I mean, look, you’ve got it right there in your signature and nobody is ever going to touch it.

Look, you already laid it all out right here. Your post was basically just part of a conversation that doesn't really belong in that specific section. The password didn't actually leak anywhere; the server just rejected it because you don't have moderator or admin privileges. And just to clear things up, those aren't links to the moderator lounge, they're just links to the control panel.

Larry Walker24, you really don't need to start an entirely new thread just for stuff like this. It’d be much better if you just dropped your question in the "question for administration" topic—honestly, even posting it off-topic wouldn't be the end of the world here. As far as the software goes, vBulletin is just set up that way by default, so it's not actually something we have any control over.
Incorrect post count in Forum Help! ·
Posts don't actually count toward the total on the close to politics subforum. That thread you were writing in got moved over to that PDF file, so your posts were still showing up in the counter while the topic was still sitting in its old spot.

But then I had second thoughts and tried to wipe the whole thing—you know, delete the entire thread. To this day, I honestly still can't figure out if there's even a way to actually do that.

The thing is, users here don't have the option to delete their own threads once they're live. That’s why you really have to sleep on it before hitting that "post" button. 🙂

If that's truly the only reason behind the rules, I honestly feel like they could handle it in a much less heavy-handed way.

casualsailor6 said:Anyway, the main reason I'm bringing this up is because that user Cindy is constantly cluttering up the EPA boards with these totally mindless threads, and she hasn't even been given a temporary ban, let alone a permanent one.

Thanks for pointing that out; I'll definitely look into what's going on there.

Thanks! I actually dug up the appeal over at the FEC, but they didn't really give a straight answer there. So, I went ahead and checked out Waste Management and ended up finding that old thread where you deleted the original post. Technically, you could argue that counts as breaking the rules, but since I can't see what was written before the edits, I'm honestly not sure if there's some other reason behind the ban besides that.

Here's the link for the admin staff.

My search isn't pulling up that profile for some reason. Could you shoot me the link, please?
Since the original poster has been banned and there isn't anything left to add regarding the appeal—honestly, everything that needed to be said has already been laid out—I'm going to go ahead and close this thread.
amberdriver17, I honestly think if you head over to the Health and Wellness or maybe even the Alternative Living forums on Son, you'll find a dedicated thread where everyone is already deep in discussion about this kind of thing. 🙂
Comparing any of our community members to a Nazi—someone responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people—is absolutely unacceptable and won't be tolerated here.

As far as the complaints go, I’m with the moderator on this one; they laid everything out perfectly and made themselves very clear.

Why don't you just save the ones you actually care about onto your computer?

feralmoose32 said:Just imagine being fifteen years old in this digital age and receiving a giant encyclopedia...
Oh my god...

wanderinggardener12 said:I can see it now. The sour expression, the disbelief, the aimless flipping through pages just hoping to find some loose change tucked inside... But regardless of how that kid reacts, I wouldn't participate in dulling their intellect, whether they appreciated it or not. If encyclopedias were sold with premium branding on the cover, they’d certainly be a coveted gift. An encyclopedia from a flea market—$33, from Name—maybe 200, from Benetton—300, and the prices would just keep climbing... And if it were a special edition tailored for blue-eyed kids standing between 5'3" and 5'5", you could probably tack on another 20% to the price tag...

Besides, do you really believe everything worth knowing is available online? A general encyclopedia was merely a small irony—a testament to the idea that a physical book is something truly worth owning for anyone with half a brain. And if they haven't reached that level yet, well, I can at least wish it for them.

And just imagine having a fifteen-year-old whose highest ambition in life is to get some mindless gadget (some "i-something") that will be obsolete before they even fully understand how it works, leaving them to cycle through three more identical devices before they even finish high school.
I know a girl who spent 62 hours on her phone in just one month (with a bill totaling $400)! Buying a smartphone or any similar device for someone like that is essentially telling them
that this behavior is perfectly acceptable...

That’s why gifts really need to be personal, and it’s so important to actually know a little bit about the child you're buying for. One kid might be absolutely thrilled with an encyclopedia, while for another, it might be the last time they ever lay eyes on one. You shouldn't just buy gifts off a template, or at least, you shouldn't.

Tyler Ruiz502 said:I was thinking back to that old "Senior Citizens Forum" thread—it was such a niche, specific little corner of the site (one I never actually posted in myself, mind you)—but I know it used to be a thing... and now, it’s just gone. It’s honestly baffling to me why they pulled the plug on it. I mean, I see plenty of other sub-forums keeping their own specialized, niche threads alive and kicking, so why was that one singled out?

Well, , we actually moved it over to the old Gaming Lounge section, though honestly, it probably could have lived on the main forum too. But most of the chatter there comes from parents with younger kids, so it’ll likely just stay tucked away where it is for now.

It’s more than that—you're basically locked out. You can still browse around if you log out, though.

Henry Hernandez7 said:Look, rustydrifter10, there isn't much you can do about your situation, and honestly, that’s fine. I just wanted to throw a quick technical question your way since I can't even manage to read that PDF.

That's just how this specific group is set up; they're basically blocking access to the PDF. If you want to be able to read it, your best bet is to just log out.

Henry Hernandez7 said:Honestly, I think this was pretty much inevitable. It was always going to happen eventually.

Look, you saw this coming from a mile away. I’ve been going back and forth with you for months now, trying to make sense of things, but honestly? Nothing has changed. It's the same old story.

Henry Hernandez7 said:Look, I’m just looking for a straight answer here. Can someone give me a clear explanation as to why I got hit with a partial ban today? I was participating in a few discussions—nothing crazy, no trolling, just being honest and keeping things civil—so I’m a bit lost. Is there a specific reason for this, or can we skip the bulleted lists and just talk about it like normal people?

Look, the decision regarding your partial access wasn't some sudden epiphany that hit us yesterday or today—it was already set in stone, it just finally became official. It’s not like we haven't discussed this with you before, and honestly, you didn't even seem shocked when it came up. You have to understand how this works: we don't hand out partial access based on just one single post or even a handful of them. One bad day or a few off comments aren't going to be the reason someone gets denied. We look at the big picture—your entire body of work and your total contribution to the PDF project—and that’s exactly how we evaluated your situation too.

So, just a heads-up for everyone—the play center actually decided to change its name! Since we’ve been doing so much work lately tailoring everything specifically for the little ones, they felt like "Infants & Preschoolers" was a much better fit for what we actually do now.

Even though I could just go into my settings and turn off private messages entirely if I wanted to. 😁

Larry Walker24 said:Wait, hold on—if someone’s inbox is actually full, does that mean the admins can't even send them a notification letting them know they've been banned? That seems like a massive loophole.

I can do that.
