Back pain from large breasts: Any tips? in Women's Health ·
I’ve only got one Triumph bra, and honestly, it’s a bust.
It looks nice, feels comfy, high quality—you can tell—but there's zero support and the shape is just... off. It doesn't hold everything in quite right, even though the size is technically correct. Basically, the silhouette is wrong and I hate how my chest looks under clothes when I wear it. Not that Triumph is bad or anything, I know plenty of girls who love them.

I actually found my best fits at some random stores—I've got two from H&M, one from Victoria's Secret, and three from Etam. The Etam ones were the winners, but it seems like they closed up (or moved) from their spot in the mall.

I used to wear bodysuits back when things were a bit smaller... but rarely, just for special occasions... I only had one... the kind you practically have to fight to get into before you even put it on 😍 You probably need to nail the cup size perfectly, and definitely go with underwire. But honestly, I don't really trust bodysuits to stay secure. For me, that elastic band under the bust on a regular bra gives much better support...

Personally, I'm not a fan of bodysuits because of the hygiene factor. I can wear a bra for a couple of days without feeling gross, but a bodysuit? If I'm not wearing panties underneath, there's no way I'm wearing it two days in a row. And if I do wear underwear, I just feel... I don't know... crowded and claustrophobic? Constricted? 😁

But... I guess I'm just difficult: on one hand, I want that firm, secure feeling where everything stays put, but on the other, I hate feeling suffocated... so my move is always a sturdy bra over any kind of bodysuit, corset, or camisole.

Same here—I’m heading to the abdominal session. Our instructor was really drilling that weird posture into us, which honestly feels totally wrong. Maybe we're actually on the same page and I just didn't catch it... 😉

And I gotta admit, those sessions are one of the main reasons I can even deal with them. It makes carrying them easier... and helps me actually love them. 😍

this thread is alive again 😍

that "perfect" posture we were all taught? total urban legend. chest out, shoulders back, stomach sucked in... yeah, right. what a great way to intentionally wreck your spine 👎

not sure if I'm allowed to drop direct links, so here’s a hint if anyone's looking:
just google: proper posture. look for stuff like... lumbar supports or shoulder braces.
honestly, if I just had a permanent bra, I could actually hold myself up straight... right now it's a losing battle for both me and them 😁

shoulders aren't my issue... it's the part of my spine right between them.
you know how people crack their knuckles? yeah, that's me with my vertebrae. sit for a few hours and the pain kicks in—I have to shift around until it pops, then it's back to square one

over the years (since I was about 16), I've gone from a 75B to an 80D, and now I'm hovering around 75D... and the older I get, the harder it gets 😢 no matter how much weight I lose, the basket stays the same 🙄

but... getting older brings something nice too. you grow up, mature, and eventually just accept it. you stop fighting them, get to know them, make peace. you learn that sleeping on your stomach isn't really an option anymore, and that running needs to be swapped for something else... and in return, they show you how much fun life can be when you just include them in everything you do 🤣

at the end of the day, I've learned to turn my flaws—or in this case, my "assets"—into a bit of a joke. once you can laugh at yourself and them, everything feels a lot lighter 😍👍

my bad, didn't catch the earlier posts before replying.

in times like this (honestly, always)—the only lube that actually works for me without causing more drama than it solves is a specific one you can grab at CVS... it's got tea tree oil in it. used to be just called tea tree oil lube, but now it’s the TY & JA gel by Pfizer.

Are you actually dealing with something specific, or just annoyed by all these meds

because none of this stuff matters if you don't fix the root cause first...

Lactogyn is basically just preventative—it's meant to keep your flora balanced and maintain things. Like any supplement, you aren't going to see magic happen in a week.

If you want something else, you could try a tampon soaked in LGG yogurt, or those Vagisil wipes. Personally, I had decent results with the Vagisil...

Susan Wilson56 said:A few days ago my boyfriend did some finger play (second time ever)... at first it felt fine, but then it started hurting, and the next day I noticed some swelling down there. By evening everything calmed down—the swelling went away and the pain stopped too. I'm a little confused because this didn't happen the first time. My doctor can't see me for another month and I'm worried about it happening again next time, so I'm looking for some preventative advice

🙂
I shouldn't say this to you, but my first thought when I read this was just... maybe you're still super young and can't tell the difference between "swelling" 😍 from being turned on... vs actual swelling...

