So, for the most part, we’ve kept things right on the main landing page just like we planned—at least for those first few sections, though I haven't had a chance to comb through the entire forum index yet. To be honest, there are still a handful of threads where we're scratching our heads a bit over where they'd fit best, but generally speaking, the root level is mostly filled with those broad, general topics that work for pretty much any age group. Please, feel free to reach out or flag any specific threads you think would be better suited in a different sub-forum!

Henry Hernandez7, look, the moderator already laid out exactly why they decided that account was just a clone of yours—the evidence is all right there. There’s really no point in dragging this out or repeating the same arguments over and over again. To be honest, I didn't even realize you had dropped that many posts because I didn't catch that it was a brand-new registration. My bad on that one, but I wouldn't change a single thing about the mod's decision.

Look, if you’re having an issue with specific posts on one thread, starting a whole new topic on a different one isn't really the way to handle it. Just report the post, and the moderators will step in and take action if they feel it's necessary. If nothing happens after that, then feel free to bring it up here.

And honestly, I don't see why you're looking for a confrontation. Over at NATO, there's been some really intense discussion lately regarding the FBI and how things were handled over there, and we're all trying our best to sort through it without blowing up the entire thread. We want to make sure everyone follows the forum rules, so any unnecessary drama or tension from anyone—seriously, anyone—is just completely uncalled for right now.

The thread you started over on SDG didn't really follow the house rules, and it wasn't set up quite right according to that PDF guide. Plus, if you're looking to chat about the lack of intimacy in a marriage, we actually already have a massive mega-thread dedicated entirely to that topic!
Why was my post deleted? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Was it just a single post you made, or did you actually start an entire thread because of it? Which PDF were we talking about? And what was the actual topic you wrote about? Looking at your profile, the only deleted post I see from you is one from this very thread—which I personally removed since it didn't really add anything to the conversation—but clearly, that’s not the one you're referring to. 😁

frozenowl3 said:Well, you went and deleted my post. Round of applause for that one, I guess!

I honestly can't believe how much this whole situation is starting to feel like a broken record! It’s almost funny if it weren't so incredibly frustrating. You see these patterns repeating over and over again, and yet, here we are, right back at square one. I was reading what rustydrifter10 had to say earlier, and I have to agree—there's just a fundamental misunderstanding happening here. It feels like everyone is talking past each other instead of actually addressing the core issue. People are getting so caught up in the noise that they're missing the forest for the trees, you know? And then there's the way people react to any kind of change. It’s like as soon as a new policy or a different approach is suggested, the immediate response is just pure, unadulterated pushback without even considering why the shift was necessary in the first place. It reminds me of those endless debates you see on cable news where nobody actually listens; everyone just waits for their turn to shout. I really think if we could just take a step back and look at the bigger picture—the actual impact this has on everyday Americans—we wouldn't be having this same circular argument for the hundredth time. But I guess that’s asking too much of people these days, isn't it? We need more nuance and less knee-jerk reactions if we ever want to make any real progress.

Come on, rustydrifter10, please just take care of this yellow card situation right now—I've already got the email typed up and ready to go, I just need you to hit send!

Yeah, just so you know, actually commenting on a moderator warning does earn you 30 points. If you're looking to appeal a strike or a card, there's already a specific thread set up just for that purpose!

The moderator really shouldn't have been allowed to go in and edit your post like that!

frozenowl3 said:I honestly feel like there's a pretty good reason why they shut this one down, don't you think?

They actually added an edit to the title specifically telling people to check out the rules, and if you look at the official PDF, there's already a dedicated thread for these kinds of questions. There really isn't any need to go asking on the FEMA boards first when a topic covering this exact stuff already exists elsewhere.

Sometimes moderators just can't keep up with every single thread, especially when they're juggling a bunch of different PDF files at once. Honestly, anyone is entitled to take a breather and step back for a moment if they feel like they need it.

That being said, I totally agree that threads dealing with more sensitive subject matter—the kind where rules are easily broken—really should be prioritized and given some extra attention by the mod team.

Since Deedy mentioned he hasn't had much time to moderate lately because this topic got pushed aside by other things, I think it’s perfectly fine to let someone handle a heavy workload or life stuff occasionally without making it a permanent thing. There's really no point in continuing to call him out for it, so I’d appreciate it if we could just drop it.

I stumbled upon this thread last night after someone brought it up while they were filing a complaint about that Hyperactive kids topic, so I decided to hop in and see what all the fuss was about. Honestly? This isn't going to stay up for long.

Lisa Rodriguez84 said:Look, he isn't encouraging domestic violence, and honestly, what you're doing here is bordering on straight-up lying.
Do us all a favor and just stop. 🙂

The whole point of this forum is to share our views and swap experiences. I KNOW for a fact that nobody in that thread wrote, "Yeah, you should definitely beat your kids regardless of the situation, hit them as much as possible." You can say whatever you want, but nobody is inciting violence here. 😉

Just realize that I actually used the word violence.

Since I’ve gone back and edited quite a few of my posts, most of what I’m saying here is coming straight from memory—which is exactly what I mentioned before. Honestly, there's just no way for me to know exactly what was written in those original versions, so I have to rely on what I remember!

I’ve been scrolling through the comments, and honestly, it’s a bit jarring. So many people are over there practically begging for the good old days when kids were disciplined with a heavy hand—talking about how we need to bring corporal punishment back into the classroom or reminiscing about those "golden eras" when kneeling on corn was standard practice. It’s pretty unsettling to see that kind of rhetoric; to me, it feels like nothing more than glorifying and promoting violence under the guise of discipline.

