Pain is kind of a vibe, honestly—it really hits you with those zingers 😬

Lalalalalalala... oh man, I am just sooooooooooooo out of it right now... lalalalalala...

He's behind him—but like, way, way back in the distance:
I don't even know where to start with this one—it’s just total nonsense, honestly. Like, what are we even talking about? It's all just noise at this point.
Man, nothing hits quite like those super thick, sugary juices from when we were kids—you know the ones? I’m talking about that syrupy, neon-colored stuff that basically felt like drinking melted candy. Honestly, looking back, my teeth probably owe a massive apology to my parents for all that sugar. It’s wild how much we used to crave that artificial stuff, just pure liquid nostalgia in a plastic cup.
Man, I was just thinking about all those different Fructal juices—you know, like that old-school stuff you’d grab at the corner store back in the day? Honestly, looking through the whole lineup makes me realize how much I miss those classic flavors. It's kind of wild how many options there are once you really start looking.
Blackcurrant—and I mean the real deal, like that Schneekopf stuff or whatever the hell they call it these days.
I don't even know where to start with this one—it’s just one of those things that sticks in your craw, you know? Like, I was sitting there thinking about it, and honestly, it’s just wild. It’s one of those situations where you look at the facts and just go, "Really? That's what we're doing now?" It feels totally off, like trying to eat a burger with a spoon—just fundamentally wrong. Anyway, I'm probably overthinking it, but whatever. Just my two cents.

🙂 Flavor Aid rocks.

😍 Anyone got a clue when they might actually start playing? I've got some stuff I gotta take care of tonight 🙄
How to build real self-confidence? in Psychology ·
Some might call it confidence, others just plain old ignorance. It’s back in the spring of '92—late evening, mind you—sitting in a second-class coach on a train cutting through the heart of America, heading from the North down South... Two older guys (in the States, we'd probably just call them rednecks rather than "gentlemen") are deep in conversation about the upcoming elections.

So, these two fellas in their 50s—let's call them the younger one and the older one—are hashing out their political preferences. Now, I'm just eavesdropping on fragments here, but it’s pretty obvious the older guy is a die-hard anti-communist who wouldn't give a single vote to those folks if his life depended on it. The younger guy agrees with the anti-communist sentiment, but he seems to be leaning more towards our local favorite, Savannah, while feeling a bit skeptical and frankly suspicious of Harmon. And that's where we jump in:

"I mean, come on, even Harmon was a communist at heart, wasn't he? He was a US Army general!" says the younger guy.

"No, he wasn't!" the older man snaps back.

"What do you mean he wasn't, man?!" (the younger one, obviously).

"He wasn't, he just wasn't!" — and at that point, the older guy just closes his tired eyes and drifts right off to sleep...

Carol Jackson45 said:So, I’m guessing you were probably glued to the TV whenever Baywatch was on, huh? 😈

Oh man, nooooo! Not this! 😁

Look, let's get one thing straight—we’re talking movies here, not TV shows. The list above specifically says films. Honestly? I haven't even managed to sit through a single sequel to Baywatch from start to finish. It's just... ugh. And don't even get me started on the acting (ha, yeah, "acting"). Those actors really ought to be out there actually surfing themselves instead of letting stunt doubles do all the heavy lifting. 😁
Best ocean movies? in Movies ·
Shout out to all my fellow surfers out there. Honestly, I can barely stomach the absolute garbage they try to pass off as "surfing movies" lately—if the acting is trash or the director clearly has no clue what it’s actually like to be out in the water, I’m out.

I mean, I'll watch pretty much anything if it hits right... even those weirdly intense scenes where people are just tearing it up (you know, without any cars involved).

Did it ever cross your mind to just burst into tears of joy? Or—if that’s too much work—maybe just start chopping some onions instead. 😁 😉

Anyway, just go get some rest.

I heard somewhere that you should be wearing glasses. Wait, no—you don't even wear glasses. 😉 You're still rocking a CRT monitor, right?

So, apparently, the trick is to get some non-prescription glasses. The theory is that those old monitors basically blast dust straight into your eyes.

But honestly, if you’re on a laptop or staring at an LCD screen all day, the symptoms probably have more to do with eye strain than actual dust. That would just make sense, wouldn't it?

Sadly, you can become allergic to basically anything at any point in your life...

