Robert Cox46 said:Nico Rosberg wasn't ahead of Lewis at any point + Lewis had the inside line on the corner. How was he supposed to give way?

When exactly was Fernando Alonso ever ahead of Kevin Magnussen, and why does it even matter if he was or wasn't?😍
Jason Campbell70 said:If this were an isolated incident, you might actually believe that.

But this whole thing is just a continuation of the drama following Nico Rosberg.

And why is that?
Simply because British journalists are the absolute overlords of F1 media...

Let's be real: regarding that collision, Rosberg isn't any more at fault than Lewis Hamilton.
Just two stubborn guys who refused to back down... Hamilton got the better end of the deal, plain and simple. ☕

P. S. If the roles were reversed—if Lewis was behind and Rosberg was ahead—you can bet your life they'd be blaming Rosberg all over again. 😍

Seriously though 🙏🤣🤣🤣
If you want to kill someone, just look at this mess. There is zero chance we’d be dealing with this kind of absolute garbage if Ross Brawn were still running the show...
Right when they took off—basically when Sebastian Vettel moved...
image

That moment when almost everyone else had already bolted...
image

Just a bunch of mechanics swarming the car, including those geniuses standing right behind it...
It looks like nobody even bothered to clear them out. 😳

So much for cable management...
Usually, all mechanics have to be clear of the track 15 seconds before the lights go out and the cars launch...
dustycyclist19 said:And Ricciardo just flew over that section in a helicopter😂😂

Not quite, but close. He was diving on Alonso from the inside, so he ended up way off the edge of the track at that moment...
Plus, visibility isn't great, but I think Vettel and maybe even Alonso picked up a piece of Rosberg's wing, not just Hamilton's tire...
graniteharbor502 said:personally, I’m against penalizing stuff like this -> I’d just give warnings for situations like this

This is exactly the kind of mess that needs a heavy penalty, not a slap on the wrist.
It’s not like some mechanic was a second late jumping on the grid; this is straight-up putting lives at risk in the worst way possible.😳

Just imagine if someone behind him had tried to launch properly and ran right over one of the crew.
I haven't seen a more dangerous situation since... well, ever, and even *that* got the crew hit with a massive penalty.
Sure, they could have cooked up a scheme to give the driver a light penalty while crushing the crew, but this is just ridiculous.
At the end of the day, just go read the rulebook and see what it actually says about this.😍

As for Magnussen, he definitely earned his penalty, but it's a joke that his punishment is four times larger than the penalty for Ferrari's stupidity.
It should have been the same, if not smaller.
graniteharbor502 said:I disagree. A warning should have been plenty for this one.

Exactly. That’s why just a few races ago, they handed out a stop-and-go penalty for something way less serious. One mechanic was late by a single second and they slapped the driver with that penalty...
But I guess those rules don't apply to Ferrari. 😁
Gary Palmer8 said:So what exactly did Hamilton pull off in Canada???
Didn't he slow down three seconds per lap just to let Rosberg catch up?

Oh, he absolutely pulled it off, working hand-in-hand with Lowe and Toto Wolff...
First, they tell Rosberg for several laps that Hamilton is pulling away and he shouldn't bother attacking him. Then, of course, Hamilton ignores them entirely and acts like a genius with lines like "if someone can overtake me..."
Honestly, the whole Mercedes basket is just full of rotten apples...
They could at least grow some balls and just publicly state they want Hamilton to win the title and be done with it, instead of playing these shady games.
And look, Hamilton was perfectly polite to the crew and his teammate, sure, but he's the golden boy, so everyone forgives him instantly.😍

Rosberg is a coward too, but the guy doesn't have much choice if he wants to survive.
It's hard to beat Hamilton when he's dialed in, especially when it's blindingly obvious the entire team is on his side...

To be honest, I’d love to see anyone else take the title besides Hamilton. Personally, I'd even prefer seeing Alonso win over both Rosberg and Hamilton.😁
The chaos has officially begun. 🤣

Man, look at the face on Rosberg. 🙏🤣
I bet Ham is about to lose his mind now that he’s been told it was intentional. Honestly, he deserves it after that whole mess back in Canada. 😁

I’m dying to know which clown among those three Mercedes bosses—who clearly can't even agree on who's actually in charge—made this call. 😍

Meanwhile, I bet Brawn is just sitting back, watching the fireworks, thinking, "Serves you right. This is what happens when you don't have one actual leader running the show." 😍
Michael Diaz4 said:Magnussen got screwed over...

The penalty was way too harsh, even if it wasn't totally baseless...
Basically, if Ferrari deserved five seconds, then Magnussen only deserved a one-second penalty. 😁
Williams found out Massa picked up chunks of Hamilton's tire, which explains why he was deathly slow in S2...
Vettel finished right behind Hamilton, and honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if his car was also littered with tire debris (especially given that inexplicably slow S2), plus there's a good chance Alonso picked some up too since he was right behind Vettel at the time...

