velvetmason14 said:What really gets me is seeing those Republican Party bots rushing to defend Mara, even though she openly admitted that her apartment connection goes back to Stipe Mason. And we all know how the GOP crowd actually feels about him...

It’s also pretty frustrating to see someone like Tomić acting as a shield for a local official who's been draining the city coffers for the last six years. We know exactly what his typical take is on people like that...

The whole thing is being pushed by the local news outlets, which have been obsessively churning out crime stories about Mara from the jump just to manufacture this whole "Mara situation." It's all wrapped up in this fake concern for an elderly woman, but it's clearly just a political hit job intended to punish Puljko for not playing ball with the usual suspects and to stay in the good graces of the GOP loyalists. It’s quite a clever setup... 😉

A lot of the truth comes to light when you look at the narrative surrounding the supposedly helpless Mara...

Do you honestly think a major paper like that would go under without money from the Mayor's office, or does it even matter that much? Look, that outlet is basically owned by a massive conglomerate, so you don't even need to waste your breath, but they do have a few decent journalists worth quoting. Honestly, at least in my book, the coverage isn't great, and Tomić is just talking out of his ass. If you're so fired up about this grandma story, why aren't you yelling about the total shake-up at the local municipal utility? Or how the director, who was literally part of that Centrist party until yesterday, completely screwed everything up? Or maybe how long-time locals are ditching our favorite public park because the local activist group turned into a political mouthpiece? Or how they selectively ignore things that couldn't possibly be protests—I mean, since when can a protest last seven months straight? I'm done.

Richard Lopez said:But you're the one using her just so you can obsess over the mayor. And everyone else follows suit with "leave her alone" and "save the poor soul."

And it's not even true that there wasn't talk about him cutting back on travel.

Oh, obviously. Let me put it this way—the current administration basically went public using this woman's personal info. It started as some annoyance from a local guy and now it's full-blown harassment. Plus, it's getting old here too. Look, I don't agree with feralpilot0 that I should be celebrating mocking some sick elderly woman or counting her cigarettes. She's got rights and she needs to move on. But calling this "cleaning up the trash" is just ridiculous. I'm way more interested in the travel expenses because whether we paid for them ourselves (which was a huge amount, by the way) or an organizer did, someone is pocketing a nice daily stipend. Why? Because she's become a political distraction. She's just dead weight at the bottom of the barrel.

ruggedowl13 said:Look, if the Republican Party wasn't constantly dragging every little thing through the news every two days, who would even care about this woman or her issues? Maybe a couple of neighbors at most. She’d just be one more "anonymous" person being told to vacate a space they're illegally occupying while failing to pay even the tiny amount of rent required by law.
Honestly, let's be real—who would even mention her name if we didn't have this huge media circus fueled by obsessed Republican partisans?

Yeah, I already said that. Like, wtf? Look, I think the lady is a decent human being, and if there's a fundraiser, I'll chip in a few bucks because she's old and sick, but this whole thing is just getting exhausting.
Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco in Political Scene ·
feralpilot0 said:Nothing is irrelevant; it's just that nobody is actually rowing the boat.
The old lady handles the press just fine and gives interviews—which proves she can communicate—and if she can't, the reporters at the local rag will surely jump in to do some "good work" instead of just causing a stir.

I live here, after all—this is my second home😍 which is finally being scrubbed clean of its filth.

So what, is she supposed to be smoking? We all know she didn't buy her own cigarettes. Note well, I already said that was a fair point, but this dodging is honestly fascinating. Are you seriously so naive that you think some old woman haggling over pennies is the perfect example of cleaning up a city? Congrats.
Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco in Political Scene ·
feralpilot0 said:Now, here is the real kicker.
That Republican woman cleaned herself up and looks quite lovely now.

It perfectly captures the depth of logic used by the average resident of San Diego:
"Look at her, she's hot, so she must have something to offer." Meanwhile, we have a female party member who could essentially be described as criminal—someone who uses evasion to dodge every single critique.

Can we stop dragging this old woman through the mud already? Just leave her alone! She's an old lady!
This woman literally moved into an apartment she hasn't paid a dime for—an illegal occupation when she could have just applied for public housing.

