Dealing with a bunch of symptoms: hair loss, stomach pain, constipation, headaches, sweating, and sw
in Health ·
This could be the core issue behind your "eating healthy vs. eating junk" cycle. You might just be eating poorly.
There are many potential causes, and they’re likely being amplified by psychosomatic factors. First, try improving every possible aspect of your lifestyle, especially your diet. Cut out refined products, start taking probiotics, and definitely get your nutrition checked alongside testing for parasites.
Then there are sex hormones; an imbalance there can lead to various symptoms, including what you're experiencing.
Once you've eliminated those possibilities, check for bacterial issues. Did you happen to be bitten by a tick at any point in your life? It could be Lyme disease.
Vitamins matter too. Get some sunlight and fresh air immediately—Vitamin D is crucial for both physical energy and mental health.
Try to exercise and stay as active as you possibly can.
Have you tried fasting? Since you mentioned feeling better when you eat less, maybe try a 24-hour water fast.
I know you probably feel terrible right now, and this advice might seem overwhelming at first glance given your current state, but all you can really do is fight and try to get your life back to normal...
Also, talk to someone. Joining a support group or trying cognitive behavioral therapy might help. This could be a depressive episode, or perhaps something triggered by a physical cause.

Pick up some kefir grains and make your own at home—it’s even better if you can source local, farm-fresh milk.
Supposedly, the ratio of beneficial bacteria is as high as 100:1 compared to those store-bought probiotics (which are really just yogurt with a few extra cultures tossed in).

Do you have a spiritual mentor, and how much of an impact do they have on your life?

If you're out there actively hunting for meaning, you haven't found it yet.
There's always something getting in the way.
I think this idea of being "carried by life" is just a clunky way of putting it. We're all essentially drifting through existence, but true happiness comes from those who accept both the struggles and the triumphs without question, seeing them as inseparable parts of the journey. People like that don't have time to sit around complaining...

bluemason3 said:Does this kind of spiritual "achievement" imply a psychopathic or manic level of fearlessness, or is it something more clinical, like Urbach–Wietheov disease? 😳
Fear is a vital survival mechanism, just like hunger. It exists because we need it to stay alive. Too little fear leads to dysfunction, much like chronic anxiety does, and a total absence of fear is usually a symptom of a very serious medical condition. Temporary modulation might be useful—like dosing soldiers to get them through a messy job—but as a permanent state, being fearless is both bad and dangerous.
That said, I’d say moderate (hypo)maniacs (there are certainly more intense, cult-driven manic types out there, though they probably lack the self-control required for high-level guru manipulation) and psychopaths tend to dominate the field of spiritual teachers. So, that’s likely what people mean.
No, it isn't about fearlessness, especially not in a psychopathic sense. Achieving a complete lack of fear is impossible; every man experiences fear, as it is a fundamental part of the human condition.
A passage from the Tao Te Ching describes a person who has seen through fear. This doesn't mean they have eliminated it, but rather that they are aware of it. If they need to act or fulfill a duty, they will do so despite the fear. They feel the emotion, but they recognize it for what it is, refusing to let it tether them or dictate decisions when they know what is right...

Give intermittent fasting a shot. Basically, you fast for about 16 to 18 hours and then eat all your meals within a 6 to 8-hour window. It’s an effective way to drop weight because it pushes your body into ketosis, where you start burning fat for fuel instead of carbs, while also giving your insulin receptors a chance to reset...
For example, you could just eat between noon and 6 p.m.

What your friend has embraced is conscious suffering. There’s a purpose to it, which sets it apart from the random, mindless misery we often struggle against without any control...
Conscious suffering drives personal growth because it's the only thing that actually forces a person to do the Work. If you don't recognize the flaws in the life you're leading, or if you can't see why transformation is necessary, you'll just stay stuck. It's as simple as that.
Ultimately, a person can only perceive as much as their current state allows. Eventually, they might find their way...

I get the sense that a few people here have painted this guy as being deeply depressed or even suicidal. Honestly, I don't think that's quite right. He isn't more depressed than the average person... he just sounds disillusioned.
That’s just one side of the coin; he needs to find the other.
Someone who has focused intensely on their own niche interests, seen how the gears turn behind the scenes, can't just unsee it. You can't help him the way you're imagining. He has to find his own way through, just like the rest of us. It's exactly what he said: how can he be expected to help someone else if he hasn't figured himself out yet?
It makes sense why he’d avoid seeing a psychiatrist. After all, what is the point of psychiatry? To force a perspective back into socially acceptable boundaries. But he doesn't want to go back there, and frankly, he probably can't. There's a paradox in sending every deviation from the norm to a doctor—who gets to decide what the "true" perspective actually is?
The search lasts a lifetime, but if he keeps looking, he'll find it eventually...

