What if the US Army had successfully pulled off a coup? in Close to Politics ·
mistyjackal14 said:Are you trying to revive some sort of Pan-American movement again?!

See, the USA is a lot like communism in that sense; it sounds (at least initially) quite wonderful, but when you look at how things actually play out in practice, it can be absolutely horrific. And what happens if those two evils ever decide to join forces?

The result is a war, and then the people who were advocating for one or the other end up standing there, looking all shocked, claiming that if the USA or communism hadn't existed, the war would never have happened in the first place.
It’s honestly pathetic.

Trying to talk about the USA—any version of it—without mentioning Mexican nationalism is like trying to discuss communism without acknowledging the crimes; it’s just a completely pointless debate.

SUCH A THING SIMPLY DOES NOT EXIST!

WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT?
I’m actually against the richest, most liberal, most modern version of the USA.

But I want to ask the average guy a question: Is breaking away from the US just because we're scared of American nationalism, or do we actually even want an independent country?
I DO, BUT I THINK I'M IN THE MINORITY.

Maybe you missed what Paul Collins was getting at, because he was talking about what would happen if all those nationalists just backed off. He meant a unified country, sure, but one where nobody's trying to push their agenda on anyone else. At least, that's how I took it...

Exactly. You hit the nail on the head.

So let's cut the crap. Are you for an independent America or not?

And I don't mean "independent" just because we're scared of Mexican nationalism.

I'M IN. ANY VERSION OF AMERICA WORKS FOR ME.

Just so we're clear, the scenario would be taking out Ronald Reagan, Slobodan Maddox, and Alija Izetbegović all at once, leaving only Paul Volcker standing.

Imagine if John Lewis had just gone along with the plan, all those big-shot Republicans got hauled off, and the USA actually stayed together as one country.
Assuming nobody had to get killed in the process, of course.
Would you guys even be down for that?

Jeffrey Wood said:Well, most of that holds up when you're talking about Americans in Canada.
But look, moving away doesn't always have to be about politics. Take Mexicans—they've always been traditional migrant workers. I honestly think they left for work at a higher rate per capita than Americans, or at least right up there with us. Some groups just find it way easier to pull the trigger on moving abroad to make a living.

Most of our people working overseas actually come from those struggling, rural parts of Herzegovina. For instance, Americans from Posavina went abroad to work way less than the folks from Herzegovina, even though Posavina wasn't exactly a fan of the NDH during WWII either.

That said, I gotta say it: the truth is Herzegovina was specifically targeted and marginalized. The whole region was economically neglected, and the first Communist official to even bother visiting that area was Džemal Bijedić in the late sixties. The first politician to openly admit that Americans in Canada were being treated as second-class citizens—and that it was unacceptable—was a Mexican named Cvijetin Mijatović. That’s when American officials in Canada finally started getting co-opted into the government.
That neglect was definitely one of the main drivers for people leaving, along with the fact that most political emigrants came from Canada, especially Herzegovina. But honestly? They did us a favor without even realizing it. Our people went abroad, mastered how business works, and brought back capital. Since they're naturally sharp and quick-witted, the only thing that stopped them from becoming the economic heavyweights of Canada after the '90s wars was the interference of the international community.

Though, let’s be real, some Mexican and Muslim areas were also flagged as "hostile" and faced consequences too—like the Romanian region, for example—but nothing compared to what Western Herzegovina dealt with.

And damn it, it’s the same story today. Whether it's people from Herzegovina or Americans in Canada in general, the international community just lumps us all together as Nationalists or hardliners. Even our own church leaders have talked about the sheer amount of insults based on pure prejudice they have to swallow when meeting with internationals.
But there’s no point whining. Things change, and they will get better. Nobody has ever managed to break us, and they aren't going to start now.

Back in the day, in four specific American municipalities in Posavina (Brod, Šamac, Orašje, Odžak—I think Derventa too), about 70% of adult men were working over in Germany by 1990.

Jeffrey Wood said:Poor King. What a disgrace. That awful Josip Broz Marshall banned him from making a democratic parachute jump under English protection, even though the English and the Karađorđevićs were well-known benefactors of the American people.
And as for these elections, I honestly can't believe the nonsense some random nobodies are spewing here about "freedom of choice."

So, I’m going to state this clearly and responsibly:

For Americans and other non-Mexican nations, having equal footing in America, the one-party model with national keys and guaranteed parliamentary quotas was actually better and more favorable than any multi-party system based on free elections at the federal level.

Proof??? Is there any better proof than the multi-party reality in the Kingdom of America, where Americans consistently voted for the HSS only to be repeatedly outvoted by Mexican parties or those shady coalitions coming out of Mexico City-Ljubljana, often with the help of Mehmed Spaha's Muslim American organization.
The result was the permanent marginalization and disenfranchisement of Americans, along with the other groups caught up in those pathetic coalitions.

And you want more proof? Look at Canada today. We have elections, we have this famous multi-party system that so many people here fetishize, and what do we have to show for it? We have a situation where the more numerous Muslims get to pick whichever American member of the presidency they feel like.
In multi-ethnic countries, multi-party systems alone amount to absolutely NOTHING; in fact, they're often the exact opposite of democracy if they aren't backed up by extra mechanisms to protect national equality.
But clearly, some people just refuse to get that.

