I put a little bit of money on the French side, since 2.1 feels just a bit too high to pass up without taking a shot at it.
Today marks the Group D derby, a true litmus test for both sides. For the Spaniards, we have to wonder if they’re actually as dominant as their record suggests, while for the French, is there really any way they could play even worse than they just did?

I still have my faith in the North American Prince of French handball.🙂
I caught about fifteen minutes of that first half between the Mexicans and the Danes, and honestly, it was just a disaster to watch them play, especially since the Danes were clearly finding their rhythm while the perimeter defense was completely non-existent.

As far as I know, we're playing against the Ukrainians☕

we 👋

Omeyer finished with 24 saves, which works out to about 55%, though you have to remember that half of those were clear-cut chances.
Canada vs. Spain, 9-17 at halftime

If the Canadians hadn't swapped out their goalie, we probably would have been looking at a score of 30 by now 🙏
The Spanish are staring at the Canadians

Honestly, Vid has been the most reliable penalty taker we've seen in years, hasn't he?

Over the last two years, across four different Champions League finals, he hasn't missed a single penalty shot.

And half of those were just lucky bounces, weren't they? 😂
The way the French are playing right now is honestly a crime; they’re missing shots left and right like they can't find the rim to save their lives. And don't even get me started on that defense—it’s practically non-existent. It felt like the Czechs were just strolling through their zone without any resistance at all. Dinart is stuck watching Karabatić, Karabatić is busy shadowing Gille, and Onesta? Well, he’s just out there making everyone look absolutely ridiculous. 🙏
Or maybe not, there are just way too many holes in the French game, and they definitely look pretty bad
Omeyer has pulled off more saves in just the first fifteen minutes than he did during that entire game against the Canadians🙂

The Frenchmen are just cruising toward a win right now

Aha, well, either way, you definitely have a pretty dark sense of humor, don't you?🙂
Lisa Sanchez8 said:I think the Frenchies were missing their top player, Henry, which is probably why they ended up with a draw. 🤷 😬

All jokes aside, I didn't catch the game, but isn't it strange that Omeyer had such a tough time with those saves?

I'm watching the Canadian team today, and I'm really hoping they don't drive me as crazy as yesterday did.

Are you Canadian?
Does anyone know how much longer this is going to last, or have there been any official announcements about when things might get back to normal? 🙂
"To be or not to be," right? For the Frenchmen, if they drop this one, their run ends today and they're out of the semi-finals before they even get a chance to breathe 🙂.
It looks like even the underdog started things off with a win, though I suppose none of us were really surprised by that outcome, were we?🙂
Meyer's four defensive plays 😂😂😂 honestly felt more like they just parked a heavy bag of cement on the field 😂😂
than actually playing any kind of defense, don't you think?

Sure, maybe he does, but honestly? The Americans look better at every single position on the court except for goalie.

Of course, they actually have to step up and prove they’re superior out there, but anything short of taking home the gold this tournament would be considered a total failure for them.

They really need to pull off something that hasn't been done in the history of the sport—unifying all three major titles.

And if you ask me, they have an even loftier goal in mind: sweeping every single gold medal from one Olympics straight through to the next. They feel even more dominant than they did back when they were playing in the States, so I don't think they'll be lacking any motivation whatsoever.

I truly believe we are about to spend the next two weeks watching handball history being written right before our eyes.🙂

Miracles really do happen in sports, though we probably shouldn't lose our heads and assume they happen every single day, right?
