Honestly, you might want to just retire this account altogether and start fresh with a brand new one, but there's a catch—you can't go around posting on the same thread using two different handles. Plus, on certain sub-forums, you’re actually required to stick to the same username across every single topic. 🙂
There’s actually no way to delete them once they're up. 🙂 Maybe just take a quick second to double-check things before you hit that "post" button next time.
You can still scrub your posts if you catch them within about 90 minutes or so—just look for the EDIT button while it's still active.
Just go ahead and create some absolutely insane password—something totally random that has zero connection to anything, super long, and impossible to memorize. Then, once you hit confirm, just let the whole thing crash and log yourself out. 🤷
Your post on the Zapatista Army of National Liberation forum was straight-up spam, so it got nuked since it had absolutely nothing to do with the topic and didn't add anything useful to the conversation. Honestly, posts like that—and stuff just like it—aren't even allowed on this board anyway; they just get wiped out, and sometimes you even end up getting banned. 🙂

But honestly, I’m pretty much on the same page as the moderator who commented right above my post.
The thing is, his handle used to be four characters (-Um-) because the system wouldn't let him register with just two since it was too short, but then they changed it for him later after he asked. 🙂 😁 😁
From what I can tell, three is the absolute bare minimum. My own handle is only four letters long, and I know plenty of other folks around here have short names too. 😁
From what I can gather, the whole thing boils down to this: the only real difference between posting an email address and an MSN handle is that one is actually against the law while the other isn't. It’s basically a massive loophole, and honestly, our legal system is a complete joke—which, if you ask me, says a lot about how things are run in this country. Of course, a forum is stuck following the rules, no matter how much they resemble a tangled mess of red tape, so they have to block email addresses while letting people post their MSN handles just fine. I know, I know—it sounds totally debatable and makes zero sense to the average person, and frankly, even to a lot of the moderators. 😬 And at the end of the day, who can you even complain to? Hey, sorry to jump into this thread, but if your professors already know who you are on the forums and they're reading your posts, there’s a huge chance they’ll spot this one too, and then they'll know your new nickname immediately. Especially if you keep using the same avatar, signature, and writing style on the same threads. It won't just be the teachers who catch on; everyone else will see it's you too.
If you really want to go completely off the grid, your best bet is to just start a brand new account and keep it on the down-low. Don't tell anyone about it. Just lay low for a bit. 🙂 I totally get how hard it is to walk away from all your old posts and your established identity, but sometimes it's honestly the smartest move. You'll start posting fresh, build up some new history, and eventually, you'll actually like the new persona more anyway. 🙂
The only changes we can actually make here aren't going to be drastic enough to hide the connection to your current name.
