You hit the nail on the head there. The whole thing is, I don't really have some grand higher purpose anymore because everything just feels kind of pointless. There’s nothing left to aim for. I mean, "the worms are gonna eat me eventually anyway," right?
If we're talking about hitting some material milestone—honestly, it’s just garbage. I’m not even interested in a BMW, or fancy yachts, or luxury condos, or traveling the world...
And don't even get me started on love or family life; it’s totally incomprehensible to me. Everything people push is like some polished Hollywood fantasy, which is lightyears away from how things actually work.
As for finding some higher spiritual calling—I guess I could trade my couch for a lotus position, and maybe that would be the fix... but that feels pretty stupid considering I'm a physical being and sitting on a concrete floor in some artificial environment feels completely unnatural to me...
On the flip side, though—deep down, I know I'm capable of anything.
@Maria Price3: Look, I've stared death in the face more times than I care to count. I'm not going into the details.
Like I said—you either snap out of it or you don't. And honestly? Things can always get worse.😉
On the flip side—I'm pretty aware that I'm capable of handling anything.
That kind of mindset is... well, I don't know how else to put it—strange, at the very least.
Maybe you borrow a Guinness World Records book, or maybe some random idea pops into your head and you decide to dedicate yourself to it, no matter how ridiculous it seems—just for the sake of having a goal.
But for starters, I think you could probably use a solid detox program.
Don't take this the wrong way; I've been stuck in my own mess, too, and there isn't anything I haven't tried to do to get myself moving. I just... I don't really know what to do with myself.
The other day, I was just hanging out somewhere unimportant when I heard this woman singing at the end of her shift. It actually made me stop and think. I thought to myself—that's what I want. I want to be able to sing at the end of a workday! So, I've set that as my goal. It's a bit vague, I guess, but hopefully, it'll crystallize into something real eventually.
