Robin Rodriguez5 said:AIKIDO = Aligning with Ki (or, to put it bluntly, tapping into your raw energy)
When it comes to the spiritual side of things, I think we need to be talking about Ki Aikido rather than what most people call "standard" Aikido these days.

Ki Aikido is merely another cultish approach to a good idea, implying you must belong to a specific group to achieve any level of spirituality (whatever that means to anyone). Ueshiba simply called the system Aikido. It is obvious that by adding "Ki" before Aikido, someone was trying to appear incredibly important and unique, even though "ki" is already inherent in the original term (ai-KI-do); doubling it is both redundant and thoughtless.

Incidentally, Tohei's style is called Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido. However, specifically emphasizing that you are unifying mind and body (shin shin toitsu) is absurd, especially when used to differentiate styles. Every martial art involves the unification of mind and body. Chopping onions for lunch requires the unification of mind and body. Sweeping the floor is an act performed with Kim, because as long as you are alive, you cannot escape it.

There is a certain healing quality to singing. However, people tend to obsess over the lyrics rather than simply singing and enjoying the moment. It is the rhythm and the breath that actually heal, release tension, and lift the spirit. Words often just act as a distraction from being present by conjuring up images and triggering old memories.

James Allen2 said:Look, I realize this isn't exactly the standard topic for this sub, but I’m hoping we aren't going to act like some closed-off cult that shuts down anything outside its own narrow lane; I’m actually looking for some genuine help here. I just want to hear what everyone thinks from their various spiritual perspectives. Is there really something wrong with asking that? To me, spirituality isn't about following any specific religion—it’s about self-discovery and finally gaining the power to take control of one's own life.

Nothing passes by you to be controlled; rather, you are the one passing through. You should abandon the idea of control, as it is merely an unnecessary problem you have manufactured for yourself. It is just another illusion you chase while being part of a spontaneous process that occurs simply because it can—which you happen to call "life."

Jesus is the only Way, and there is no other way!!!!!

I believed in everything you did, which makes me your ally. Don't try to tell me what I believe, because the details are irrelevant now.

When I was in your position, I didn't struggle even half as much as I did against what I advocate for now. I was even the leader of a New Age community, but once I experienced the freedom found in Jesus—that fullness of fullness—I realized You are the King of the Universe and the only one who truly exists; everything else is just delusion and spiritual coddling.

You can go through all the motions and do everything Jesus commanded, but if you aren't doing it under His guidance—specifically through the Holy Spirit—then you aren't truly a child of God. This means being a child of God is reserved solely for those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord, Master, and Savior...

The Holy Spirit is our gift here on Earth; He is the one who executes God's will in this world. Without Him, you are connected only to one entity, and that is Satan. Whether you are aware of it or not, he maintains his influence over you until you choose to let Jesus into your life. Only Jesus holds authority over Satan; no one else does.

Satan is a spiritual being who commands a kingdom of dark forces—spirits that are entirely subject to him and carry out his work. This includes spirits of lust, spirits of addiction, spirits of religiousness, spirits of sorrow, and spirits of depression. Each of these specializes in exerting pressure on human thoughts. Essentially, the thoughts you receive come from either God—via the Holy Spirit or angels—or from Satan and his spirits. They attempt to steer your thinking toward their own counsel or push you to act in ways that are not pleasing to God.

Satan's greatest victory is when a person has absolutely no idea he even exists. God said, "My people perish for lack of knowledge."
Therefore, Satan’s strategy is to keep you trapped in delusions and behaviors that dishonor God so that he may maintain control over you. His ultimate goal is to ensure you do not find salvation through Jesus, leading you to a place where God does not want you: Hell.

There it is. That is the reality of the matter. If I am not being perfectly clear, it is simply because I am speaking from my own personal insights; I don't possess the specific gift that some of my friends have to articulate these things in a way that is effortlessly accessible to everyone.

