Who are your favorite moderators, Vasa? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
driftingdriver said:God, how many suck-ups and brown-nosers can you find in one place? 😁 Just kidding, I'm sure the mods have their hands full dealing with all those bans. 😉

I’ve always felt that the best moderators are the ones who are practically invisible, almost as if they aren't even there. Yet, the moment you actually need them, they appear instantly. Beyond that, those kinds of mods earn genuine respect from everyone on the subforum because they don't just go hunting for people to ban; they try to handle things through private messages first, and if a warning doesn't work, they might temporarily lock a heated thread just to give everyone a chance to cool down while they figure out what's happening...

Their subforums might not be the most crowded or the most deserted, but the quality remains high; the posts are constructive, and everyone feels comfortable enough to make themselves at home... they are forum members first and moderators second...

That is the kind of moderation that actually works.

honestly, sounds like pure anxiety to me... nothing to do with anything else, just all in your head. Is this hitting you randomly or has it been constant?
neonhound10 said:We’re all stuck in the same boat here, really... they’re fighting for their rights, and I’m just out here fighting for mine.

Everything is perfectly legal, no shady business involved.

Honestly, you guys are acting so soft, terrified that some liberal activists might influence how we raise our kids.

It’s honestly pathetic how sensitive everyone has become lately... where did we even go wrong? Because personally, I don't see the issue, I'm all about being "tolerant" and all that other nonsense.

I'll be the first to admit it—I'm an aggressive person and probably the least tolerant soul on this planet!

All these overly sensitive types are just driving me absolutely crazy...

Snowflakes??? Man, I know plenty of "macho" guys who are more sensitive and soft than you could ever imagine... it's actually the saddest thing to watch. They act like they're these big, tough guys with balls of steel...

Like I said, I don't have a problem with being gay—if women want to be together or form unions, whatever. But adopting kids? Yeah, I agree that feels unnatural... though then again, better a kid feels some warmth at home than ends up in a state facility like Nazov...
Look, I’m straight, but I don't see things your way—I definitely don't view homosexuality as some kind of sickness..
As for how they get along with their parents? Honestly, I couldn't tell you. But the real issue usually boils down to pure, old-school small-town mentality—that whole "what's the neighbors gonna think" vibe. In most cases, it’s not even the parents who have an issue with their kid being gay...

I've always been the type to speak my mind, but you're mistaken if you think being blunt makes it any easier to "fit in." In fact, it's usually the exact opposite—not everyone enjoys someone who insists on having such a distinct sense of self.😁

Totally agree, though my take is more like... WHO CARES!!
I can't—and honestly don't want to—change how people see me or bend over backwards to please everyone.
I’m just gonna be myself, whether people like it or not. At the end of the day, the people who actually matter will accept me for who I am, and as for everyone else? Like I said, who cares...

Thanks for the kind words, 😍 😘

I’m with you on everything you said—but honestly, I've learned that life just tends to be pretty gray sometimes...

Reddit is basically just like life—one minute it's ugly, one minute it's sad, then it's fun, then it's toxic, then it's actually good and empathetic, or just plain trash... I could go on...

As for you, just stay brave—speak your mind, write what you think, and know that you fit right in 😉 👍

I'll be driven by my cravings for drugs, while you all chase a new Mercedes-Benz or a massive plasma CNN.

What's the damn difference?

Whatever...
all I want in this life is my peace and my health.🧐

George Ramirez11 said:I’m honestly not even sure who I should start quoting first... the one who prioritizes a predator over someone struggling with addiction, or the healthcare worker who clearly couldn't care less—because apparently, addiction isn't a disease, it's just some mindless, shapeless mass of people having a blast... or maybe it's the same person? I've stopped paying attention. I don't know why only 1% of people bother to step up when it's actually this simple. And what would be the point of me confessing? I just wanted to get it out there. It's pretty clear that nobody here (with the exception of those few who actually tried to offer something useful) can help me. I'll admit, I probably titled the thread wrong.
Nobody needs to worry about my child, let alone you guys. I feel my own pain plenty well enough, and my kid is this constant little angel whose pain I feel down to my very soul if they so much as scrape an elbow. God knows what other kind of pain exists.
Do you really think you have it all figured out just because you spend your days handing out tips to junkies? I'm not even going to go there.
I’m not looking for excuses, mostly because I haven't lost my mind—I see zero reason to justify myself to anyone HERE. I don't know why I would. Just because rehab isn't for everyone doesn't mean it's a magic fix; I was told that myself at a rehabilitation center, and I see crowds of people every single day who head straight back to their old habits the moment they walk out the doors. Most of the things you call "excuses" actually end in a question mark, if you'd bother to notice. At the end of the day, it comes down to willpower, and there's really no debate there.
Stay healthy, and I truly DON'T want any of you to see an addict when you look at your own children, because NO ONE is immune to darkness. But I DO want you to learn to think differently, even if it hurts or makes you miserable while your perspective shifts.
I never forced my opinion on anyone. I came here looking for support, and instead, I got pelted with stones. People called me an idiot who refuses to get clean, said I should have my child taken away, wished that my son would look at me with disgust, or hoped I’d drop dead within a year... I'm sorry I even sought you out. You really think you're the first ones to try using insults and aggression?
My only consolation is knowing that you either have no clue what you're talking about or you simply aren't thinking. You certainly don't know anything about me.
Go ahead, keep arguing and feeding each other's stubbornness and stupidity. I'm going to move on and look for help within myself and from people who actually give a damn.
Shame on you. Now you can go back to spitting on the depressed, the anxious, and the potentially suicidal... because I guess they're just more "idiots" who refuse help, right?
P.S. Again, thanks to the exceptions who offered supportive words, links, etc. That’s really all I was looking for. I've cried enough in my life that I'm not going to let some internet posts break me.