Left Hand Path spirituality

Amy Bennett said:Maybe, but I’m just commenting on the posts I’ve seen right here. I’ve seen Yakuzza around before; he’s basically like an old friend. I don't really get why you're bothering me with this.Well, you might be right about some things, but for most, you’re wrong—like with Ryan Wilson2.
Sure, he’s labeled a "Satanist," but that isn't what people think Satanism actually is.
Don't forget, you once told me I was spreading "Luciferian poison" 🤣—basically saying you detected Satanism in me, too.😈
Right, because Satanists are definitely lovely people, and I’m just clearly oblivious to it.
I remember telling you that, and I still feel the same way. You have your moments where you're alright, but the issue is your syncretism. One thing is certain.
99% of Christians, including yourself, have a totally caricatured view of what Left-Hand Path followers are actually about.
Not at all; they have a perfectly accurate description. The Left-Hand Path essentially boils down to rejecting God as the Absolute—it’s an attempt to unseat God from His throne in order to put man in His place. It settles into breaking moral norms and religious dogmas because, for them, man is the measure of all things. That’s why they seem so hazy, arbitrary, and chaotic—they ultimately promote disorder and a lack of reason. Catholics don't have a wrong impression of those people. If they have any misconception, it’s probably just that Catholics don't have a bad enough impression of Left-Hand Path followers regarding the total degeneracy we see today.
These people are subversive elements that society needs to be purged of. They are dangerous, not just on their own, but because of everything they touch. That’s why, among other things, they never produce anything truly good. Societies are built on the Right-Hand Path—the "true hand," as people might say in certain circles. Members of the Left-Hand Path are nothing more than parasitic subversives. This is because they are in conflict with the Truth, in conflict with Reason, and in conflict with everything that comes from God. Consequently, their movements can never build anything lasting, because they follow chaos, and chaos is evolutionarily maladaptive. Death and fire are their eternal fate, because they have rejected the very source of life.Just because someone thinks differently than a Christian or doesn't care for Christianity—doesn't make them a Satanist. 🧐
But honestly, that logic is flawed—and that goes for Christians who aren't Catholic, too.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a good team, whereas the New York Yankees are a subversive organization that society needs to be cleansed of and shut down permanently.

Laptop recommendations under $400?
in Laptops ·
Hi there
I'm looking for a laptop under $933 to handle basic web browsing, Office work, and watching movies or media.
15.6-inch screen
Full HD resolution
An SSD plus an optical drive (which I plan to swap out for an HDD)
I don't need macOS pre-installed. Ideally, something with decent sound quality. I was looking at a Dell 320.
Or maybe this HP.
This one doesn't have an optical drive—if there isn't a drive, how would I go about adding an HDD? Also, since it's an Intel Core i3, I assume it performs better than an Intel Core i3 or other current processors.
Do you think I can find something meeting these specs within my budget?

Cold showers: Any benefits?
in Health ·
Even after two years, those cold showers still suck, but I push through those few minutes because the payoff is incredible. My focus sharp려ens and my energy levels just soar. Of course, it isn't for everyone... but it really just comes down to habit.
I’m currently on day 70 of NoFap, and I’ve already seen plenty of benefits—I actually wrote a detailed breakdown about that in another thread.
This summer, I practiced approaching people a few times, and it actually worked. I felt like I knew exactly what to say in different situations. Granted, things were more relaxed since I was out on vacation at the beach, but it was still a win for me, considering how much I used to avoid talking to strangers just a couple of years ago. I still deal with occasional anxiety, though it's become quite rare.
I'm also planning to get back into the gym soon. It's been a few months. Between that, studying Spanish, and finishing up my degree, I'm trying to stay proactive. Procrastination and laziness—which I used to blame on low testosterone—really cost me a few years of my life.
I also fast on specific days; once every two weeks, I do a 36-hour fast, which gives my testosterone and energy levels a massive boost.
It looks like you've realized the benefits of these habits early on. You're only 19, so keep it up...

Heart issues/cardiac concerns
in Health ·
I dealt with a high heart rate and palpitations, along with constant fatigue, too. However, once I started fasting, my rhythm stabilized by the second day. No more skipping beats, and I just feel much better overall.
When I talk about fasting, I mean a total fast—nothing at all except water. By the second day, the hunger pangs actually vanish once you burn through your glycogen stores and hit ketosis. Usually, I do a 5-7 day stretch twice a year, plus a single one-day fast every couple of weeks...
I’ve lost about 26 pounds, and honestly, I'm in great shape now. My stamina is up, and my digestion and metabolism seem much more efficient.
I wanted to reach out after seeing you were having issues right after eating; I thought sharing my own experience might be helpful.

Testosterone levels
in Health ·
The whole idea stems from the claim that testosterone levels peak after six or seven days of abstinence, but I honestly don't see the point. It isn't a realistic scenario, nor does it reflect actual sustained testosterone levels.
Basically, if you want to measure your testosterone relative to your actual lifestyle, just make sure you get a solid night of sleep beforehand without any jarring alarms waking you up...

Jason Ward69 said:Three months ago, my cholesterol was around 7.5 and triglycerides were at 5.1. I decided to go on a semi-diet—cutting out canned goods, bacon, heavy fats, and all that. But yesterday, the results came back just as bad... cholesterol is at 6.5 and triglycerides are over 16... what should I do next?
It’s actually been proven that high fat intake isn't what spikes your cholesterol and triglycerides. It’s usually an excessive amount of carbohydrates and refined oils that prevents the body from properly utilizing fat stores. You likely cut out the fats but ended up eating way more carbs instead.😵
Honestly, bacon is better for you than those processed oils.😁
Basically, bread and other starchy foods tend to hurt your cholesterol and triglyceride levels much more than dietary fat does.
I used to have cholesterol and triglycerides sitting around 5, but once I adjusted my diet, things improved significantly—cholesterol dropped to 4.2 and triglycerides to 1.7.
I also drank quite a bit of dried nettle tea; that might be worth looking into as well...
