Is anyone here taking Lexapro? If you are, I wanted to point out something important. There’s a drug called Citadel that some doctors prescribe as a substitute for Lexapro. With Citadel, you don't have to pay an extra copay, whereas Lexapro can run you about $17 extra per box. But here's the catch: they aren't actually the same thing. Citadel uses the generic name (citalopram), while Lexapro is escitalopram. So, there really is a distinct difference between the two.
As for how well they work—honestly, I was being a bit cheap and switched over to Citadel. Big mistake. My anxiety and panic attacks actually got worse. I've since moved back to Lexapro, and I'm feeling much better now.👍

What you’re describing sounds like syncope—basically a brief loss of consciousness. It might be a lingering effect from the anesthesia, but I wouldn't bet on it. Either way, she really needs a thorough checkup from an internist and a neurologist. She should probably head straight to her pediatrician to get those referrals moving right away.👍
The worst moderator selection! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The truth is, we’re always convinced the mods are getting it wrong and that we're definitely the ones in the right.🙄
But there are two sides to every story. I can say for a fact that I've never been banned without being the one who actually deserved it.
At the end of the day, moderators are just regular people. They're going to make mistakes sometimes. 🙂

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Well, you're clearly a medical marvel then. It seems like everyone else found some value in posting here, except for you.🙄>

I figured I’d weigh in too. Honestly, I’m not sure who this thread actually helped, because it certainly didn't help me. Some people here weren't exactly welcoming, and there was even some outright insults that nobody bothered to moderate. 😲That’s why I decided to stop posting in this thread.😢
I’m pretty bummed that they took down the over-30s section. I was really getting into it. Most people were actually pretty cool.
Some even ended up hanging out in person!
Wait, isn't that PDF titled "lonely heart"?
Are we all just going to end up more of a lonely heart after this?😢😢😢

The stay-at-home era will end once men actually start working again.
Until then, there's a point in life where a woman should take on the homemaker role while the man acts as the provider.
That’s assuming, obviously, that they actually want kids.
Just because I'm 27 and still waiting on my third child—while currently busy raising my other two—doesn't mean I'm someone you can't hold a conversation with.
I had my first daughter when I was 25.
By the time I hit 25, I had already checked off so many boxes, things some people don't manage to do in an entire lifetime... and in my case, it wasn't just about finishing college or landing a job, it was way more significant than that.

Look, I guarantee no intellectual woman out there would agree with you. 😍
And honestly, life is about more than just a degree and a steady paycheck. That shouldn't be the finish line.👍

I’ve had really great results with Cipralex. The only thing was that it made me a little extra sleepy, so I ended up taking a nap during the day. Other than that, I didn't notice any other side effects.
When it comes to benzos, I think valium at 0.25 is better than Ativan. It actually does a better job of calming me down.👍 Ativan just knocks me out completely.
Olivia Rivera77 said:Look, sorry, but you clearly don't know the half of why I actually walked away from my job. Where I was working, my boss was constantly harassing me on a daily basis... imagine having a manager tell you something like, "Man, you have no idea how much I want you... I was showering last night just thinking about you." What am I supposed to do? Stick around and listen to some creepy predator who could be my father? You never know the full story, so don't be so incredibly rude. And yeah, maybe right now I'm leaning on my husband, but that doesn't make me an idiot or mean I'm never going back to work. Honestly, I'm looking at this time off as a chance to decompress and recharge my batteries. So, please, stop judging me and calling my choices "stupid." You don't have that right because you don't know me.

Yeah, sure. I'm sure a job is just waiting around the corner for you. You'll probably be a manager by next week.😂 The era of the stay-at-home wife is over. Nowadays, with divorce being so common, women really need to be independent. Not that I'm trying to sound like some feminist activist here.😁
But seriously, I couldn't respect a woman who just stayed home and had nothing to talk about.👎
Honestly, quitting your job just to have kids seems pretty reckless to me. You lose all your independence and end up completely dependent on your husband. It’s just not smart. At the end of the day, women aren't just machines built for childbearing.
Olivia Rivera77 said:I used to be exactly where you are right now...
It’s like I just didn't have the energy to care about helping anyone, including myself. I was lazy about everything, and my go-to excuse was always, "Oh, don't blame me, it's just my zodiac sign." Yeah, sure, whatever you say—I was a Pisces through and through, both sun and rising, so I really leaned into that nonsense. Then the depression hit, and it wasn't just a phase; it was a total shutdown. I couldn't function in social settings at all. I felt like a complete loser in every aspect of my life.
I honestly convinced myself that I was a lost cause. I had zero accomplishments to my name, no hobbies, no goals—absolutely nothing. I was stuck in this soul-crushing job that I absolutely loathed, but I stayed because I was too terrified to take a risk or even make a move.
But then one day, I just reached my limit with playing the victim. I realized people were starting to write me off as an idiot because I’d completely withdrawn from my friends; we had nothing to talk about anymore, and I was just drifting. Once I finally scraped together enough courage to change, I took action. First, I saw a psychiatrist. Then, I quit that awful job. Around that same time, I decided I wanted to start a family, and when I had my baby girl, my entire world shifted. She became my foundation. She gave me the strength to actually fight for a life worth living, rather than just existing. If I can give you any advice, it's this: find that one thing that makes you feel alive and just go for it. The hardest part is simply breaking the inertia. Once you get moving, everything else starts falling into place. You've got this.

