As I mentioned in my private message, we’ve had several threads go down this exact path before, where everything devolves into politics and petty bickering. That simply isn't the purpose of the career and job subforum. I suggested you might find more success asking your question in the chat or over in the Politics section instead. My intention wasn't to insult or belittle you, but I received a reaction that I don't feel inclined to engage with—much like the tone of your comment here.👍
Furthermore, since you're sticking around, if you plan on participating in other discussions within the PIK subforum, please take a moment to actually read the rules. Try not to disrupt the natural flow of conversation; after all, you already had a few of your comments erased earlier today.👍
That’s all from my side. The administration can see exactly which threads and comments were removed, and I stand by my decision completely.👍
I'm just passing through and don't have the luxury of time for a full response right now, but expect one from me later.👍
In the meantime, please refrain from cluttering the career and job subforum with spam, and I'd appreciate it if you kept the insulting private messages to yourself.😁
Noah Perez12 said:It seems we’ve hit a bit of a snag regarding the rules. I’m all for structure, but let’s be honest—navigating these regulations can feel like trying to follow a manual written in a language you barely understand. It’s a tedious process, isn't it? If there's a specific point of contention or a guideline that feels particularly absurd, do let me know. I’m happy to dive into the weeds with you, provided we don't lose our minds in the process.
The rules state quite clearly that such behavior is prohibited.🤷

Honestly, if Michelle Alvarez8 wants to waste her time arguing with that group of people constantly sliding into her DMs to ask what on earth she's thinking—or why she’s even choosing specific font colors for official posts—that's her prerogative. I'm just going to do my job. 🙏
I apologize for any inconvenience I might have caused. Truly, though—no jokes here—I consider you one of my primary role models. If the color choice is proving to be an issue, please consider it entirely at your disposal. Just say the word and I'll fix it.👍
P.S.: I almost forgot.🤦
Christian Taylor3 said:With only two posts under their belt, a new user probably deserves a private message warning rather than an immediate ban. Let’s skip the formal reprimands for now.
This was previously attempted. Zero results to show for it.👍
Noah Perez12 said:I’m still not feeling particularly confident about the security here...
Security of what, exactly? He got the penalty he deserved.😕
As for my previous comment, offering my signature to the public—given that I was being called out by name—was simply an act of good faith and a desire for cooperation, not a sign of ignorance.👍
Anthony Barrett37 said:Can rustydrifter10 just clarify something for me? Is a moderator actually allowed to issue warnings—even yellow cards—in a sub-thread where they don't even have jurisdiction?
Example here:
Since I’m still relatively new around here, I figured I’d just ask. The answer is that while a moderator technically has the ability to issue warnings, they aren't supposed to be handing out infractions in sub-threads outside their designated area. However, that rule doesn't apply to signature violations. In those cases, anyone who spots a rule-breaking signature can essentially flag it, since the infraction isn't about a specific comment within a thread, but rather the user's profile signature itself.👍
shadowlynx102 said:For instance, I’m not allowed to promote my own site in my username, yet Brian Edwards6 has a link to some random Blogger blog right there in his handle?...
The rule is pretty straightforward:
... signatures may not be used for advertising purposes or for displaying personal information; if you want to include a link to a personal blog or a specific site on Reddit or a news aggregator within your signature, please format it as "Click here" rather than http://www.mylink.com
essentially, a signature is
"You can run, but you can not hide!"