Bottom line? The FIA completely blew it today on every single level.

First off, Alonso should have been DQ'd right before the start or hit with a heavy penalty—even though it’s not even his fault,
but the driver and the team win together and lose together. If the team screws up this badly, unfortunately, the driver has to pay the price.

Second, they really should have thrown an SC out there after seeing all those tire fragments and pieces of Rosberg's wing scattered across the track...

Third, there's no way Magnussen deserved a 20-second penalty if Alonso—meaning Ferrari—only got 5 seconds for that absolute mess.🙄
That last part might actually be the worst of the whole damn thing.🙂
Drew Bennett68 said:Maggie took a 20-second penalty.

Seriously, have they no shame?🤣🤣🤣
God, what a joke.🤦

Not like I didn't see this coming. A 5-second penalty wouldn't have been enough to get him ahead of Alonso anyway.😍 😁
Jason Campbell70 said:How on earth does Vettel have a faster lap than Richard? 😁

That's just painful 😢
http://macofan.com/en/index.php?page...&gp=927&graf=3

Fresh softs versus mediums that are already 17 laps old... and the gap is barely 0.050 seconds.
Bottom line: this was a race where Rick was miles better than Vettel.
Jason Campbell70 said:That bump just cost someone 18 points in the championship.

For sure.😁

It’s pure clumsiness mixed with some insane luck for Rosberg...
And if he did that on purpose, then he’s officially the GOAT. 🙏
There is zero chance anyone could aim that precisely—thinking they'd pop the tire of the guy ahead with their own wing (which they definitely snapped off in the process).
John Ross55 said:It's a shame Mladen isn't posting anymore. His stuff was always a hit for engagement, and I'm pretty sure he was actually at Indianapolis Motor Speedway🙂

I swear I thought I heard him yelling Buuuuuu too🤣
Do you think he was the only one who heard it, or was someone else there with him?🤷
Patrick Bailey4 said:Maestro pulled off another solid race

Yeah, real solid race—if you count slamming into the guys who just passed you like some total Maldonado move🤣
But no, I guess it’s gotta be a Maestralan utrka🙏🤣
Edward Howard2 said:It’s got nothing to do with the fans...

Where was that mercenary hanging out before Maestro got hit with his penalty?
Just like every other race so far—Maestro is right behind.

He's 13 seconds behind Maestro, and that's even with his pit stop already out of the way. 😁
Yeah, right. Like Maestro would've pulled it off if he hadn't gotten penalized for that "brilliant" pit stop where he decided to change his own tires in 12 seconds. 😍

Edward Howard2 said:It’s easy to play general after the race is over and claim Maestro didn't shine today. But let's look at the facts: before that penalty hit, he was ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Since Kimi finished fourth, we’ll never actually know where he would've landed if he hadn't been slapped with a penalty he didn't even cause. Would he have just scraped fourth, or would he be standing on the podium in third? That penalty completely wrecked his rhythm and tanked his final result. Honestly, without dealing with Verstappen, Perez, and all that nonsense, he wouldn't even be fighting for scraps right now—he'd probably be up there battling the Ferraris for a podium spot.

I see some people are still living in a total fantasy land...😁

That was one hell of an interesting race. Especially that whole mess with the penalty...

This is hands down the biggest officiating disaster the FIA has ever pulled. 🙄
I’m generally against penalizing drivers for stuff like this, but if they’re handing out 10-second stop-and-go penalties and 10-place grid drops this season, then Ricco deserves it. That wheel didn't even fly off the car, and he wasn't even out of the pits yet. Total overkill.
So, a five-second penalty just for putting the mechanics at risk during the start? Seriously? 🤦
Ferrari definitely deserves some kind of draconian penalty after that race. 😳
Drew Bennett68 said:Ricco was a second faster than Vettel.

Actually, it wasn't just a second—it was more like a second and a half...
Vettel was usually quicker in S1 and S3, but he’d drop about 1 to 1.5 seconds, sometimes even 2, during S2. 😕
It was pretty much like that the whole race. Clearly, there was a massive mess with the setup, which isn't exactly shocking since he barely drove in practice...

All in all, things went fine. Honestly, I didn't expect him to crack the top 5...
Jason Campbell70 said:From what I could see, he lost way less time there than Richard did when he went off at Blanchimont.

And where exactly were you watching this? 🤷
They didn't even show Alonso going off on the broadcast; they just mentioned it, and LT said he spun out at Eau Rouge...
Jason Campbell70 said:Yeah, sure, totally.

Right, and I guess it doesn't count that Alonso went flying off track at Eau Rouge 😍
nor does it matter that despite the crash, Ric managed to clock his fastest sector time on that exact lap. 😁