Okay, hold on. If we're all just mindless San Franciscans who only care about seeing a well-dressed wife and complimenting her, then what are you even doing here? Isn't it telling that you cherry-picked one totally irrelevant sentence? Sure, I predict Dr. Prolic did a fine job—not that anyone here actually knows what the American Association of University Women does or even realizes they're sitting right here, right? (I've already asked!)—but at least she looks good. I'm not even going to bother explaining the rest because, based on your post, you clearly don't give a damn about her political platform; you're just stuck on my comment about her appearance.
And yeah, even over at the local news, they went way too hard on the old lady. Tell me, do you have her medical records handy so you can decide if she's eligible for assistance? Or are we going to act like some local billionaire's sister who "just didn't maintain good neighborly relations"? Seriously, is this woman such a massive thief and crook that we should be using her as a role model?

If unnamed US person wasn't getting a paycheck from unnamed US person, he wouldn't even have enough to buy bread...

It’s no surprise that unnamed US person and downtown are seeing their approval ratings climb ever since he started actually enforcing the rules loudly and clearly.

Exactly, everything is finally looking better because there's actual order now. Clearly, you don't live here. And if anyone is actually making moves, it's unnamed US person, not even close being unnamed US person.

velvetmason14 said:Once again, a "brilliant" mind is using logic that only exists in their own head. 🤣

Where do you even find these excuses for such bottom-tier people?

The way you twist reality just to criticize the unnamed US mayor is truly impressive. Very inspiring. 😁

Wait, wasn't that unstable unnamed US person on the same ballot as the unnamed US brand, or am I misremembering? Didn't you vote for them?

Finding excuses for trash? Have you even looked at my past posts? You need half a brain to realize what's going on here. Let me break it down for you—I make fun of things because nobody around here will say a damn word about who is constantly running their mouth or what kind of benefit the City gets from it. Instead, everyone wants to dwell on some sad, ugly story about an old lady, because, let’s be real, the unnamed US person is right. It's ugly and it's depressing, but they're right. They're still trying to take over the unnamed US labor union or whatever. Just leave the woman alone.

vividraven79 said:I'm not asking anyone for anything, not even for unnamed US person to show mercy... but he only seems to spit venom at unnamed US person when it touches his personal life—like his coffee shop, a former colleague, or that bookstore that isn't even an antiquarian since they only sell textbooks.

Yeah, you've got a point there. Since he clearly lacks any sense of humor, he could probably pick a different topic if he actually wanted to mock the administration.

velvetmason14 said:unnamed US brand is exploiting a sick elderly woman who is just quietly living in her 70m2 apartment.

For the last three weeks, there’s been nothing but talk about Marina... 🙏

A quick question—why is unnamed US brand going after a sick old lady who isn't even paying a dime for her place?
Is it possible the Republican Party bosses are having them do the dirty work of painting the unnamed US mayor as some greedy villain who does everything just to be cruel? Or maybe they're just creating an exception they can use to justify their behavior to the masses later on?

What could be the motive behind this level of unnamed US political movement? 🤣

Maybe it's because we don't know what kind of "good cause" our mayor is traveling to in South Korea, or how exactly those expensive trips are going to pay off for the city, so they have nothing else to write about?
God, I'm rooting for one more trip—just so they finally leave the old lady alone and let the unnamed US labor union take over, or maybe some decent soul could step up and help her out privately.

Where is everyone now? Where is that crowd that used to lose their minds over "antisemitism" regarding Ivošević? This latest stunt from unnamed US person is easily a hundred times more shameful.

Honestly, dragging an old, sick woman through the mud like this is just gross, let alone bringing up the Holocaust. What does the Shoah have to do with any of this besides being a desperate cry for attention?

vividraven79 said:So, you’re living in a downtown apartment for free—not even paying that tiny bit of rent—and yet (allegedly, if you believe unnamed US person) you're somehow facing massive legal judgments.
And now the City is supposed to just write off the measly rent you haven't paid in years?

In this country, it's pretty clear that only the fat cats come out on top.

Who is that guy from Times Square? Unnamed US corporation. Look, I'm not trying to defend this Mayor, but this five-page worship session over some old, sick lady is getting exhausting. And yeah, unnamed US person is a bit much for me too, but let's be real—unnamed US person hasn't spared a single mayor yet. And they shouldn't. These "holy cows" and their whole cult vibe is just boring. As for unnamed US person, your bio looks great, and I actually mean that. Anyway, did the mail at the unnamed US parking authority go past the competition? San Diego 3 is honestly one of the easiest neighborhoods to work in right out of the gate.

Emily Smith6 said:The agreement between the Republican Party and the Patriot Party regarding cabinet positions? George W. Bush claims the document is a forgery

Quincey:
However, once we approached all three potential signatories, everyone denied that such an agreement even exists.