Linda Price5 said:Alright. What kind of disciplinary action is the administration planning regarding moderator Charles Fox10? He’s been abusing his authority by editing posts to scrub out any parts he finds controversial. 🥳

Look, we’ve already talked about this—he really didn't mean any harm. At the time, he honestly thought the thread would stay open, so he was just trying to get everything organized while he had the chance. He wanted to clean up the discussion to make it more readable, but he ended up grabbing the wrong tool for the job. I think we should just leave it at that this time. Honestly, though, it feels like a lot of our moderators don't quite grasp the rule that you aren't supposed to edit posts just to swap out the actual content. It’s a bit concerning, and I think I’m going to have to step in and address it so we don't run into this same issue again.

Linda Price5 said:So, let me get this straight: in your capacity as administrator, you refuse to discipline moderator Charles Fox10 because he is openly advocating for physical violence against children suffering from ADHD?

Brilliant.

From here on out, I request to be exempt from any moderator-led disciplinary actions. I give you my word that I won't commit any offense more egregious than a moderator actively endorsing violence against sick children.

Look, I’m really not trying to go out of my way to defend what he wrote, but honestly? I think that post was aimed at spoiled kids, not children actually living with an ADHD diagnosis. Either way, it just wasn't appropriate.

Honestly, looking back at that thread, I was just completely repulsed by the sheer amount of violence being promoted. It was genuinely stomach-turning to read. Now, don't get me wrong—I totally get the whole "locker room talk" vibe. I have zero issues with the typical jabs at "man-hating feminists who should stick to baking pies" or whatever usual nonsense people throw around about MK. That’s just part of the culture there. But this specific topic? It went way too far. Even by the standards of how politically incorrect things are allowed to be in that space, this was crossing lines that shouldn't be crossed.

Unfortunately, a massive chunk of posts has been edited, which means I can't moderate things properly anymore. It puts me in a tough spot because if I try to hand out sanctions now, it’s going to look like I'm just picking and choosing who to target, and that’s the last thing I want. Honestly, I’d much rather hold off on handing out any warnings or penalties entirely than deal with being accused of playing favorites—I only want to go after the people who actually deserve it.

Look, I get it—I really do. I know you don't like this, and I know you probably think there was a much better way for me to handle everything. But honestly? This time, I’m sticking with my guns and choosing this path. Maybe it's the wrong call, maybe it's a total mistake—I honestly couldn't tell you. All I know is that I am just not happy with how any of this turned out, and at this point, I feel like the door has completely slammed shut on any other possibility.

Please, just don't bring that up again in the future. I honestly can't make a fair call on this matter anymore because, no matter how I look at it, any decision I make is going to come across as biased. And hey, if I absolutely have to be unfair, I'd much rather pick the route that results in fewer penalties. You can try to be understanding about that, or you can not—it's entirely up to you.

Linda Price5 said:What sheer luck that I happened to quote his post right when I was opening this thread!

Look, I really don't want to be selective about who I call out here, especially since there was so much going on in that mess.

Linda Price5 said:Fine. So, what kind of disciplinary action is the administration planning to hand down to Chuck?

He’s not going to face any sanctions. Looking at the posts that were left standing, there isn't actually anything there that warrants a violation. I can't quite recall exactly how the posts looked before they were edited, though. I have a bit of a memory of them, but nothing that I personally thought would lead to a strike. Sadly, I don't have a photographic memory, so I've already forgotten the original content. There was honestly so much stuff posted, and I really wasn't expecting them to just wipe out all the controversial parts.

Anyway, at this point, nobody is getting a strike retroactively.

Linda Price5 said:Thanks.

The forum rules state: It is prohibited on this forum to incite or justify any illegal acts.

By that logic, inciting or justifying physical discipline for children is against the rules here.

So, what are the consequences for violating this specific rule? How have users been penalized for such infractions in the past, and what was the disciplinary action taken against the moderator?

Nobody actually got banned from that thread.

Alex Barnes8 was constantly being subjected to things like this—and those are just the mild versions—yet the conclusion drawn (by others, including you) was that she was just trolling. 🤷

I never once claimed that other people here weren't trolling or being disrespectful, too.

Since you all just won't stop with the constant provocations—even after being warned more than once—I’m locking this thread down.

I’ve already cleared out some of the junk, and I’ll probably be scrubbing through a few more pieces of nonsense shortly. I'll know exactly what needs to go when I sit down to review these last few dozen deleted posts.

Well, yeah, that's true, I guess, but it isn't actually a crime under the Penal Code. I honestly don't quite get why that part seems so hard for people to wrap their heads around!

Look, if an action is illegal—like hitting children—then promoting, encouraging, or glorifying those exact same actions is also off-limits. Seriously, it's not that complicated to understand.

redviper32 said:That’s true, I guess, but strictly speaking, corporal punishment isn't actually a crime itself. The rules say it's forbidden to justify or glorify criminal acts, but a crime is only what's specifically defined under the Penal Code.

It seems like a bit of an oversight by the admins, but hey, since we're already nitpicking, we might as well go all the way, right? 😁

Under American law, hitting children is prohibited.

Lisa Rodriguez84 said:I was reading some news reports about various foster care facilities and group homes for kids under 18. Honestly, if a 12-year-old genuinely thinks they're being abused, they should just head straight to one of those institutions.
I have a feeling they’d be begging to go back home pretty fast. A little occasional spanking or getting a firm earful isn't nearly as bad as the reality of what kids actually face in those state-run homes.

🤦

Things can always get worse. To me, the idea that a child should be happy because they only (yuck) get hit occasionally—just because things could be even worse elsewhere—is absolutely terrible. 😢