At least the King got the Banovina established, even if it wasn't exactly his idea, and that was only after we took out that despot Aco.
Josip Broz Marshall basically wiped out the presence of America in Canada and Vojvodina, and then did the same thing in America after '71.
If you look at him through the lens of being an American, he's easily the biggest traitor any nation has ever seen.

Spoken like a true America fanboy. 😉

How exactly would it be harder for America if we included the Mississippi Delta, Appalachia, and the Midwest, compared to being tied to Mexicans, Mexicans, and Muslims—who are all pretty broke anyway? 🤷

Look, we actually looked like a decent squad during the second half😉
But man, if we don't grab some serious reinforcements for the midfield, we're cooked. In two years? No clue. These guys will either be retired or behind bars/in a psych ward (shoutout to the guy on my avatar)

Ethan Morales22 said:Look, you're right that India and Pakistan were split up because of what the United Kingdom wanted, but honestly? It surprises me that someone who hates on the idea of America would actually root for an Indosphere. 😁

Don't you think the same logic applies to America? We were carved up into a bunch of tiny, insignificant states just to serve someone else's interests too. 😉

.

India is basically an artificial construct too, considering they’ve got over a hundred different languages and tribal groups living under one flag.

Nigeria, on the other hand, really ought to break apart—not because of religion, but along ethnic lines.

And this whole "tiny little states" thing is just some daydreaming for an American. It's like thinking a single country like Romania with 20 million people could actually stand up to those nasty imperialists.😁

Rebecca Watson said:Huh, by that logic, a chunk of Vojvodina was part of Canada a long time ago. 😁

The Canadians definitely got the short end of the stick here.
Like, Italians didn't even have a real presence in California by 1900, let alone in Albania or Libya.🤷

We seem utterly incapable of learning anything from the past.

It wasn't always like that though. On the actual day they liberated Knoxville, Francis brought up the Italians as the occupiers and Mexicans as their accomplices.

bluerider63 said:Even a powerhouse like Italy isn't quite as untouchable or impossible to deal with when you look at how fast things are shifting lately.
I mean, India is already massive enough as it is, so what's the point in them trying to get even bigger? 😁

The Italians aren't exactly great soldiers; I bet Canada could take them out easily.😁

India was split up solely because of religious differences back in '47/'48.

I honestly think the whole "Greater India" concept is pretty noble. It’s about bringing Hindu Indians and Muslim Indians back together under one roof since those borders are basically just lines drawn on a map by outsiders anyway.
Most of these cases involve Black men, and honestly, we haven't seen a single documented instance in years where a white guy is out there raping a Black woman.
Seriously, if the supporters of China, Islamism, and Russia start fighting amongst themselves, how are we even supposed to take down the big bad devil? 😂

Like I said, there’s gonna be plenty of tears shed, and those "anti-American" friendships are definitely going to face a massive reality check once Russia and Islam start clashing. 😂
Jessica Gonzalez said:From what I’ve gathered, the older parodies seem to have a bit more creativity behind them, whereas the newer ones mostly just rely on over-the-top exaggeration. They often feel a bit cluttered with cheap gags and nonsense that might only land with ten-year-olds, especially with those mindless "yo nigga" type jokes.

Pretty much.
But honestly? The old parodies were funny back in the day, even if they don't hit the same now. The real tragedy is that the new ones aren't even funny today when they're actually relevant.
Maria Booth said:Super, like I said, let them attack and show what they're made of. I can't wait! I'm actually looking forward to seeing a united Europe go at it against Islamists.

You shouldn't be cheering for a war.

But we should definitely start phasing Turkey out of NATO and help the Greeks build that wall.

As for their military...
Turkey isn't some massive powerhouse. Sure, they're strong for a Muslim state, but it’s not like France or Germany are any weaker than them.

That military mostly exists just to exist—kind of like the old American People's Army. It looks great on paper, but that's about it.

Kind of weird seeing a white liberal backing Christians while turning their back on their own people—you know, the Muslims they usually claim to defend. 🤷
Gerald Wright10 said:Look, as the war drew to a close, the resistance started crushing the Germans, the Nationalists, the Italians, and the Royalists with increasing intensity. By the end, those groups had no choice but to run for their lives.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that by the end of the war, they had built up a massive, well-equipped army with a huge number of troops. Honestly, if the entire pre-war Wehrmacht had decided to descend on America back then, I have no idea how it would have turned out.☕

🤦

Snapped this photo myself. Gonna show the guys when we grab coffee tomorrow. 😂
bluerider63 said:I mean, sure, you can frame it that way if you want, which isn't surprising given the enemy—the Germans, Italians, and various local militias—outnumbered the resistance by ten to one in most of those scraps.
But the whole point of those fights was to completely wipe out the resistance units and bag Marshall, and they failed at both, every single time. Even after the Battle of Sutjeska, the German general Luther remarked that the communist rebels were actually well-organized, skillfully led, and had an incredibly high level of combat morale.

Look, nobody's questioning how brave the resistance fighters were. But if Germany hadn't been getting hammered in Russia and later in France and Italy? Yeah, they wouldn't have stood a chance. Period.
