Republican Party - General Discussion in Political Scene ·
Emily Smith6 said:Former Republican Party official arrested. Suspected of rigging multi-million dollar contracts

Željko Fadljević has been taken into custody. He’s one of the former directors from the Louisiana Lottery and joined the Republican Party last year.

Apparently, Goran Puklin owns three houses in Washington, D.C., plus a vacation home on the coast. I guess you could say he’s quite the recipient of generosity; he secured three of those properties through lifetime care agreements, and one was simply gifted to him.
The FBI claims they found $700,000 in his apartment last year, which they suspect is illicit cash belonging to Dragan Kovačević. During the investigation, Puklin maintained that the money actually came from an aunt of his, and he just happened to be keeping it in his basement.
He was arrested today under suspicion that he used his former position at the Louisiana Lottery to rig public tenders worth millions.
It’s almost funny, in a dark sort of way, that the FBI thinks a man who is apparently so beloved that people just hand him houses and millions of dollars—all while being a member of the Republican Party—could somehow be capable of committing a crime.

I’ve seen this before—people seeing where the money is, how fast they can climb the ladder, and then joining the party only to immediately start working on their little schemes and thefts.

Even Mistijin's son built this massive, modern villa using money from his job at VK; apparently, according to his neighbor, he also got a huge windfall from an aunt living over in Germany. 🙂 🤣

Quoting:
Joe Biden's local county official and his son, who happens to be the head of the local FEMA office, gathered with a few other folks at their usual hangout spot in Mobile this past Saturday. Naturally, the police showed up and broke the whole thing up.
The absolute clowns from the Republican Party are out in full force.😁

Did he seriously just shout "let's go, let's go!" right at the camera? 😂

What a total loser.

But let's get back to the point. We're trailing behind Romania, and Bulgaria is catching up because of the Democrats who have been running the show for ages. Since 2000, practically, with the sole exception of that one high-performing administration where the economy actually breathed for a second, it's been the same story.

Just wait until we finally swap out the Democrats after twenty years; you'll see how the country wakes up. We don't need a miracle, just to replicate that one successful term and actually follow through on those policies for four years straight.

So, who are these supposed "geniuses" who are going to lead us onto the right path?

People are basically tethered to jobs they might have landed solely because of their ties to the Republican Party. They’re living in constant fear of losing everything. That was the sentiment shared by Miro Kovač hahaha.

Haha, give me a break! Nobody got those positions through the Republican Party; everyone there is actually qualified for what they do. 🤣

Has anyone here ever tried making something like this?

Thanks! 😁

I haven't pushed it hard at all. What really blows my mind is how consistently warm it feels from both the top and bottom. It doesn't heat up excessively at all! 👍

Just keep in mind that it doesn't come with an SSD or extra RAM in the box you get from 😉. I ended up buying 4GB of 1600MHz RAM myself and swapped in an old hard drive from a previous build. It runs totally flawlessly, but like I said, my usage isn't exactly high-end 🙂

I'm looking for something for basic "home" use too—no gaming or intense workloads for me. I love how little space it takes up! Does this thing have a built-in fan for cooling, or is it passively cooled?

What kind of workload are you throwing at it? How does it hold up when things get heavy? I’m actually looking into getting one myself—the price on Amazon is honestly hard to beat right now.

Personally, I’m really digging the whole Chromebox concept.
http://promos.asus.com/us/chrome-os/chromebox/

Let's say we're looking at a setup for standard home use—nothing heavy like gaming or intense photo/video editing. We're talking web surfing, music, movies, Microsoft Office, PDFs, burning DVDs, printing, scanning, that kind of stuff. How do those little Celeron chips actually hold up in these tiny machines? Are they truly up to the task for everyday "home chores"?
I’m really digging the concept of a tiny, whisper-quiet little machine (specifically talking about the NUC or similar small-form-factor builds). What would you say is the absolute bare minimum specs needed for smooth, everyday multitasking? I'm thinking things like browsing with both Mozilla and Opera open at once, running Winamp in the background, downloading torrents, occasionally popping into Word or Excel, and playing back some MKV movies.

Kyle Davis6 said:Just some standard UTP cabling. ☕

To be more specific, I’m really trying to nail down the exact pinout for the cable running from the injector to the device itself. From what I’ve gathered while digging around online, certain pairs in the cable are actually dedicated to delivering power to the unit. I definitely don't want to mess up the wiring and end up frying my Associated Press.

Kyle Davis6 said:What exactly are we looking at with these Kalbovinje setups? ☕

I’m talking specifically about the cable running from the injector to the Associated Press. I’m assuming it’s just a standard LAN cable connecting the computer's LAN port directly to the LAN input on the injector.

And what’s the deal with the local cable manufacturers?

I just picked up this injector (fingers crossed it works out!):

Now I just need to grab a power adapter and some cabling. Does anyone know how much wattage or amperage I should be looking for in an adapter?

Has anyone here in this great community had any hands-on experience with this specific Associated Press unit? I actually just scored one as a gift, but it came totally bare—no cables, no mounting hardware, nothing else included.
What kind of gear am I going to need to get this thing up and running? Thanks so much in advance for any help you can give me!

Hey everyone! So, I'm looking at my options here—should I go with the Radeon 4850 or the 4870? I definitely need a quick sanity check on this one before I pull the trigger. Also, does anyone know if there are any other smart picks out there that I might be overlooking?

For my brother:

Looking for a PCI-E graphics card

PC build specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core at 2.61 GHz
RAM: 1.5GB DDR2
PSU: Logitech 460W
Monitor: Dell. He’s probably playing at 1024x768, but don't quote me on that—I'm not really sure if he runs things on low, medium, or high settings.
He used to have an NVIDIA GeForce (256-bit, 256MB DDR3), but it finally kicked the bucket. Right now, he's just getting by on integrated graphics.
He mainly plays Madden NFL 12, Football Manager 2012, and Madden NFL 12.
Budget is up to $100, though he could potentially stretch to $17 if needed.
Does my brother have any hope of finding something decent for around $300 (maybe $350) in this market?
Thanks!
