Oh, absolutely, it’s innate. Honestly, I can't imagine what kind of fool would think such a thing could just be chosen!

Regrettably, I have to be blunt here. If the world were different—if we lived in a more tolerant society without the constant barrage of verbal and physical attacks—we might actually be able to debate the "what if it isn't innate" angle. But as it stands? I fail to see what kind of masochist would intentionally select a path that guarantees a lifetime of social scrutiny and insults from everyone from strangers to their own family..
Gary James88 said:"Stupid Americans?" 😕 That's just stereotyping and being plain old insulting.

Fair point... you caught me there. My apologies...😁

I have to admit, though, you did manage to throw me off my game for a second.🙄
neonhound10 said:That wasn't meant as an insult, which honestly just highlights how much you're missing the point here...

Maybe I should try to explain it to you, though it feels pretty pointless, but I was simply describing the historical reality of how people of color have been treated in the US.

Even today, some of the most intense racism can still be found right here in America, where the intolerance toward darker-skinned individuals remains incredibly high.

But hey, you clearly think you've got it all figured out, so I really don't understand why you're even bothering to engage in these bizarre arguments in the first place...

I personally have no problem accepting gay people in my community, but I have to wonder if they have the capacity to accept my own twisted way of thinking...

Oh, wonderful. Now you’ve started quoting those ridiculous Americans? Honestly, man, that is just pure madness.😁

Are you kidding me? Where on earth are you pulling that "breaking through" statistic from?🤣 🤣

What’s your take on this? It feels like we’re forced to navigate these "warped" perspectives on a daily basis.

It’s all just a rerun at this point. We've seen it before, we're seeing it now, and frankly, we'll probably see it all over again. It's nothing new under the sun.
neonhound10 said:Man, geez, you are way more sensitive than a freaking mimosa plant.

Honestly, people who just can't take a joke are mentally checked out. No offense intended...

Look... it's not that I'm overly sensitive, it's just that I find myself constantly surprised by this level of behavior, and frankly, I'm running out of reasons to be shocked.

Humor? Sorry, but making jokes based on race isn't "humor" to me. It's just cheap.
neonhound10 said:We’re all stuck in the same boat here, really... they’re fighting for their rights, and I’m just out here fighting for mine.

Everything is perfectly legal, no shady business involved.

Honestly, you guys are acting so soft, terrified that some liberal activists might influence how we raise our kids.

It’s honestly pathetic how sensitive everyone has become lately... where did we even go wrong? Because personally, I don't see the issue, I'm all about being "tolerant" and all that other nonsense.

I'll be the first to admit it—I'm an aggressive person and probably the least tolerant soul on this planet!

All these overly sensitive types are just driving me absolutely crazy...

Bravo. That’s how you do it. You should have just cut through the pseudo-intellectual BS from the jump instead of making us wade through it.

Truly tragic..
neonhound10 said:It honestly feels a lot like those stories you hear from back in the States, right around the time everything was being legalized... 🙂 Back then, it was all one thing after another, and eventually, any crime or offense committed by a Black person just couldn't be prosecuted because people would always step in and claim it was all about race...

I know I’m probably going to deal with a whole crowd of people who just won't grasp what I'm actually trying to say here, but then again, that seems to be the case with certain groups too... if I say I don't want them on my team, it's simply because they aren't a fit for me, and it doesn't mean I have anything against them personally...

That’s what freedom of speech is all about...

Honestly, if they just formed their own separate league and explicitly stated they didn't want straight people in their ranks, nobody would be making a fuss... It wouldn't be seen as discrimination at all, but rather just a group of people setting their own boundaries to protect themselves...

I understand perfectly well what you're getting at, and frankly, with every subsequent comment, you're leaving me more stunned... (bolded and underlined)

Even if it was intended as a joke, it really isn't appropriate.
Anthony Sanders53 said:I feel like everyone has a bit of a homosexual side to their personality, deep down. It’s honestly pretty heavy how much judgment, misunderूनstanding, and straight-up intolerance there is when it comes to sexuality. Being gay can be about caring for your family, because, sadly, it's so often met with discrimination once you step outside the house... but if that discrimination starts happening within the family too... then things are just truly sad. I guess, unfortunately, it feels like there’s hardly any family out there that doesn't discriminate against their homosexual members, more or less...

I couldn't agree more.👍

Trazim_auto As I was saying:
Yeah, I’ve heard that theory floating around, but if we follow that logic to its conclusion, it implies that certain traits only surface under specific circumstances. It’s like saying a person might carry a latent tendency that stays dormant until they hit a certain breaking point—or perhaps when they simply lack the willpower to keep it suppressed. It’s less about a permanent state and more about whether an individual has the mental bandwidth to hold the lid on it.

If this hypothesis actually held water, it would essentially force society to implement countermeasures against homosexuality, based on the fear that it would somehow spread through the entire population. Honestly, proving such a thing wouldn't even benefit the LGBTQ+ community. It would be counterproductive. On the contrary, their best bet would be to demonstrate that the percentage of homosexual individuals in the population remains relatively constant—much like how certain demographic trends stabilize over time. That way, you eliminate the panic regarding some sort of "contagion" effect and remove the pretext for any reactionary social measures.