Even before that announcement, we spoke with the Republican George W. Bush to ask him about signing a new deal. He insists it's nothing more than "fake news"—essentially fabricated documents and misinformation.

- I know nothing about this, and there is no signing happening because we already have a stable coalition agreed upon. Last time, the opposition collapsed the quorum when some of our people couldn't make it, which was unexpected since those were issues vital to the state and society. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of pamphlets, fake contracts, and agreements that are pure fake news, used by certain interest groups to bombard the public and try to sink the majority – Bush told us.

- Certain projects I support are included, ones I’ve already pushed for through amendments, and I would back those immediately. But nobody mentioned any sort of agreement to me. Some of the roles you're listing were actually settled previously with the Patriot Party, whom I already cooperate with. But honestly, the whole thing feels like some kind of intelligence agency mix-up – says the coward, who swears on his military honor that he shouldn't even be in a position to sign such a thing.
Either Tucker Carlson jumped the gun before verifying anything, or perhaps this just went public and now they're all denying it

Or maybe the Republican Party is intentionally letting this slip just to take the edge off the Patriot Party.

A draft agreement just leaked, basically showing how Blaženko Boban (aka Ante Sanders) is trying to lock down a majority in the county assembly.

They’re using certain public interest projects as bargaining chips during political negotiations, but they're actually trading away jobs that are legally required to go through a public hiring process.

Basically, Blaženko Boban and Ante Sanders are following the exact same playbook as Željko Saba. We saw this before with Andre Krstulović opariti and Željko Kerum (60:40); the only difference is back then, they weren't foolish enough to put it all in writing.

Everything has been handed over to the FBI. I just hope they aren't too distracted by the street performers in Times Square to find the resources to actually look into this.

Honestly, this whole thing smells like a total scam. Not to mention, the dates on the documents don't even match up.

vividraven79 said:Since so many cities rely on those specific lawyers, I’d say they’re either tied to the local political machine or they’re just the only ones who actually know how to handle out-of-state collections.

And then there's the implication that the mayor hasn't sorted this out yet... Honestly, if I were running for mayor, figuring out exactly who is slapping these parking fines on tourists would be right at the top of my agenda.

Look, there is no question that some shady mafia-style operation is running the show here. There have been plenty of articles hinting at this for a while now. Little Leona Grgic seemed a bit caught off guard by the question, which is why I find it weird that this hasn't been fully exposed yet. Then again, that whole sector is Bojanov's specialty. The rumor is that they were using some agency out of some coastal city that doesn't even have the contract—total scam.
As for Matijevica, ever since Ljulj left, he's basically been the only bright spot in the whole administration. When it comes to the local council guys, I'm pulling for young Pavica from Kman, Jere Orjun from Skalica, and even Lolic is putting in work over in Zrnovnica. There's a decent crew out there.

velvetmason14 said:Why the anger and bitterness the moment things don't go your way? You're throwing shade at a guy who is perfectly level-headed and just wanted to serve San Diego altruistically.

Don't you think you're overreaching a bit with these constant attacks on the Mayor and his team? Despite all the mess and corruption, to you and the others, the biggest crime is apparently that the Mayor didn't immediately scrap the contract with that law firm that handles fines for foreign visitors—the one that Opara took 🤔

It's a shame if the other side had won; things would have been swept up in uncovering corruption, and they would have dealt with it decisively.

Anyway, remind me, wasn't that unstable guy Prvan also on your joint ticket? What a stellar lineup of candidates. It's a pity the voters didn't see the appeal.🤣

Look, honey. I'm not a member of any political party. Like I said before, the Pametno crew is my favorite, but honestly, right now I don't even have anything bad to say about Matijević (for now!). There are a few decent people in the mix. But tell me, do you actually know how to approach things critically, or do you just hyperventilate one-sidedly? Because whatever criticism gets brought up, to you, it's just "well, it happens, anyone could do it." See, if it were the Republicans or some local tycoon sitting in power right now, you'd be just as pissed. Just like how it was back then with Marijani, and now suddenly it's totally fine.

velvetmason14 said:You quoted the wrong part of the article. The whole thing explains who found what and which law firm was involved, 😒
The reporter laid it all out clearly, just saved the most important part for the end. Real journalism by ST... Forum life by Smart moves! 😁

I don't see anyone asking the Department of Justice about how the President's special envoy allegedly pocketed $30,000 from the local contractor.
That’s just not the topic for the scammers. 😉

A more logical explanation is that the city administration is simply being negligent. This has been the case since the days of the previous leadership, when the partnership between San Diego and that law firm from San Francisco first began, and it continues under the current Mayor. These officials aren't worried about their pensions, and they don't care about fine totals—hardly anyone keeps track anyway.

