let those who disturb suffer... in Music ·
Honestly, people will find any excuse to slack off—just lounging around, eating their weight in junk food, and singing some random hillbilly tune while they do absolutely nothing.

Mad props to the handball players, I guess, but the rest of the setup is just total garbage🙄.
Acupuncture and weight loss in Health ·
Look, I’ve personally used acupuncture to help clear up a few different health issues, so I’m definitely not a skeptic when it comes to how well it works... but honestly, there isn't any logical reason why anyone should have to deal with being insulted, no matter how prestigious or successful a doctor might be. I haven't had any direct run-ins with Dr. Car myself, but a close friend of mine was totally belittled by him just because she only lost about 0.6 pounds in a single week... and man, that is just zero percent professional. It’s really not okay (and honestly, those people who are working hard to drop weight in a private general practice shouldn't have to put up with that kind of attitude either).

I gave it a shot... but honestly? Total waste of money.😢

St. John's Wort oil in Health ·
I actually make my own St. John's Wort oil at home! I’ve found it works wonders if you toss in a few cloves right at the end; it makes the scent so much nicer, plus the cloves have those great antibacterial properties. I mostly use it whenever my skin gets super dry or if I'm dealing with eczema.

Just a heads-up though, since St. John's Wort contains hypericin—which basically acts as a natural antidepressant—it’s a huge component in all those herbal mood supplements you see everywhere. I guess it's important to remember not to go overboard with it, because it can definitely interact with other medications, like birth control and stuff.
L.A. Confidential (1997) in Movies ·
Solid movie. Spacey is incredible, and honestly, Crowe holds his own too.
I watched it on DVD, and there’s this whole behind-the-scenes featurette at the end—it's pretty cool stuff. I guess my only gripe is that Hanson can be a bit much sometimes... he just has this way of being exhausting, you know? But hey, the guy definitely knows how to make a movie (though, if I'm being real, maybe *Glengarry Glen Ross* is still my absolute favorite of his).👍
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Movies ·
I actually just watched it about a week ago.
Personally, I thought it was totally awesome... let me explain... whenever I sit down for movies like this, I basically switch into this total kid mode where everything is just suuuuppppeeerrrr fun for me.... plus, I end up jumping and freaking out at every single scary scene.... which honestly makes my partner feel pretty awkward because I'm making noises that definitely aren't age-appropriate.

I also felt like this second installment was better than the first one (Jason Isaacs is just pure evil, and Alan Rickman is a straight-up genius regardless—not to mention Snape is pretty hot, if you ask me—plus Kenneth Branagh is great, though he doesn't get nearly enough screen time compared to what's in the book). It felt much darker to me than the first movie.

But this guy I know (who hasn't even read the books) keeps insisting that this second part is worse and that the plot drags on forever at the start before rushing through the ending. To be fair, he kind of has a point; if you've actually read the book, following the story is a breeze, but for everyone else, it might be a little harder to keep up.🙂

How do you guys watch movies? in Movies ·
1. Going to the movies—you know, that massive screen, total darkness, the sweet sound of surround audio, and then you've got those annoying people talking through the whole thing or laughing at all the wrong parts (not to mention the constant smacking sounds from someone eating those damn Lay's popcorns)... but man, you just can't beat that whole vibe. I probably head out about once or twice a week.

2. VHS—only when I can't track down a DVD, I guess.

3. DVD—mostly just for whenever I'm hanging out at a friend's place.😉
General discussion on allergies in Health ·
Up until I was maybe 18 or 19, I didn't have any allergies at all. So, yeah, I managed to breeze through puberty—at least I hope that's how it worked—without any allergic reactions. The only thing was back when I was a tiny baby, they suspected I might be allergic to penicillin, but it turns out even that was a false alarm.

But man, now it feels like I'm allergic to everything! First off, the pollen started hitting me hard, and honestly, the worst part is that it seems to get more intense every single year. On top of that, I’ve also become super sensitive to fabric softeners and those aggressive new detergents they sell now. I have to go absolutely overboard rinsing all my clothes—especially my laundry—because if I don't, I end up scratching myself like a crazy person.😢
My Big Fat Greek Wedding in Movies ·
Honestly, I haven't laughed that hard in a movie theater in forever. It was one of those movies where you're almost embarrassed for the characters because it's so much, but in a good way.😳
I actually really loved how incredibly basic the whole plot was—you know, the classic trope of an older woman finding her prince charming, using all those cultural clashes for laughs—but somehow, the movie just feels so genuinely warm and fuzzy as a whole.
BTW, the lead actress, Nia Vardalos, actually wrote the whole thing herself! She used to perform the material as a stand-up comedian for ages until she eventually caught the eye of a producer working with Tom Hanks... and well, you know how the rest goes. Money got secured, the movie got made, and here we are.
All in all, big thumbs up from me!😁
