Does anyone actually have a decent adblocker for phones? Most of the ones I’ve messed around with are total junk and don't even work.

Tried switching to my other phone, but honestly, it’s the exact same headache. I even hit that little reset button on the back of the Xfinity Gateway... total waste of time.
I moved it up onto the hallway shelf, too. Most of the time I’m just hanging out in my room, which is maybe ten feet from the modem, with just a door standing between us.
Even right now, while I’m typing this, the whole thing is lagging. That signal icon looks full, but those little arrows underneath? They’re acting possessed. Both of them pop up at once, then vanish for ten seconds, then repeat. It’s not like normal Wi-Fi where they actually cycle properly.
Whatever. Looks like I'll have to call Verizon and deal with that mess.

Being within one or two feet of my router is useless to me... I’m not exactly going to be standing right next to it just to get some signal on my phone while I'm moving around the house.

I'm dealing with some major internet issues... specifically my Wi-Fi.
I've got an iPhone 6 (only three months old) and I'm running an Xfinity Gateway from Verizon.
Everything works perfectly on my desktop when I'm plugged in via Ethernet, but my phone? Total disaster. It shows as connected all the time, but then it’s either painfully slow or just sits there spinning forever without loading a single thing. There are these tiny, rare moments where it actually works, but you can't count on it.
I tried running a speed test on my phone, and honestly, the numbers look fine—download is at 11.47 mbps and upload is 2.60 mbps.
I have zero clue what the deal is here. 🙂

Hey there.

Lately, I’ve been getting this weird sensation in my legs once evening rolls around... like a constant tingling or just some dull muscle ache right in the front of my shins and near the knee. It isn't exactly "I need an ER visit" pain, more like just a nagging, annoying discomfort.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

The people over at Mayo Clinic are seriously losing their minds... I was sharing my own take on that doctor strike thread—basically just venting about what I’ve dealt with working alongside the staff there... absolute nightmare! 😠

I was driving a friend over to the local hospital—one of those big city trauma centers—late Friday night because she was bleeding like crazy. And get this: the nurse in OBGYN was incredibly rude. She straight-up told us it wasn't an emergency and refused to call a doctor. Naturally, I lost my cool and got into it with her... then she had the nerve to tell me, "Don't talk to me like that." Like, excuse me? You aren't some celebrity protected by a press corps, lady. I’ll find out who you are eventually.

So, we bailed and headed over to the Mercy Hospital instead... and man, what a difference. The nurse there was actually kind, not a total nightmare. The doctor was right there on the floor, too; she showed up within three minutes of being called, and we had everything sorted out in fifteen. Seriously, huge props to them!

edit: oh, and one more thing... before we even left the house for that first hospital, I called ahead to explain the situation and make sure they could take us. They said yes. So for her to look us in the face later and say, "I can't just turn people away over the phone!" is absolute insanity. We could have just gone straight to Mercy and saved ourselves all that wasted time and headache.

Is it still true that if a referral is older than 30 days, it's basically trash? I need to get some bloodwork done for the KKS, but my referral expired back on June 6th.

It’s not about some blood work or a lab test... we're talking ultrasound here. I’m honestly not even sure where to start asking about this...

So, I just went in for an abdominal and kidney ultrasound...

Everything looks fine, mostly. But then there's this note about my kidneys:

Kidneys are in the right spot, normal size, and the parenchyma thickness looks standard.
In the middle third of the left kidney sinus, there's a hypoechoic zone that matches the parenchymal echogenicity, which corresponds to a hypertrophied Bertin column.
At the junction of the middle and proximal thirds of the left kidney, there's a parenchymal cyst measuring up to 12mm.

What does any of this actually mean? Thanks!!

Hey, I need some help here... I really don't have the patience to wait a whole month just to grab all my results and take them to my doctor...

So, basically, I had some bloodwork done for hormones, and the results just landed:

FT4, TSH, ACTH, CORTISOL, LH, FSH, PROLACTIN, ANDROSTENE, FTESTO, IGF1 => all good

17OH_PR - 4.37 ref. range: follicular phase: 0.3 - 3.3

DHEAS - 15.05 ref. range: 3.2 - 11.6

E2 - 156 ref. range: follicular phase: 184 - 1774

SHBG - 10.3 ref. range: 20 - 85

TESTO - 3.63 ref. range: up to 2.7

antiTPO < 1 ref.: pos. >50, neg. < 40

So... what's the deal? My endocrinologist sent me in because she suspects thyroid issues... she could actually feel an enlarged anterior lobe during the exam. Now I still have to go get an abdominal and kidney ultrasound.

If there's some kind of fungal thing going on, the ointment probably won't do much... it might sting a little bit at first, but you'll get over it eventually 😉