What kind of fear are we even talking about here? Honestly, it feels like we’re living in some sort of paranoid fever dream lately. It's exhausting.

I honestly can't wrap my head around why anyone would even advocate for measures against homosexuality. To be perfectly blunt, it feels like an incredibly regressive and frankly appalling stance to take.😲 Look, let’s be realistic here: there will always be homosexuals, just as there will always be heterosexuals. It’s simply one of those fundamental constants of human nature.
Well, if we’re going to dive headfirst into this kind of psychological deep-diving, there’s also that school of thought suggesting that everyone is inherently bisexual at their core. The idea is that some people naturally lean into it, while others might repress those feelings deep within their subconscious—or perhaps they find the very concept so unsettling that they end up projecting that discomfort through homophobia...

There’s a study for just about everything, I suppose...
Where on earth did this comparison between people with Down syndrome and gay men even come from? Are we actually listening to ourselves here?

What kind of rational person would ever attempt to draw an equivalence between those two groups?

Are we seriously suggesting that being gay inherently implies some kind of mental or physical deficiency?😲 😲
Gary James88 said:Well, scientific consensus doesn't exactly mirror the delusions of a madman.

Don't lose sleep over it. Historically, the percentage of gay individuals has stayed pretty much the same, hovering between 2% and 10% depending on the study. A massive spike would be a threat to the species, but there's zero evidence that numbers are actually increasing, so there's really nothing to fear.

As long as we have things like IVF, humanity isn't going anywhere, so it’s honestly pretty ridiculous to even bring up the "extinction" argument...

And frankly, as time marches on, I suspect we'll stumble upon plenty of other ways to ensure the next generation keeps coming.

Using that kind of logic as an excuse to harbor hatred toward gay people is just a weak, pathetic rationalization.

But they were all perfect when it came to intellectual connection.

It makes me proud of my choices. Girls, I'll love you all...

Thank you, thank you. Elvis has left the building.

But we weren't even talking about looks... at least, I wasn't.

But regarding Elvis... you really gave him his due.😉

Watch out for the groupies when you're heading out of the building.🙂 🙂
neonhound10 said:Yeah, around here, if you don't share the exact same opinion, they'll label you a toddler, a racist, or even a terrorist...

And if I can't wrap my head around the way these guys think, suddenly I'm the degenerate or the idiot...

It's always me who has to be understanding. Apparently, if I'm "broken," then I'm supposed to go out and demand special rights...

There are probably enough of them out there to start their own massive organizations so the whole world has to care about them. Honestly, who cares, everyone is out there hunting for their own version of freedom and trying to pass off their quirks as perfectly normal...

Why shouldn't pedophiles get all the rights too? Maybe they were just born that way? Who knows...

But they actually get punished, and apparently it's just because they didn't present themselves well... 🙂

Fine... let's try a more sophisticated angle then. How would you expect a seven-year-old to explain the fundamental difference between a homosexual and a pedophile?

Or does that distinction also vanish in whatever parallel universe you inhabit?😲
@wanderingscout13..it’s hard to hold a grudge against someone unless their actions actually start stepping on someone else's toes. I honestly don't understand why that concept is such a hard pill for people to swallow.
David Vaughn4 said:He passed away and I'm just feeling low😬

Perhaps... though at least his legacy lives on through his kids..😉
neonhound10 said:Thanks for pointing that out, I definitely got a bit carried away...

I lost my train of thought, but this guy from the thread 🙂

My apologies once again.

Good grief, he didn't catch on!!🤣 🤣

But then again, why am I even surprised?😕
neonhound10 said:🙂

So, am I supposed to sue you now for being insulting?

And what about all of you who claim to be fighting for rights while simultaneously trampling over everyone else's?

Honestly, a gay man is a walking paradox in itself because he isn't interested in women,🙂

which basically means he's discriminating against the opposite sex.

Besides, your lectures and "enlightened" stances barely reach the nearest stars, so they're pretty hard for someone like me to wrap my head around...

I actually enjoy pushing back against this forced, cookie-cutter version of the world—that's just who I am—whereas you just go along with the crowd, and that's who you are.

Isn't it just wonderful how diverse and colorful this world is, having to endure both your "intellectuals" and us degenerates?

I truly love it...🙂

exactly👍
David Vaughn4 said:Hey everyone, could you do me a favor and head over to the "Latent Homophobia" thread? I started it recently, and honestly, it’s a pretty deep dive with some really solid points laid out there.

Thanks, folks.

neonhound10 said:Look, I live by my own convictions, not by some rulebook that I had no hand in writing...

The real question is, what's wrong with having an opinion?

Don't I have a right to my thoughts? Or have the liberals stripped me of that, too?...

Of course, you’re entitled to your opinion. I’m honestly not sure why I expected this particular topic to be any different from the usual collection of regressive, Neanderthal perspectives you tend to favor.

My mistake.
