Steven Allen9 said:Why did they pull the thread about that folk dance in a small town?

It got deleted. We already have a thread about that small town, and honestly, you just started a new one to stir the pot. Sorry I didn't give you a heads-up sooner.

Nope.

There’s no evidence here to suggest this is just a clone of a banned user.
Let's keep things civil on this thread. No messing around or acting foolish. This time, only a newcomer was penalized, but next time, I won't be showing any favoritism.
Just making a quick note here that Morgan Williams definitely won't be starting any threads about examples next season.
stormyharbor13 said:So, I had an idea (if I have enough time) to start a thread for the Russian Premier League 2012/2013 season. I expect there will be quite a bit of coverage in the American media this year.☕
I believe the league kicks off next weekend, and this is actually the first time they are playing on a fall/spring calendar like most other major leagues.
Since I’m still a bit of an amateur when it comes to some things, it might be a pretty modest intro, but even so, it could serve as a decent way to follow the season and discuss it.
What I wanted to ask is if any volunteers would be willing to help me out toward the end by inserting a few images into certain parts of the intro? I’ve never done this here before—just things like stadium shots, logos, flags, etc. Nothing too crazy. If anyone can help, please send me a PM; it would mean a lot, and I think it would result in another interesting topic for the board.
Thanks.

P.S. I should probably start working on the intro and gathering data on teams, rosters, and other stats tomorrow, so I hope to have it all put together by Tuesday or Wednesday.
P.S.2. Please, no calling me out for a lack of creativity in the intro or for lacking flair or whatever. It’s more important to just get things moving from a standstill; the rest will come with time.😁

That’s a great idea, and count me in to help, darkmarlin16. I’ve always appreciated that kind of teamwork.

No need, I know exactly what I meant by that. And I know exactly what it implies. Honestly, I’m pretty sure most people reading this right now feel the same way. I'm just not in the mood to be lectured.

But look, here is the deal: the rules on Forum.hr state that violating US laws is strictly prohibited. Now, the highest law of the land—the US Constitution—clearly defines which language and script are used officially. Therefore, using any other language is technically a violation of US law, which makes it a violation of the forum rules too.

If you aren't happy with that, then maybe you should take some action to get the forum rules changed, but please leave those personal ad hominem attacks in that PDF-style political rhetoric for some other debate...

In official capacities. I assume you understand what that means. Even the most incompetent lawyer wouldn't argue that a single post in a foreign language on this forum is unconstitutional.

What ad hominem attacks? What are you even talking about?

Are we actually going to discuss the rules of this forum, or are we just going to keep talking about rotten eggs?

I honestly have no idea.

I haven't the slightest clue what you're getting at, and besides, there isn't a single rule on this forum that forbids posting in a foreign language.

brightcrane56 said:I have to say, that comparison doesn't really hold water. Almost everyone speaks English nowadays, yet we still classify it as a foreign language. You all might want to be careful about the metrics and stances you take on this issue, because you really need to apply that same standard to every single language out there.

The whole Mexican situation is particularly sensitive because when the US was separating from America, there were demands made for Mexicans to be recognized as a constituent people within the Republic of America—essentially arguing that the US should be a state for both Americans and Mexicans—which directly paved the way for the aggression against us. Treating the American and Mexican languages as equals feeds right into that old ideology. Besides, the US Constitution clearly defines which language and script are officially used.

Besides, nobody is stopping anyone from tossing in a word or a phrase—even a full sentence—in English if it just makes sense for the conversation.

Let’s not turn trivial matters into politics without any real reason. We even had a Vice President of Congress speaking Mexican during much tougher times, and we all managed to get through it together without any fallout.

Henry Hernandez7 said:So, I wanted to ask—what kind of moderators are we actually dealing with here on this football forum?

They're fantastic. Truly top-tier guys, experts with an incredible eye for the game and a deep intuition for how things move on the field. They've got all the technical and tactical knowledge down pat. Of course, I’m being figurative there; I don't mean they're out on the pitch, just that they're experts at moderating the football threads.

I don't want to lead you on. I'm sorry, but it’s just not happening. You haven't given me any reason to believe you've earned it.

Henry Hernandez7 said:I’m curious about something. When it comes to deciding whether to pull a partial, is that a unanimous vote among you mods? Or do I have the power to just let things slide on my own discretion for a bit, Alex Cook?

At the end of the day, we’re all in this together. One for all, and all for one.

Henry Hernandez7 said:I’d love to hear what all my executioners think about this.

What kind of executioner actually shows mercy? I mean, have you ever heard of a compassionate executioner? Like, "Citizen Marie Antoinette, I'm in a good mood today, just head on home." That’s not how history works. Or maybe, "Excuse me, Madam Witch, I can't burn you today—I inhaled too much smoke yesterday and my eyes are still stinging, plus it looks like rain."
Gregory Harris8 said:So what's the move? Do I drop the cash on a ticket just to see them, or do I pass and foolishly pray they'll decide to swing back through for a headlining show sometime down the road?

Honestly, I'm stuck in that exact same dilemma.
When is New Order playing? Honestly, I feel like we could all just head over to Central Park right about now
You're right. I ended up cutting off the Europa League and Football on TV and streaming services.

Anthony Cook70 said:I’m not trying to dismiss anyone else's perspective here, but I think I was pretty clear about who I was looking to for an answer.

The admins can't give you an answer until the relevant moderators weigh in, which is why Alex Cook stepped up and explained everything perfectly.
Besides, like redviper32 pointed out—and thanks for that input—Messi doesn't have dwarfism. But even if he did, making excessive jokes about someone's physical disability isn't okay, even on a soccer subforum, which we already moderate more loosely than the other sections. Your comments didn't just cross the line; they blew right past it.
In this specific instance, you weren't banned out of nowhere. You received a warning beforehand. You chose to ignore it, and then you got the red flag to show we mean business. It's up to you now. Either you stop using those "friendly little jabs," or we'll be seeing you from the banned list.