I will say it again: one cannot enter into divine mysteries without the Holy Spirit guiding them. There is often a counter-pressure from a spirit whose sole purpose is to prevent you from understanding. In those moments, the Holy Spirit is not acting as your guide; rather, that other spirit is exerting influence. That spirit has the power to cloud your mind and block spiritual insight. It doesn't even matter which specific spirit it is—all that matters is that it is not from God.
Why? Because children of God exist only within the shelter of Jesus. Why only through Jesus? Because God is one, and he who has no Son has no Father. That is what the Bible says, and it is what I have become convinced of after a long period of searching through various alternative paths and such.

I bless you in Jesus's name, and I pray that the Lord Jesus grants you all the knowledge of Him that you need to live out the fullness of life that God intended for us—both here and in Heaven with Him forever. Amen.

Brian Foster3 said:Look, we have to actually define what awakening even means first. It’s nothing more than the direct perception of the spiritual realm. And since the spiritual world is made up of different levels, there are obviously different levels of being awakened.

The truth is simply whatever the person perceiving the spiritual is actually experiencing. That’s how they feel the spiritual reality—as the absolute truth. Compared to that, everything else is just a total lie.

And let's get one thing straight: both lie and truth still exist as categories (they don't just vanish) after that initial awakening and while you're climbing those spiritual rungs all the way back to the Source.

Honestly, arguing and philosophizing about what counts as truth versus a lie from a spiritual standpoint is just useless, empty work. You just have to get there, and once you do, everything becomes more than crystal clear. That’s the only thing that matters. Just get there.

Look, if you were working on your physique and building muscle mass, you could pull out a tape measure, track your dimensions, create some sort of "range" charts, and divide your progress into stages—assigning importance to those stages, maybe even earning colored belts to feel accomplished because you gained a few inches.

But here, you have decided to attempt to measure the immeasurable, dividing this unquantifiable state into tiers and attaching specific traits to them. 😕 I suspect you simply read this in the literature you study and accepted it as fact. In other words, you BELIEVE it to be true. However, spiritual ladders are mere metaphors; isn't it foolish to believe in a metaphor? Isn't it as absurd as trying to eat a menu instead of the actual food at a restaurant?

feralhound55 said:Thank God for this magic tool that explains exactly what we were trying to say... and for those American translations—since apparently, not everyone on this forum understands plain English and needs things translated back into their own dialect so they can finally grasp them. It’s always fascinating how someone can squeeze so much "wisdom" out of just a few sentences. Honestly, you should be a psychoanalyst if you aren't one already. 👍

Since you're clearly such an oracle, I'm curious why you can't tell the difference between being critical and just being a jerk (which, in my case, is just trashing people out of pure ego). If my refusal to spit on anyone who disagrees with me puts me in the category of the mentally incompetent, then fine—I'll happily take my place in that drawer.

Thanks for all the effort you put into overanalyzing my posts—it's impressive how you managed to project so much onto my five or six measly sentences.

As for Ronin, if he ever actually asks for an explanation, I'll give him one. I don't feel particularly obligated to explain myself to people who didn't ask. And if you happen to find a single post where I actually called the guy stupid, please, let the moderators kick me off the forum. You're the only one here using that tone, yet somehow, you're the one calling it stupid.

Regardless of Edward Flores4's defense of "me," which was unnecessary, it was clear I shouldn't bother bothering you with explanations; if you didn't catch my point the first time, perhaps you aren't meant to. I read somewhere else that your choice of phrasing was quite peculiar, so I thought we should just move on. It's trivial.

Apparently, these "spiritual gurus" are expected to have conquered their egos by now.

You’d think spirituality and psychology circles would have fewer of those bottom-feeders, but somehow, they actually have more.

At the end of the day, everyone has the freedom to read what they want, ignore what they don't, reply to whoever they feel like, and stay silent when they don't—and we should probably extend that same courtesy to everyone else.

And what reason could that possibly be?