Sorry, just thought your post was sweet 😉

Maybe those pains you mentioned are just a weird sensation from having his fingers inside you rather than actual pain... either way, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Just pay attention to how your body reacts and learn to "communicate" with it. It'll all click eventually... 😍

Yeah, obviously... when you're "wounded." Just let her recover for a bit—she'll pay you back tenfold... 😍

I was gonna suggest some lube to make things a little easier, but I actually thought better of it... honestly, I wouldn't even dare put anything in there until I've had a bit more time to recover.

If you've already wiped out all the fungi and bacteria, then this is just collateral damage. It’ll pass...

Yeah. That's literally what they're for.

Reviving this thread since summer is finally here—which means my annual struggle is back... hunting for a decent bikini.

I’ve hit a few shops already (don't have the energy for a marathon) and, predictably, 👎 the selection is pretty meh.

Liscin — just the usual stuff, nothing that actually fits me right;

random big-box stores — honestly, don't even bother.

The Victoria's Secret shop closed down—last time I swung by they were remodeling, so who knows if they're even open now.

To everyone else suffering through this... where are you guys finding bikinis? What's the quality like? Styles? Support?

I might just take a gamble on Victoria's Secret this year. Found two styles (ignoring the pattern for now) that I'm torn between:

1. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/imag...269783_Q71.jpg

- looks good on her 🙄
- seems like there's enough fabric to actually cover everything
- not sure about that strap underneath though... wonder how much it digs in or disappears under the bust if you're more curvy
- can't pick cup sizes, just standard S, M, L

1. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/imag...i2/V286732.jpg

- comes in different cup sizes
- looks sturdy
- the underwire seems like it'd provide solid support 😁

Thoughts? Which one's going to give better lift? 🤷

I totally get where you're coming from... I went through the same internal debate about whether to just get the surgery or not. It’s not even that my breasts are huge, they're just heavy—and during certain times of the month, it gets way worse 🙄
.
In the end, I decided to just leave things as they are. Honestly, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

My back isn't actually the main issue—it's more about how people look at me and assume I have posture problems... I used to be really into fitness, so I actually have muscle... both core and back. Lately, I haven't been as active, so I feel the strain a bit more, though it’s less about sitting at the computer all day and more about when I'm walking for long periods.

The real trouble is my thoracic area—you know, right where the bra clasps. Because of the weight, that part of my torso just slumps forward, and I have to stretch and "reset" myself several times a day. That reset involves arching backward as hard as I can until my vertebrae click back into place (makes that popping sound, like cracking your knuckles). Then I'm good for a while. I do this every few hours whenever I need to—in the grocery store, at work, out on the street... I don't give a damn what people think anymore, because if I don't do it, it hurts.

Second thing—and in my experience, this is huge—is finding a good bra. Support is everything. Everyone will tell you that, but the real question is what actually counts as a *good* bra. Basically, your breasts need to be fully contained in the cup, whether it's underwired, padded, or whatever. The band needs to be snug without digging in, and the straps should be wide enough so they don't cut into your shoulders. This means for everyday wear, you can pretty much forget about lace and sexy lingerie. You're left with the basic, almost medical-looking stuff 😂. I've seen some decent, classy versions at Marks & Spencer. They aren't even pricey given the quality, but their sizing never works for me, so I've never bought anything there 🤷—it's like every manufacturer thinks their numbers are the same. I avoid Liscin too when it comes to bras... the styles just don't fit me right.

Victoria's Secret is my go-to 👍. They're cute and they actually carry larger sizes with a great band-to-cup ratio.

As for exercises, I can't really explain exactly what you should do right now... but from what I've learned, having a strong core and back is way more important than chest muscles. Chest muscles are mostly for aesthetics; the back is what actually holds everything up. Though, if your back is overdeveloped compared to your abs (or vice versa), it's not ideal either. You need that front-to-back balance to stay upright. I'll try to find some workout links for you later.

They used to make those posture correction belts, too. I wore one during puberty and it helped... but I have no idea where my mom even bought it.