ps. Honestly, I'd grab a coffee with you in a heartbeat if I could.
🙂
🙂

The first things you did to snap out of it were quitting your job and having a kid? Seriously?? That sounds totally reckless.😂🤣
Where on earth did you come from? You're clearly lost. It's the 21st century, for crying out loud.😂
vividtiger50 said:I’m just a clone, obviously, so I know exactly how much people hate clickbait headlines. 😍
I’m not entirely sure what I’m hoping to achieve by starting this thread; maybe I just need a little bit of support, or even some insults or sympathy—honestly, anything just to feel like someone is talking to me, because I feel incredibly lonely. 😢

So, I guess I should start from the beginning. Back in high school, I was an excellent student without ever really having to try, which meant I never actually developed any real work ethic. I managed to get into the university I wanted without much trouble and moved away from my small hometown to this massive city. When the first deadlines rolled around, I passed a couple of exams, and then suddenly—just like that—everything changed. College felt pointless, I realized it wasn't what I actually wanted to do, and I just lost all motivation to study. I ended up spending most of the next two months just lying around the house, watching TV, or out drinking. Since attendance isn't strictly mandatory at my university, I took full advantage of that, and for the next few months, the campus didn't see me at all. By the time the next round of finals came, I hadn't passed a single thing, and that continued for the next three years. As my friends from school started moving into their senior years, we had less and less to talk about, our schedules stopped lining up, and bit by bit, I just drifted away. Yeah, I don't have anyone. I grew distant from everyone back home, lost touch with the people from college, and honestly, I don't even know who I could grab a coffee with tomorrow if I wanted to.

I'm 23 now, and I have no idea what my future holds. I don't have any real job skills to speak of, so I can't exactly be independent and stop relying on my parents, though I suppose I don't spend too much money since, as I mentioned, I have no one to go out with. I've basically locked myself in my apartment and stopped leaving. A few times a week I'll head to the grocery store or maybe take a short walk, but the rest of my time is spent in front of the TV or online; I've written ten thousand posts here, for goodness' sake. 😳

Nothing brings me joy anymore; every day feels identical. I only change out of my pajamas under very unusual circumstances, and I feel quite pathetic. I'm no expert, but I suspect I might be dealing with depression. There have been moments where I've thought about just ending it all to stop this stagnation, but I'm quickly snapped back to reality by the thought that I have no friends and no one would even show up to my funeral, which would lead my mom to realize things aren't as great as I tell her they are. 😢

I realize that my behavior is terribly childish and immature; I'm aware of it all. I spend my nights crying and feeling desperate, feeling small and worthless and ashamed, yet I just can't seem to force myself to change. I'll sit down to study, and then my mind just drifts away, and that's that. I don't know, I really don't. And I suppose I'm doing this for selfish reasons, just wanting to find some relief for my soul.

If anyone actually read this, I apologize for venting like this, but I feel a little bit better now. 😢

Look. You're not even old. Go to the university library and study there. You'll meet people your own age. You'll actually have stuff to talk about. The upside of repeating a year is that you're constantly meeting new people. 😂
Just kidding, but seriously, listen to me. Locking yourself behind four walls hasn't helped anyone. 👍
Why are people so obsessed with being someone they're not? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Unfortunately, if you want to be considered "cool," you’re expected to brag about partying all night and having a revolving door of partners. Being the good kid, the nerd, or the loner without much of a social life—or a significant other—has never been "in." Those types have always been labeled as total outsiders.
If she isn't out on the town much, she probably just wants to be accepted. She doesn't want everyone to write her off as just some bookworm. That's why she makes things up.

Why do people act so cruelly toward one another? It usually boils down to jealousy, a thirst for revenge, or just plain old petty motives. If you want to dive deep, check out my other thread

Well, maybe you'd understand if you were stuck living on some frozen island in Alaska.😂🤣

My natural state? Honestly, I just head downtown for a quick stroll and grab a coffee. Or, if I really need to decompress, I’ll retreat to the bathroom and soak in some hot
water. It does wonders for the nerves! 🙂

My body's default setting is pure melancholy. Honestly, sometimes a bullet to the head feels like the only fix, though maybe I'd just overdose first.

Maybe try having more sex; you won't feel so blue, and you won't spend all day nitpicking threads and diagnosing yourself with every symptom under the sun.😂🤣

Have more sex, and you won't feel so blue or go down those rabbit holes trying to diagnose every little symptom you find.😂🤣