So, it's a hidden link to a non-commercial blog (one that doesn't leak private info) hosted on a platform like Blogger. From what I gather, that's perfectly fine. If I've misinterpreted things, I'll happily strip it out.👍
Why should I stay quiet? The people being banned—usually after multiple offenses—are the very ones who have been degrading the quality of these forums for ages. At the end of the day, does the perpetrator matter more than the victim?😕
Now, jokes aside. This thread was framed in a way that could only ever lead to one conclusion, and that’s exactly what Judolino correctly identified. And sure, he probably deserved a reprimand for how he handled himself, but the thread itself should have been shut down immediately (or at the very least, the opening post should have been completely overhauled). Racism and hate speech are inexcusable, and there is absolutely no reason to tolerate them just because they've been wrapped up in pretty packaging. A massive 👎 to the moderators. There is a more appropriate emoji for this situation, but I’d likely be penalized if I actually used it.👍
In short, Judolino earned a warning (take your pick) or even a ban, but he certainly wasn't the only person in that thread who deserved one. At the same time, a permanent exile was overkill, whereas some others definitely earned it, despite having barely posted anything. Another big 👎 for the mods (though again, a different emoji would be more fitting here). It’s honestly pathetic that they’ll drive away an excellent contributor who is always a pleasure to read, only to leave... Well, I'll stop there. I think I see now how he got caught in this mess.😁
She just registered, she's got a couple of posts, and it's pretty obvious she hasn't figured out how to navigate all the features this forum offers yet. 🤷
Even if that search tool is kind of questionable—I mean, try typing in something like "spider" 🤣 ...you'll end up pulling up every damn PDF on this site, from kids' toys and nature stuff to legal documents... 🤣 It's like what was said above regarding those long threads—just take a vacation and read through them. But no, she needs the answer in an hour. 🤣
Oh, please, don't act like such a saint. 🤣 The point isn't about whether we're making fun of her or if she picked the right sub-forum, and nobody is attacking Katrina. We're just trying to reach a consensus so maybe people could use a little less attitude.😳😁
well, looking at your handle, it’s pretty obvious you take yourself a bit too seriously too... clearly😬
Good grief, you all are going to ruin the only person left here with any actual backbone.🙂

I’m reporting this post.🙂 I took personal offense to that word "bit."😁
What really gets under my skin is when someone drops a super specific question—say, about a cable package subscription—and she just brushes them off with: "just scroll through the thread." But there are a million pages of junk there 🙄take the annual plan and deal with it🙂 or "just use the search bar"🤣
And honestly, what the hell am I supposed to type in there?😂
To wrap this up: You aren't necessarily bad at this, you're just being too rigid—maybe just loosen up a bit and everything will be fine. It’s not like the server is going to crash if someone asks the same question more than once.
The issue isn't actually with the server. The real problem is that when someone posts under "Specific Questions," they’ve usually already been answered five times in the last ten pages. It’s just exhausting for those of us trying to help to keep repeating the exact same advice over and over again. I realize everyone feels like their particular situation is a unique crisis, but you really need to put in at least a modicum of effort to search for the answer yourself before you start whining.👍
neondriver5 said:I felt 🤣 a bit frustrated yesterday when she shut down that one thread, which is why I’m posting here instead. They moved the discussion from the Detroit section—where everyone was talking about driver's licenses and penalties—over to the Legal subforum, only for her to snap it shut in record time, like an Olympic sprinter, with that classic "this topic already exists" excuse.
I mean, no shit. It’s not the original poster's fault if they moved the whole conversation to a different part of the site, especially since we were just discussing Fords and how the police handle traffic stops.
Pri post u temi je: "I have a quick question regarding a ticket I just received. I was pulled over around 10:00 PM because I didn't have my ID on me. I went ahead and paid the fine immediately, but everyone I've spoken to since then is claiming that if this was my first offense, I should have just been given a warning instead of an actual citation. Is there any truth to that, or am I just being told what I want to hear?".👍
What does this have to do with the Detroit forum? Let me be clear: the fact that her friend didn't have her headlights on has absolutely zero bearing on her initial question. It isn't even the subject of this discussion; it's just being used as fodder for people looking to mock her.🙂
As for whether this thread actually belongs on the Legal Board, there’s already a dedicated section just for ID cards, not to mention the specific thread for filing formal disputes. Honestly, she shouldn't have even had to ask; if she’d bothered to scroll through just two or three pages, she would have found everything she was looking for right there.👍
For the most part, crimsonsailor7 absolutely rocks.😁
Does anyone happen to know where I might track down some interesting calendars for 2012—ideally desk versions if we're lucky?😕
A quick follow-up. Does anyone know of a children's book specifically designed to teach days or dates? Everywhere I look, it’s all clocks, animals, colors, and the usual suspects, but nothing quite hits this specific mark.🤷
Can anyone tell which finger I’m holding up right now?😁
P.S.: My apologies; I didn't intend to offend anyone, but I simply couldn't help myself. It was meant strictly as a joke, directed at no one else here.🙏
P.P.S.: An extension of my apology. If this were a serious discussion, I wouldn't have permitted myself such a stunt. Given that an identical thread was moved to a more appropriate section, and considering that over 200 views haven't yielded any substantial commentary, I figured there wasn't much harm done. If any disciplinary action follows, I accept it fully and will sit in the corner and repent.👍
