But how on earth did he manage to misspell DivX twice diwx?

Morgan Turner5 said:Such a trash movie... You’ve got these four idiots wandering into a cave without telling a single soul or bringing any guys along for backup... yeah, right... total "independent women" vibes. We all saw how that turned out for them in the end.

Seriously, is it really that hard to get their act together? ☕

Or maybe he was just trying to ease you guys into the adult world without making a big deal out of it? 😁

There's a good chance he and his brother picked the time themselves. ;-)

A ring? Did you ever see anything ring-shaped at all? Like a ring of fire? I suppose a ring of fire sounds way cooler than diving, though I wonder what the actual meaning behind The Descent is...
It isn't all about production value. We might actually pull off a great series given our history with that comic strip... It's clear there's plenty of funding available for streaming shows nowadays. Is it really that much to ask for a comedy series featuring the TNT crew?

Those shows aren't actually mocking anything... they're more like a way to glorify and validate things.

I'm not so sure. I've never viewed those two shows as celebrations of the American way of life. To me, they felt much more like satire, especially Married... Life. The issue with Married... was really just the inconsistent quality of certain episodes. The same applies to something like The Colbert Report...

Not at all. It is completely different...
Joseph Lee3 said:I wonder how this would land with folks here in the States? Honestly, the whole comic seems to be taking a massive swing at that entire Western facade of pseudo-culture and the supposed American way of life.

What about marriage counseling, like in The Simpsons?
I remember seeing an educational program about comic books about eight or ten years ago. A few famous American actors even reenacted a scene straight out of a comic

I didn't enjoy it much during my first viewing either. I felt let down because I was expecting something along the lines of Magnolia or Bogie Nights. However, upon watching it a second time, I realized it's simply a slightly eccentric romance, and everything clicked. It isn't a masterpiece, but it is quite good.

Now...
Sandler occasionally lands a decent, watchable comedy (like 50 First Dates, The Wedding Singer, or Big Daddy). However, he tends to fall into this mindless, repetitive routine much more often (think The Waterboy, Mr. Deeds, Anger Management, or Click) where he churns out endless romantic fluff for reasons I can't quite grasp. Personally, I don't think this era will last much longer.

Check him out in Revolutionary Road or Punch-Drunk Love

action heroes or action actors.

I meant the actor. My mistake...

Jonathan Rodriguez48 said:I don't think he's a bad actor at all—actually quite talented, as seen in those Guy Ritchie flicks—it's just his terrible taste in movies that keeps pulling him down...

All in all, it’s a solid film.

He would make an incredible action star, which he already proved in The Transporter. He just needs two or three heavy hitters—something along the lines of Terminator II or True Lies—to truly cement his status as an action hero. It feels like we don't have many genuine action leads left these days.

Chloe Alvarez said:I initially expected a comedy because Jim Carrey was starring in it, so I felt a bit let down at first. The subject matter is quite unusual. Honestly, his performance was the only thing that really saved the movie for me.

Try watching it again as a dark comedy instead...

On the contrary. Fanbases, especially teenagers, tend to flood everything with high ratings right at the start. It takes quite a while before the hype dies down and people actually move on. Once that settles, you finally get some honest voting without all the noise.
You were absolutely right about voting by age and gender. That is a factor we should always consider. Take this movie, for instance; it clearly resonates much more with women than men across all age groups.

I find this quite strange as well. Was there some sort of handsome guy involved that caused the female members to boost his rating?

I find it hard to trust movie ratings released within just a couple of years. You really need to wait for that two-year mark to see the true consensus. It’s also always useful to look at how specific demographics, like age or gender, influenced the vote...