Also, I can't stress enough how important skin care is. For me, weight fluctuations show up first in my chest. If I wasn't constantly applying oils and creams, I'd definitely have stretch marks and skin sagging down to my belly by now. Because of the upkeep, everything is still mostly where it started when it grew 😁. I'm a little nervous about pregnancy, and given my size... I think I might consciously decide not to breastfeed... but that's not really my focus right now.

And the weirdest part? It surprises me how many women seem to have larger breasts lately, and how much they suffer because of it.

I know some people are jealous, but personally, I feel terrible sometimes because I can't just wear whatever I want...

P.S. I've heard/read that Medicare covers the surgery if it's a health risk... but knowing our healthcare system, that feels more like an urban legend to me.

Rinse it with rubbing alcohol until the inflammation dies down.
I guess you can wear earrings if you don't want the holes to close up—but you gotta take them out and clean everything regularly until the swelling goes away. And stick to gold... I had infections even with surgical steel 😢

That's my move—just grit my teeth and deal with it 😁 because I am NOT losing these piercings!!!!!!!!!
I went with gold. I take them out every single day to clean and disinfect the holes. Then I slather on some antibiotic cream (grabbed a tube at CVS with my mom). Let them fight. Cream vs. infection... let's see who wins.

Things just got messy 👎

Took my piercings out today and—yikes—the skin behind my ears is looking pretty red. It looks like some kind of crusty buildup has formed inside the holes too... both of them. It’s hard to the touch, and honestly, it stings like hell.
I went ahead and cleaned both ears with rubbing alcohol.
Right now I'm leaving the piercings out entirely—just too scared to put anything back in while the area is this red and tender...

Anyone got advice...?

nimbleskipper17 said:Maybe you're allergic to metals? Do you usually wear costume jewelry—does it ever cause a rash or itching? (not that this matters if your earrings are solid gold or titanium 🙂)

Back when I was a kid, I had my ears pierced too, mostly stuck with gold. Eventually, I developed an allergy to basically any base metal except the precious stuff. Once I tried wearing some non-gold earrings, it started with a little bleeding, then a scab, then it got infected, then a massive crust formed... so yeah, I just gave up on earrings entirely. There's no cure for that—it's either gold or nothing. But that doesn't mean you have the same thing...

I don't think it's an allergy, though. I've worn silver and cheap jewelry before without any issues. No rashes, no itching, just a little bit of blood. Still, maybe I'm developing one... who knows... 😕
I've been soaking the earring stud in alcohol (a memory I won't soon forget 😁) to prevent infection... honestly, might just take a sip myself, people say alcohol is a decent anesthetic... 😉

So, I recently went back and pierced my lip—using the old holes I had from years ago that basically closed up because I stopped wearing studs.
My aunt helped me out and told me to dab a little rubbing alcohol here and there and to move my lip every so often just to make sure the piercing settles right... everything seemed fine until yesterday when this tiny bit of blood started oozing from one of the holes... nothing crazy, just a little bit from the lip edge... honestly, I have no clue if I nicked it while brushing my teeth or if it just happened on its own...
Now I’m low-key freaking out because I heard stories about women getting nasty infections or complications where the piercing gets all swollen and stuff...
If anyone has any (constructive) advice on how to keep things from getting messed up so these dimples actually stay dimples, I’m all ears!
Why on earth am I bleeding now... it’s been almost three weeks since I did this!!!!!

help! 🙏
Where'd you get the idea to check your hormones in the first place? And which ones specifically?
I mean... if someone—like a specialist deciding based on all your complaining that a hormonal imbalance might be the culprit—actually sends you out with a referral, they'll tell you exactly what needs to be done and where. Usually, they point you toward a hospital system (I've been to Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and Cleveland Clinic myself) with a slip that specifies which hormones to test and when—depending on your cycle or whatever... if we aren't just talking about reproductive stuff. You go to their labs, they stick you with a needle, and basically act like vampires. They suck out a certain amount of blood depending on how many things they're testing for, then you head back in a few days or a week to grab the results.

If you're just doing this on your own initiative... I guess you'd have to go to a private clinic, since I'm pretty sure you can't just walk into a hospital without a referral. Not sure how the private places handle it. I've only ever dealt with the big hospitals.
