And seriously, why didn't anyone even think to ask what happened when that guy left all that cash sitting in the apartment? I mean, if he was panicking so hard that he bailed and forgot his phone and his car—which, by the way, sounds like a total nightmare—then there's no way he just "forgot" a pile of money behind. I highly doubt he just dropped it the second he walked through the door...

Lawrence Edwards58 said:Look, Grace Sanchez50, I don't see you actually saying anything about the movie itself—you just spent the whole time bragging about your phone. Seriously, stick to the prompt and back up your claims with some actual points. Just a heads-up, you aren't gonna get any arguments from me on this film forum, nor am I trying to help you out here. Figure it out yourself.

So, I was chatting with goldenhound32 earlier, and I already posted my full review in a different thread. And honestly? Mentioning the phone matters because it ties into my point! It’s the exact same deal as that "you only need to watch a movie once" debate we had—you're basically stuck in this tiny little bubble of yours where nothing anyone says can touch you. To be blunt, you haven't dropped a single intelligent thought on this forum, not then and certainly not now, especially when it comes to movies. I'm still sitting here waiting for you to actually contribute something meaningful to this specific discussion about the film, but instead, you just keep circling back to me and my phone. Like, seriously, how long is this gonna last?

electrictrucker82 said:lol such a stupid comment. You can disable the PIN on any phone, just so you know—don't write this kind of nonsense 🙂 I have the PIN turned off on mine too.

Thanks for the movie recommendation, though! Hopefully, I can track it down somewhere.

Look, I'll hand you my phone right now—if you can actually manage to disable the PIN on this specific device, I'll give you 1,000 bucks on the spot. Some people just love trying to act smart, but I deal with this stuff every single day—it's literally my job. When I said "PIN," I was talking about the entire security architecture of a modern smartphone, not some old-school Nokia 3310 where sure, you could just swap it into some junk burner and bypass everything. But hey, you wrote "lol," so I'm sure you were definitely laughing out loud at your own brilliance.

And Lawrence Edwards58, honey, save those childish little semantics for a bunch of toddlers. The whole point of this forum is to actually talk about movies, not to keep a personal diary of every single impression you have. I'm still waiting for you to actually provide a real, coherent take on this film that might actually spark a decent discussion—something better than this incredibly dumb and pointless back-and-forth about a PIN.

Lawrence Edwards58 said:Man, you guys locked the thread because of some PIN? I don't even have one myself.
the movie was awesome, though.

Look, if you actually owned a thousand-dollar device like I do, you’d probably have a PIN.

Wow, thanks for such a massive contribution to the discussion with that "but the movie was great" logic—really helpful stuff there.

I mean, duh, it’s a smartphone. Seriously, what kind of smartphone in this day and age doesn't have a PIN? Mine has one, yours has one—who on earth is out here using a high-end device they dropped thousands of dollars on without any kind of security code?
And how are they even supposed to nail down who actually did it if there's no PIN? What, are they just gonna go around eyeballing random people on the street? I don't think the culture shown in his movies is really like that—people are generally more polite and respect certain boundaries. Especially privacy. Like, imagine a student with a dad on the police force trying to track down a phone number or something... that would be super awkward and messy, especially if it's just a prepaid burner phone...

The phone itself doesn't even matter—it looked like some beat-up relic a construction worker would’ve been lugging around back in '97. And look, even in this day and age, we all know not everyone uses the exact same charger, so that's not really a "thing" you can nitpick. Plus, if the device is PIN-protected, none of that matters anyway. We definitely don't need a five-minute dramatic scene of a husband plugging in his phone and then squinting at the screen trying to guess the code. A smart director just cuts out that kind of fluff—if they had included it, it would've just been a total drag and killed the movie's pacing.

hollowowl15 said:They could’ve easily cut out a huge chunk of this movie—honestly, they wouldn't have lost a thing by ditching all those rituals, the chicken stuff, and whatever else. Less is definitely more here.

The only thing I was actually waiting for was an explanation as to why the demon is targeting this little girl specifically. But no—it just claims evil is arbitrary, while she’s "good" because of her father's sins.
It’s just completely pointless.
Out of this year's American horror releases, I much preferred the one set on the train.

"The rooster will crow three times, and then you'll lose me," Jesus Peter said—and man, this movie pulls so many parallels to Christianity, which is pretty surprising. Even at the end, when that good angel tells him to wait until the rooster crows three times so his family can be saved, but he just refuses to listen.

Honestly, though? That ritual is the best part of the movie—probably one of the most striking scenes I've seen all year.

The Shaman was in on the whole scheme with that Japanese person from the get-go—it’s pretty much staring you right in the face. Both of them have been evil since day one.
He claimed he wasn't going to stop the session because the whole thing was part of the design, but the father stepped in once he saw what was actually happening to the girl.

Absolute masterpiece—easily one of the best movies I've seen all year. So far, anyway.

Nope.

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. I mean, sure, the technical stuff is top-tier, but let’s be real—Avatar is technically flawless too, so that doesn't really win me over. You've got Bill and Idris killing it, but the plot feels like a carbon copy of the animated movie, and by the middle, it just turns into this super childish, boring slog.
And don't even get me started on that part where Walken starts singing... seriously, that was easily the worst part of the whole movie. Just awful.

Betty Nelson71 said:Man, what a total letdown. I really went into this expecting way more from the Coen brothers—I mean, they usually kill it—but this was just a mess. It felt so disjointed, like they just threw everything at the wall to see what stuck. Seriously, there were way too many random scenes of people dancing, singing, and swimming... it just didn't flow at all. I think I get the poetic vibe they were aiming for, I really do, but man... it just didn't land for me.🥱Honestly, the only thing I can actually get into is Hobie—that one scene where he's just nailing his lines? Pure gold. Everything else is just extra.🤣
I actually passed out after like 30 minutes—total blackout!

Did you actually catch what that poet was trying to get at after only 30 minutes? Seriously—I feel like I need a second pass just to process it!
The Coen brothers—man, they just hit different.Hey! What's up?Man, they really did Garfield dirty in that write-up. Seriously, I'm absolutely livid about it! 😛

Honestly, I thought Once was total garbage—just a super irritating film, so I didn't even bother with the second one. But this third one? It’s easily the best of the bunch.

I’ve been blasting the soundtrack and singing that one Up song for days now—it's totally stuck in my head!

Black Hawk Down is way better, but this one definitely gives off those same vibes. It’s a solid, decent flick from Bay—finally, he actually nailed something.
