Roger Wright94 said:There’s one big thing people need to wrap their heads around.

When Kimi joined McLaren 2007, he stepped into a car that wasn't being developed specifically for him.
On top of that, he had to switch tire brands during that transition. They were a massive departure from what he’d been used to for years.

So, he managed to absorb two massive changes at the highest level of racing. That’s pure talent right there.

In my view, the cars were competitive, just not dominant. Comparing them would be way easier if Michael Schumacher had stayed at Ferrari in 2007 instead.

It's obvious that was the issue for Kimi... and even more obvious that his title was totally earned and deserved.😍

But the cars were neck-and-neck, and let's not forget that Lewis Hamilton and Alonso dealt with the exact same issues... as far as I know, neither of them were fully dialed in with McLaren the season before either.

Honestly, claiming he snatched a title away from some dominant McLaren is just ridiculous nonsense... total nonsense.

To win any championship, you need a car capable of winning and one that dominates at least some aspect of the field.☕

Take that guy we mentioned earlier with his spreadsheets and math, claiming Nico Rosberg won a title in one of the slowest—meaning worst—cars ever...
a yet he conveniently forgets that the car was also the most reliable, and he won precisely because of that reliability and consistency.
Michael Diaz4 said:But pulling fastest laps on those OLD tires, barely staying above a 1:50, is just insane... Sebastian Vettel is a freaking genius, seriously...

For sure. 👍
If only Nico Rosberg hadn't run into issues, he would've walked away with the win thanks to the SC and some brilliant strategy...

Then we'd all be hearing nothing but nonsense. 🤦
jadeseal7 said:Go ahead, open that link and actually do some homework. Are you seriously trying to tell me Vettel worked harder once Rosberg left? 🤣🤣

What exactly are you not getting?
He absolutely maxed out that stint, but let’s be real: a huge chunk of that lead came from Nico Rosberg rather than just that insane Red Bull car being untouchable.
And Vettel went straight to the pits right after Rosberg because his tires were shot after 27 laps. What part of that don't you get?🤷

By the way, according to you, Ferrari’s car is basically a spaceship when it comes to tire management. 😲
Thirty-six laps on used medium tires. That's it. 😲
shadowhawk24 said:The bottom of the article says Kimi and then two other cars had to dodge him, which is when Lewis Hamilton cut the curb 😁

Damn, they're fast 🙏
When I was reading and linking this, it said:
....
Alonso's stationary Ferrari forced two cars behind to take avoiding action
more to follow...

😁
Daniel James8 said:Look, we aren't deaf, so stop the shouting. It’s a fact that Lauda is sucking up to Vettel and Dietrich Mateschitz—but let’s be real, you always seem to see things differently when you’re wearing fan goggles...

Fine, maybe he's playing nice with Vettel if he wants him at Mercedes...
But give me one good reason why on earth he'd be sucking up to Dietrich Mateschitz.🤣😂
jadeseal7 said:Their cars were pretty much identical; it just came down to who had a better race. Meanwhile, Red Bull has a car that’s clearly dominating.

2.2 seconds per lap on old tires... yeah, sure. Like Vettel is somehow *that* much better than everyone else. Give me a break.

Do you even watch the races?
Do you even listen to the team radio?

Are you aware that Rosberg had a technical issue and was driving times comparable to a Force India?
Or did Rosberg just hold up the entire pack? Or did Alonso suddenly develop superhuman strength and squeeze out every last atom of speed to pull a lap even faster than Vettel the second Rosberg pitted?

http://en.mclarenf-1.com/index.php?p...nando%20Alonso

Niki Lauda was right—some people seriously have zero clue how Formula 1 works.☕
Roger Wright94 said:What year are we talking about? 2005? Or... what?
Doesn't matter which one you pick, you're still wrong. 😂

So you're seriously telling me the McLaren 2007 was drastically better than the Ferrari?
Roger Wright94, give me a break.😁

Worst case scenario, they were neck and neck.
darkmarlin16 said:I don't live on Google like you do, so I have zero need to "dig up" that info.

🙂

Btw Fernando Alonso deserved to get Mark Webber a 10-place grid penalty in Korea.
That's what friends are for, 😍
.
Btw, I'm actually dying to see the footage and find out which two cars almost sent them flying...
graniteharbor502 said:It really depended on the track—sometimes Ferrari had the edge, sometimes it was McLaren. I wouldn't go so far as to say the Ferrari was actually better than the McLaren back in 2007.

Nothing special, but definitely wasn't a worse car.☕
jadeseal7 said:9 wins for Ferrari and 8 for McLaren... basically a dead heat. Both cars were solid, especially after that last race.

Yeah? And how many of those were PP's Ferrari wins versus FL's Ferrari wins?
And let's not ignore the fact that out of McLaren's 8 wins, Lewis Hamilton snatched 6 of them—and he's easily the best single-lap driver out there alongside Sebastian Vettel.
By that logic, Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso aren't even in his league. Even Massinha, with his 6 wins that season, would be right up there with Hamilton when it comes to qualifying pace.
David Anderson72 said:http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/form...ngapur-2680630 Alonso showed exactly how big he is—he practically dragged Webber back to the pits, while Vettel wouldn't even lift a finger to help his teammate.