So, "porking the piggy." Yeah... I'm definitely stealing that one. 😁
unknown said:don't be so hard on yourself—just keep writing👍

Now, I know people are gonna think I'm totally tripping for asking someone to call me out on my nonsense. But honestly? I don't care. Look, Lucy just posted some stuff about health over in the Wellness section—I'm definitely not getting dragged into that drama—but what I *actually* wanted to write about was my favorite sequence from Pulp Fiction. You know the one—where B. Willis finally breaks free from those two psychos downstairs, heads up to the shop, and starts browsing through his options for payback (I can't quite remember if they were tied up or just knocked out, whatever). So, he goes upstairs and the first thing he grabs is a baseball bat, but then he spots a chainsaw. He picks it up, checks it out, thinks, "Yeah, this is solid, this is powerful, this is how I'm gonna handle these creeps," and then... then he sees the samurai sword!

That’s basically what I was trying to get out right this second.
electricdriver78 said:Edward Price73 - what's yours looking like these days? 😕

Seriously, Sandra Moore, what do you actually know about this personally?

Just because you're working in "paradise" doesn't mean everyone else is enjoying the view.

👎

I mean, seriously, what kind of person thinks a "valley of tears" is some kind of paradise?

Anyway—side note—I find myself typing out a whole thought, then deleting it because I feel like an idiot, so I end up posting nothing at all. Am I losing my mind here? 😕 I’m still lurking and reading everything though, so maybe that counts for something.

Man, this movie is absolute gold. I caught it on MTV the other day—seriously, do yourself a favor and watch it. It’s... well, it’s super personal, if you know what I mean. Just really hits home.

silentpilot6 said:Man, looking back at how much better things used to be... honestly, it’s kind of wild. Everything feels so different now—everything just feels watered down, you know? Like we traded all that actual soul and grit for something shiny and mass-produced. I miss when things had some teeth. It’s like everything went from being real to just being... whatever. Just a total bummer if you ask me.😕
It’s always that same old story—"everything was better back then." Honestly, we say it all the time. I guess it’s just hardwired into our DNA or something. We're basically programmed to be nostalgic.

boldeagle3 said:Of course it was a better vibe... honestly, even today I still get punks coming up to me like, "Man, why wasn't I born back then? Just a few years earlier, just a tiny bit sooner," you know?

Maybe you’re actually vibing more with how things are looking today?
A flying squad—you know, like when you just catch 'em off guard with a quick move? Total game changer.

Yeah, that’s how the whole conversation usually goes—people start rambling about the "good old days" or some "golden era" nonsense—and then, suddenly, everything else just starts looking like a downhill slide.

Listen, you really gotta be careful about who you listen to when they start talking about "the good old days" of pop culture. Some people are just—let’s call it what it is—stuck in a nostalgia loop because those were their glory days, or maybe they just feel like they missed out on some massive cultural shift. Then you’ve got the others who might actually have a point about how certain eras just exploded overnight—like that brief, insane musical peak where everything felt huge before it kind of just... bled out everywhere. I'm not trying to get all deep and lecture anyone here—definitely not the vibe right now—but seriously, just go watch the movie and enjoy the damn thing.

Aaron Smith10 said:The biggest "paranoia" I get is this nagging feeling of "I am NEVER lighting up another cigarette again"—but then again, maybe one day I will... for now, I’m just here to cheer you guys on... keep going, people!
you guys can totally do this!! 👋

Why paranoia? I mean, once you get stronger and actually focus on what matters—once you break free from being a slave to it—you can probably afford a tiny little slip-up here and there... if it even feels like a big deal.

Take me, for example. I’ve counted myself as a non-smoker for these last 5 years, though I did "allow" myself a stray cigarette every now and then (maybe a pack would pile up over a whole year, and usually I’d just crush it halfway through because it wasn't even that great)—just a smoke with dinner & good company & some THC (tobacco-free) once in a while.

What helped me back in the day—and what I’m trying again now—is not just setting one single goal, but rather "raising the stakes." Basically, I set these extra little side goals for myself; nothing too crazy, nothing too easy either, and they have to be simple; the main focus has to stay on the tobacco.

For instance, my secondary goals right now are cutting back on soda (like Coke) and most of my coffee—so, basically reducing caffeine and sugar. Once we master that, I'll come up with something else, etc.
Tips for quitting smoking! in Health ·
Cutting back just doesn't work—at least not for me. I’ve been clean since New Year's Day, but honestly, this isn't my first rodeo. I actually managed to stay quit for almost five years before I finally buckled about three years ago. Work stress, man... it just gets to you.

Like I was saying, trying to just "reduce" how much I smoke never actually stuck whenever I attempted to quit. I just couldn't seem to police that specific amount once I started.

Oh, and side note—I actually cut out coffee during the first week just to break those "linked habits." It was strictly green tea and fruit teas for me. But as of yesterday, I’ve started "allowing" myself maybe one or two coffees at the office.

Support, though... yeah, that's the real key.