People keep diving into these spiritual and psychological topics. Some just do it to stir the pot, mostly because they get a kick out of provoking people who think they’re smarter than everyone else—people who claim to see things others supposedly miss.

-Then there are those searching for a kindred spirit, someone to speak their "spiritual language," just so they can feel validated while arguing with everyone else.

-And we have these self-proclaimed "spiritualists" and "scientists" who basically spend their entire lives theorizing until it reaches a point of absurdity... it honestly becomes embarrassing for them.

I get the ones who make it obvious they're just here for the attention, using vulgarity to trigger reactions. But I don't quite understand the ones who present themselves as being so level-headed, only to immediately discredit themselves by engaging in cheap bickering with "their own kind" or anyone on the "other side."

Is it possible to imagine a scenario where people discussing spirituality would simply ignore those trying to grab attention through infantile outbursts?
Would that say something about the maturity of that group?

Maybe these "spiritualists" are just stuck in this loop of fighting with "us" versus "them" because it feels more exciting than actually caring about other people's experiences.

What does the "Spirituality" PDF actually represent?

Since you felt the urge to perform such deep self-analysis, why not share something useful with the general public? Surely there is some practice you could articulate and actually make sense of.

Jacob Jackson50 said:Look, jademarlin26, I think a lot of people treat this forum like some kind of battlefield—it's all about duality, winning vs. losing, constant struggle. They get so caught up in the fear of having to let go of who they used to be that they just burn out. That fear breeds this weird anger that clouds everything, making it impossible to actually see what's going on in their own lives. So instead of actually living, they just retreat into deep philosophy and mental gymnastics, drifting even further away from actually experiencing life.

Without dancing to the rhythm of shifting opposites, there is no momentum, no movement, and ultimately, no life.
Jacob Jackson50 said:I respect your fatalistic take on life. Truly. It’s your choice. Just a quick heads-up though—since you jumped into the spirituality thread, you might have missed the fact that there's also a whole separate discussion going on about religion.

I am unsure how to respond to your "respect" for a stance that doesn't actually exist. But, since I refuse to let this go: when you suppress and hide things from yourself for long enough, they eventually manifest as fate. Feel free to apply that logic wherever you see fit.
Jacob Jackson50 said:But seriously, doesn't the "why" behind all this constant shifting fascinate you? Why does everything have to change in the first place? Honestly, my own little personal dramas and goals feel pretty insignificant compared to those massive, eye-opening insights.

Because they can. Otherwise, they wouldn't. 🙂 There is no point in trying to sell oneself on some elaborate cause-and-effect theory when that isn't how the world works.
Jacob Jackson50 said:Honestly, we don't even need to waste a ton of breath talking about the massive shifts happening in the world right now. Everything is moving at breakneck speed, forcing us to come up with entirely new ways to make sense of reality—and more importantly, ourselves. We’re looking at deep, sweeping transformations across every single level of existence, whether we're ready for them or not. To actually get it, you have to dive headfirst into the core of what transformation really means, whether it's personal growth or something much larger. And let's be real: digging that deep takes guts. It takes the kind of discipline required to actually live an authentic life, which naturally brings us back to the whole spirituality thing. Now, before anyone gets weird about it, I'm not saying people aren't spiritual. It's actually the exact opposite. Everyone is inherently spiritual at their core, but we've just stopped checking in with our own integrity. We've somehow lost touch with that natural goodness we were born with. We're living in a society that doesn't give it much thought either, working alongside people who don't exactly champion a "cleaner" way of living—both in thought and action. People are "contaminated," honestly; they're prone to swallowing half-truths and outright lies. It's all just part of the game, so I'm not judging. But despite all that noise, deep down, everyone just wants to live in alignment with their own truth.

Transformation is simply a reaction to understanding—or as you put it, "deep insight." How can one dive into the process when you are the very subject being transformed? You can only dive deeply into the essence of the "problem," the understanding of which will ultimately change you.
