Who's the absolute GOAT? in Movies ·
I’m actually working on a school project about Benicio, and honestly, he is hands down the hottest guy out there! Aaaaaaaah, I can't even!🙂
Troy in Movies ·
Seriously, what are you guys talking about with Brad Pitt? He’s a total legend, but honestly, I'm just here because Orlando Bloom makes my day much better...🙂
Big Fish in Movies ·
I watched it yesterday and honestly, it was just beautiful. I actually went into the theater feeling totally down—not really sure why—but walking out? It felt like I was floating. It put me in such a great mood! The cinematography is gorgeous, right up my alley, and it had me laughing until I cried. It’s such a sweet story about how there’s nothing wrong with a little exaggeration; in fact, that's what gives everything its special charm. If life were just a collection of cold, hard facts, it would be pretty dull. I wasn't always the biggest fan of Ewan, but he was great here, especially alongside Billy Crudup. There must be something so fulfilling about making a movie centered on imagination; most people just dream, but this makes those dreams feel tangible and sweet. Just lovely. Haha, and that part where the baby is born? Pure legend! 👍
Yes! With those beautiful sunny days finally rolling in, it would be absolutely perfect to round everything out with some great tunes. Here are my picks

This makes me feel sick
Queen

And you guys? You put Linkin Park just because you're jealous you aren't as good-looking as Chester😁 (I'm honestly loving how much this is getting under your skin)
Jennifer Lopez in Movies ·
You guys are all over the place here, but honestly, it’s obvious this is exactly what those Hollywood big shots want. It doesn't matter if he's actually good; as long as everyone is talking about him, they win.
As for Jennifer Lopez—nothing special, really. There are definitely better performers out there, though I suppose there are worse too...
Bruce Almighty in Movies ·
Nighthawk said:So, let me get this straight—if I mention someone’s mom, God, and a damn chicken in the same sentence (especially during a prayer), his mother is just going to give birth to a new Messiah?

It’s probably worth taking a quick look at whether your response to a quote actually has anything to do with what was said in the first place...

I’m really not a fan of movies centered around God or those that try to push faith on the audience. If you believe, cool—if you don't, that's fine too. It should be a totally personal choice. While the movie does have some classic Jim Carrey antics, everything falls flat at the end when he suddenly realizes God exists and starts believing just because his girlfriend asked him to. It felt unnecessary, pointless, and honestly pretty disappointing...
Lost in translation in Movies ·
I watched it. I really liked it! The atmosphere in the movie is great because there’s this sense of freedom and just breaking all the rules. Scarlett looks amazing and was absolutely perfect for the role. I actually watched it when I was feeling pretty down, but if you stick with it, you realize that the struggle eventually pays off and something beautiful is coming. While that good part is happening, you might not even notice it, but you'll definitely have an interesting time. Once it finally clicks, you realize just how far you've come and that anything is possible. Some people might not think it's anything special, but for me... it was lovely. Definitely worth a watch regardless.🙂
The Wizard of Oz in Movies ·
Oh man, watching this with Sam at home is easily my favorite sweet little movie night!
There isn’t some deep, profound message here, but it’s definitely worth a watch. Crowe is such a classic master and commander; I honestly can't think of anyone who fits that role better. He’s at his best when he’s playing the violin, and I love how he turns out to be this charming optimist at the end. From now on, whenever I need the salt, I’m just going to make a serious face and say in my deepest voice, "Could you pass the salt, please?" Boy, that young captain is just adorable, and the doctor is pretty good too. What can I say? I’ve reached that stage where I find myself watching the actors more than actually following the plot, though the story is still engaging. The most impactful moments for me were when they had to let that one guy drown to save the rest and when they gave the ship a whole new look. Russell doesn't play badly either—he can carry 200 pounds and still look powerful, well, as much as you can!
Movie Soundtracks and Their Composers in Movies ·
These are those tracks that just stick with you, even years later.
The score from Titanic by James Horner—specifically Rose and "Take her to sea, mr. murdoch."

Such a brilliant mind. I'm not sure about the composer's name, but this piece is called "Kaleidoscope of mathematics."

And pass it on! Like Pay It Forward (starring Kevin Spacey, Haley Joel Osment, and Helen Hunt), where Thomas Newman - Possibility was composed.

All three of these are absolute classics.
Pirates of the Caribbean (2003) in Movies ·
The movie was a blast, though I definitely had to wait a while before seeing Orlando Bloom and his leading lady finally share a hug!🙂
Orlando Bloom is incredibly handsome, and Johnny Depp is just fantastic 🙂
X-Men 2 (2003) in Movies ·
I caught it on May 1st at a local pub downtown with my old classmates. The movie was decent, but during those last 15 minutes, I just lost it—I couldn't stop grinning like a total goofball. I have no idea what came over me! There was this little gap near the drink holder, so I grabbed my Jamnica and started pretending I was flying a plane.😁
But seriously, why isn't it written X-Men?
High Fidelity in Movies ·
I just watched this movie for the second time, and wow, I am absolutely floored! I’m such a sucker for films where you can actually see yourself in the characters—where you can really step into their shoes and see the world through their eyes. This one was such a profound lesson for me, too. It shows how he spent his whole life since he was fourteen dreaming about this idealized version of perfection, totally lost in the clouds. But then he starts questioning things and realizes that wasn't real love, because with those girls, there were never any actual struggles to face together. He finally understands that true love is being with the person you argue with and work through the messy stuff with, because that's what reality is. I especially loved how he proposed—it was so spontaneous, almost like he didn't even have to think about it; the words just flowed out because it was so natural. There is something so beautiful about being with someone who truly hears you and understands you. Also, that scene in the car when they were getting intimate after Laura lost her dad... I really felt like he truly understood her in that moment. He realized she didn't want to sit around grieving; she just wanted to forget everything for a little while. And honestly, I love it when he gets frustrated and just lets it all out—sometimes you just need that! I could also sense his deep desire to prove that his past breakups weren't his fault, but just fate, because life doesn't always go according to plan.
The guys working at the shop are great, too. Like how Dick was always so shy, and then that moment where he shuts down that annoying Ian who kept meddling with Laura.
Finally, a movie where people actually have the same taste in music as I do!
I loved his "top 5" list of jobs, even though he eventually realizes he's just selling records. And his top 5 breakups? Number five was some girl he basically checked off the list just so he'd have room for Laura in his life. 🙂
The vibe reminds me a lot of Almost Famous. You can really feel that rush of adrenaline and what it's like to be on stage.
John Cusack is absolutely perfect for this role. One of his exes is Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is stunning, but the movie does such a great job showing that she's actually pretty hollow on the inside. All in all, it's amazing!
P.S. You really need to be prepared for this one. (I had just finished watching another movie and stumbled upon this one without thinking much about it, so I ended up lying in bed afterward just processing everything and letting all the pieces fall into place).
The Man Who Wasn't There in Movies ·
Around the 2/3 mark, the movie was actually super tense and engaging, but then it felt like they lost their way a bit. On another note, Thornton totally nails that "barber" line!
Cringey American movie tropes in Movies ·
It's just like in Saving Private Ryan, where they mess everything up by putting the American flag at the end.

Gianluca Vialli said:...you know... even David Hasselhof sings a little... he can pull it off too...😉 😉 😁

Buahahahah! That’s basically "Crazy for You," where there's a guy on a motorcycle wearing a leather jacket with an eagle on it!😁 😎