So yeah, no wonder the crowd was cheering for him while Vettel just got ignored. 🙏

What, should Vettel have just pulled over on the track and put it in reverse?🤣🤣🤣

I mean, come on, do you even know where Webber was on the track versus where Vettel was?
Daniel James8 said:...but he said it on ESPN multiple times (back when he was calling games with König).
And his praise for Vettel? Please. What else would you expect from an Austrian working for a German team besides sucking up to the German driver in the Austrian squad?

Hamilton, Rosberg, Mercedes
They’re fighting for titles, but apparently, he’s just obsessed with where the Austrian stands.🤣

He went out of his way to compliment Lotus and Ferrari, then called his own team cowards because they didn't pull a single driver into the pits during the SC... definitely a little jab at Brawn.😁
darkmarlin16 said:33 wins, all from the first two rows. Honestly, I don't think he ever even won from 4th place.🙏

He drove one of his better races today... yeah, right. Give me a break.👍

Now try finding a time he started below 4th and ended up ahead of Mass.😁
Catch you in a week once you've dug up that stat.😂
jadeseal7 said:I’ll just say this: how long have you actually been following Formula 1? Do you even realize what kind of junk car that General Motors was running back then? Alonso pulled a miracle out of thin air to win with that thing. You clearly don't know a thing about F1. Enjoy it while it lasts, because nothing stays good forever.

Calling Alonso's 2008 Singapore win a masterpiece🙄
Are you trolling Ferrari fans and Alonso supporters, or are you just some kid who doesn't know any better?

That General Motors car was garbage.🤣
The same car that put that loser Nelson Piquet on the podium?
That car🤣

Even the mediocre pay drivers currently in Formula 1 aren't nearly as bad as Nelson Piquet was.☕

Sure, Alonso has had some absolutely legendary wins, but using 2008 as his benchmark isn't an insult to him—it's just plain wrong. ☕
Tyler Bennett5 said:I’ll take your word for it just like I believe TBF1 when they claim the Red Bull isn't a dominant car right now.

Oh, sure, because Red Bull is *definitely* dominating right now.😁
On behalf of all the fans, I’d like to personally thank my mom, Pilatus, 4season, and the entire crew who spent years praying for a dominant Red Bull.😍

By the way, it’s nowhere near as dominant as it looks at first glance...
A huge chunk of that gap was thanks to slow Nico Rosberg, who had tire debris stuck in his front wing and ended up bottlenecking the whole pack...
If that hadn't happened, even with Ferrari's brilliant strategy and Fernando Alonso's stellar driving (giving him credit where it's due this time 🙏), who knows? The win might have actually been in jeopardy because of the Safety Car and missing the pit window...

But hey, Red Bull is totally dominant now, and they'll probably be even better.😁
jadeseal7 said:You want me to say McLaren wasn't dominant that year? Please. They were all neck and neck right up until the final race. Just look at what Kimi did in that McLaren back in 2005—the guy could drag that car to the finish line even if it had the horsepower of a Yugo hitting 93 miles/h.

Vettel has a monster of a car, and when he doesn't, he's nowhere to be found. That tells you everything you need to know about him. Total joke.

Look, regardless of anything else... and I mean this even though I absolutely love Kimi and was pulling for him those seasons... if we aren't being blind, the best car was the Ferrari, not the McLaren.
David Anderson72 said:He’s honestly the only driver who ever gave a damn about anything, let alone now. That tells you everything you need to know.

If they keep this up, it wouldn't be a stretch to see them bring back those old-school studio interviews. 🙂

I heard on ESPN that fans were losing their minds at the British Grand Prix back when Michael Schumacher broke his leg...
This current crowd? They're nothing compared to that level of insanity.🙄
graniteharbor502 said:Sebastian Vettel just absolutely demolished the field! What a driver. He’s straight up cruising toward GOAT status.

Niki Lauda actually took his hat off and bowed to Sebastian Vettel after the race today. 🙏🙏🙏
The guys over at ESPN are freaking out, saying they’ve literally never seen Lauda without that hat on before. 😲🤣
He even claimed Sebastian Vettel deserved four titles just for today's performance, because he's never seen a driver pull off a better race than that. 😳

Oh, and he also mentioned that those Ferrari fans acting up under the grandstands don't know the first thing about Formula 1—just total amateurs. 🤣
Funny enough, everyone else in the paddock seems to agree that they have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. 🤣
rustycobra32 said:So, is Daniel Ricciardo the new savior for Red Bull Racing??

Our second driver is basically just there to help Fernando Alonso fight for the championship.😁
Otherwise, things would be pretty boring. 😬 🤣 🤣 🤣
Roger Wright94 said:b) If Felipe doesn't listen, he's gone. Poof. Instant firing. Just bring in anyone else for the next race.

I'm all for it.😁
Mainly because I just want to see Kamui in NASCAR.😍🤣
