friends anymore because of a bunch of other issues, but I guess that’s just how it all goes—it all comes as a package deal.

Once trust is broken, it's gone for good.
jadeowl2 said:Or hey, maybe he actually tried something and they blew him off, so now he's just looking for payback. Could totally be that...

Sure, could be—but then we're talking some much heavier stuff. 🙄

Like—Blood and Water style. 😲
😁
Kevin Barrett22 said:People usually take my word for things when I make a recommendation—so naturally, they figure they might as well try a little bit of it themselves...🙄

Maybe they were just testing the guy out, and he immediately jumped to thinking they were hitting on him.
Basically, his ego gets a boost (because let’s be real, would he think anything else?), but then he tells you they're being difficult—which could just be because they're annoying him. Typical guy move.
Kevin Barrett22 said:I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been out and told some random guy, "Hold on, let me go check on my friend," only for him—or the whole group—to chime in with some snide comment about how she isn't *actually* my friend... basically implying they were all throwing themselves at her.
Honestly, compared to me, they don't stand a chance—they just come off as pathetic little 🙄
I’m not even in touch with one of them anymore... and the connection with the other is pretty thin at best...
But I didn't bother reacting to those miserable little attempts at relevance... I just quietly filed them away under "not worth my time" in the back of my mind...

It's hard to pull that off in real life because women can be pretty flirtatious in how they communicate.
It works if she acts more like a sister or whatever (though you definitely hear stories about people overstepping).
Basically, she just needs to be chill toward your boyfriend.
Keith Johnson56 said:Oh, absolutely!!! I learned that one the hard way. Back when I was married, two women were all over me—and they weren't even friends with my ex, just random acquaintances.
Once the divorce went through, it was like someone flipped a light switch; suddenly, I wasn't interesting to them anymore.
And look, I haven't changed—I was the same guy before, during, and after the marriage. So clearly, it isn't about me—it's probably some weird sexual fetish or whatever they've got going on...

So basically, you gotta bluff. Pretend you're taken.
How do you "smell" like a family man if you aren't actually one, just to boost those odds?

I was a guy for a week once, but then I transitioned, so there wasn't really any advantage anyway.

Never really dealt with depression—maybe a little during the winter months. That’s about all I can say about it.

Saw the avatar, you put a photo up.
Best way to do it.

Roger Reed4 said:You seem like fun at parties with your little existential depression.🍿 Want to hit the movies?🕺 🤣

I'd go to the movies, you asking me?.. but you're a guy and a total kickboxing fanatic, man—it just wouldn't work. 😁

On the flip side, I'm always an optimist.

Once you're here, everything's crystal clear.
Otherwise, people would just be hanging out at coffee shops, stressing out and scrolling endlessly on their phones.
Seriously, you aren't missing a thing. Just fake drugs, existential crises—you know the drill.

I don't really have those needs anymore.
But hanging out with good people? That's always a boost.

Hannah Bailey4 said:I’m convinced Russia is going to see this through to the end and ramp up their involvement as much as necessary. The more the West punishes them, the less they actually have left to lose. We’ve already exhausted almost every meaningful sanction available, so there isn't much left to do. Furthermore, the notion that we could squeeze China using potential secondary sanctions is pure wishful thinking.

China wants their Belt and Road initiative.
There are still ways to push back on that
Especially if they start helping Putin out with high-end electronics

The main thing is making sure they tell the nutcase in Moscow that nukes are strictly off the table.

Melissa Rivera5 said:Honestly, it’s not even really a question... there’d just be more war and total chaos in Canada. Once UA goes, things would probably spread over to the Baltic and Poland too.

I mean, at some point, it’s bound to hit Russia itself.

So what now—do the turbines just keep pumping gas regardless of the loss, just to make sure seawater doesn't get inside the pipes?

Does that seem excessive to you?

Quinn:
It will be operated at an inlet pressure of up to 218 bar at a reference elevation of MSL +50m and a minimum outlet pressure of 103 bar

Honestly, I'm not even surprised... an industrial gas cylinder carries enough pressure to be scary.

But what I'm getting at is—you don't need much external force to rupture a seamless pipe (rolled steel material).
Just some kind of mine and—boom.

stormyangler32 said:Location matters—it plays a role in where you set the charge. Theoretically, if you could punch a hole through a pipe and shove the explosive right inside, you’d need way less stuff to cause massive destruction. This was definitely handled by pros, and honestly, neither side is going to claim responsibility for this kind of work.

Maybe a torpedo, or even better, an anti-submarine mine.
Don't think they overcomplicated things too much.

Not sure if I read this right... apparently there was 100 atmospheres of gas pressure in the barrel.
Seems a bit high to me, but maybe it's just a typo in the report.

Either way, the barrel material was already pushed to the limit—designed to hold just enough to function.

Playing a role and an underwater blast.
Basically saying you need less explosives.
It’s like 700kg—but looking at seismic readings
Is that actually realistic..? They have formulas for these calculations

Timothy Nelson5 said:I mean, okay, but then again—what's the actual point? If you're sending over a bunch of drunks, retirees, guys from Ingushetia and Dagestan carrying rusted-out AKs, telling them to buy their own sleeping bags and decent boots, and basically expecting them to just raid a car for first aid supplies... I guess it's all pretty pointless, isn't it?

The whole idea behind this mobilization is just raw numbers.

Just deploy them to fill the holes left by losses—then have seasoned, battle-hardened vets and officers run the show. Throw in some politically loyalists too, like an NKVD type... I mean, they're already threatening "decimation" (you know, shooting every tenth man) just to keep everyone in line and crush any mutiny.
Kind of like the Red Army.

Linda Collins3 said:Yeah, right. Democracy is definitely their top priority...

The real question is what the average Ukrainian actually cares about. Especially now, given all the blood and suffering they've endured.
I'm thinking the whole process is already heading West—no turning back at this point.
Once the war wraps up—if it ends anytime soon—they're looking at years of transition ahead.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
They’re mobilizing guys up to sixty.
Mix that in with the actual young crowd—you know, starting from 18 and up—and you basically don't have an army at all.