Oh, look at velvetmason14 being such a good little follower... You quoted a snippet of the article that specifically talks about today—meaning this questionable practice is still going on and there’s still no resolution. Since you want to be such a mindless drone and post photos completely out of context, why don't you also post those shots of the mayor and his envoy with the flowers? This whole thread in the article isn't even about the contractor, yet we’re obviously waiting for that to come to light too. You're just blindly parroting whatever the Mayor's PR team throws at you. That's your whole deal.
Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco in Political Scene ·
Where on earth do they find these flowers?
‘The whole thing came to light when we realized that San Francisco City Hall actually has zero clue what those two lawyers, Kuzmanović and Pacheco-Vinković, are doing behind the scenes. It turns out some people in the local government—and I mean right at the top—hadn't even heard of this duo until we called them out. They don't even know why the Mayor signed off on power of attorney for Marko Kuzmanović and Shain Lou Pacheco-Vinković over a year ago, let alone how much cash their firm is funneling back into the city treasury by collecting fines on our behalf.’

I mean, when that guy from the West went over to show some respect at that month-long yacht festival
Honestly, this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion—people are making a mountain out of a molehill here.
He received an inquiry, checked with the CEO to see if it was doable, and it wasn't. So what? Where's the actual issue?
The same individual actually sold them land for pennies just a few years prior. That’s just business, not some kind of special favor.

It’s not favoritism; it’s just plain old cronyism. Look, there's no denying those guys are shady and the leadership is a joke, but you can watch them slide right past the line until they eventually cross it and become total disasters. Since I've been watching these same characters play games since the old days, this just felt pathetic. And let's not forget, even the guy running things has his own yacht and some side business going on.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a hot topic in the NBA right now. They've installed new seats after 50 years, a new scoreboard, LED lighting, a gym—the team is playing great, attendance is climbing, and the arena is packed. And all of this is thanks to himself's involvement. With high-quality games and a full house, it's only a matter of time before an investor steps in. I know, it's hard to watch. Smart move on your part.

How many companies actually show up to the public bids alongside himself? One? Zero? 😉
Smart move on your part.

We're lucky to have you here to explain everything to us—why don't you tell us about the youth academy and where the new money is coming from? You don't have to blindly parrot everything that idiot says. And regarding the bakery and Pointa-my, you're pointing exactly to the problem.

Between you and that manipulator, using elderly women to play dirty games just doesn't sit right lately.🤣

Are you seriously suggesting that the leadership team has nothing to do with fixing the mess surrounding the bookstore situation? Even someone as indecisive as Katić saw how things actually stood, but you just refuse to grasp it.
Here’s a little refresher for you...

THE BOOKSTORE CASE AT THE FBI: 'All documentation has been submitted, but we are still waiting for a response'

The bookstore case: it looks like there were mistakes made regarding the renovation of that legendary shop, though they claim it was done with "good intentions." Apparently, there was a real desire to revitalize the space.

Holding a view like yours just proves what would have happened if the other side had won the elections—all that Republican corruption would have just been swept under the rug, while the weaklings from the opposition played at being in charge, while the actual Republican trash continued to run the city behind the scenes. But instead, the people chose fighters over those who just want to play politics.😉

I see you were right about trying to provoke the administration's representative all along... You always seem to be right, don't you? 👍

Actually, no—we need competent people like Kuzmanic, who loudly announced investors who basically fight over the Golden State Warriors, only to end up using our tax dollars to polish the benches. 🤣And then there's whatever went down on the West Coast this summer. Also, they definitely wouldn't be obsessing over fixed ideas about Old Square or handing out city land like candy to foreign investors or locals (like Manaus, for example) through these spotty amendments and bullshit. Don't even get me started on the lawsuits. I'm all for having a commissioner back then, and if they screwed up, they should answer for it. Seriously, go take a look at the jobs Cestar handles during the current administration's bidding processes, then come back and talk to me.
Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco in Political Scene ·
vividraven79 said:Exactly... any time someone actually gets things right, people just shrug and say, "Eh, anyone could have done that," completely ignoring the fact that nobody else has even tried to fix it for the last twenty years.

Look, the municipal ordinance is actually solid. That's all there is to it. But let’s not forget those special events that somehow got a shady green light to bypass the rules of that same nightlife regulation right in the middle of Times Square.