I think you've said your piece, and that's really the only way forward for you.
When you post a thread like this on a forum, you should expect people to give you their honest thoughts—and yeah, you probably won't like some of them. I don't see why anyone should be ashamed or hide anything.

Don't get mad, but it's hard to expect the majority to back you up given the situation. That's not about being closed-minded or stupid; it's just common sense and logic. And it's not personal—nobody knows you here, so people are just reacting to what you wrote. A kid can't have a mother who's using, no matter how well she manages her daily responsibilities. Those are just facts.

Anyhow, it's a huge deal that you're actually aware you have a problem and are trying to fix it.
From the bottom of my heart, I hope you do what's best for you and your little angel!!😘
GOOD LUCK!!🙂

Chris Peterson53 said:Personal choice
freedom of decision
You throw these lofty terms around, and then suddenly, you're arguing that society should hand out free vaccines to strip away your precious "personal choice." Hypocrite!

The only vaccine society should be distributing for free as a preventative measure is:
a vaccine against people like you!

Not every addict—no, just hypocrites exactly like you! You who dare to lecture an addict—someone who understands their fate and their children's future—by suggesting, with total cynicism, that their mother should take the hit instead: "Let her be tested, since addicts clearly know best!"
You want to wrap yourself in the cloak of Robin Hood, playing the hero for "rights" that essentially advise people to stay addicted just so they can feel "enlightened" (evolved, right?)—but in reality, you're just a common social parasite trying to pass off your parasitic existence as some superior art form of living!

Noah Sanchez7 said:I’m not sure if any of you have heard about blockers.
They basically neutralize the effects of any drugs, including heroin.
There are three types available >> pills, injections, and implants.

I stick to the pills because they’re the cheapest option. One pill lasts me two days, and during that time, I can take as much coke as I want and it’ll feel like I just drank a glass of water. It’s the same deal with oxycodone, Tramadol, and stuff like that.
Now, an implant that lasts two months goes for about $650, and an injection that works for a month is around $430.
Where am I supposed to get that kind of money?

I recently heard there’s this new injection that lasts for an entire year! And wouldn't you know it, it costs $3,200...?!

A blocker is hands down the most effective way to get clean, mostly because you realize there's no point in chasing a high when you know it won't hit.
If some "addict" were to get that one-year injection, do you know what that actually means for them?
It means no coke for a whole year. And during those twelve months, they aren't just going to sit at home waiting for the clock to run out; they’ll likely try to get back into a normal routine.

So, I’m asking you good people—specifically those working in the outpatient clinics who claim to care so much about helping addicts recover—can't this be made a little more affordable, or even free???

It's just more proof that everything is about the money. Nobody actually gives a damn about us addicts.

Don't get mad at me, but despite all my effort and trying to be understanding, I just don't get this...
The message to kids is basically: "Go ahead and get high all you want, because there are blockers that make quitting easier—and hey, they're free!"

And besides, why should anyone else have to care about you getting clean? With all due respect, I think you're the ones who actually have to want it and work for it.
Yeah... all the help in the world won't matter if you don't use your own willpower to say "ENOUGH!!"

Steven Lopez19 said:Some people realize how bad things are when they hit rock bottom, while others—like the author here—just keep hunting for excuses and justifications...
She doesn't need to justify anything to us; she needs to justify it to herself and her kid...
If she actually gave a damn, she’d be making an effort instead of digging for excuses..

spot on👍 👍
sadly, it looks like she hasn't even hit rock bottom yet—because if she had, she'd feel the sting. she wouldn't be out here looking for excuses or advice, because there's really only one way out, and I'm pretty sure she knows it without all this back-and-forth: sheer willpower and getting professional help if needed to get clean from drugs!!!
that's just the reality of it.
