Bands to watch out for * The Spores in Music ·
So I just read that Stephen Merritt is gay—which honestly makes total sense given how incredible those love albums he puts out are 😵

Still, I can’t stop thinking about that time my buddy nearly trashed his entire R.E.M. collection after Sitpica came out about his own orientation 😁

*edit: I bet Merritt had a blast hanging out with Bob Mould and Marc Almond during that The 6th project

(dedicated to Mars Volta)

in the darkness of a ratified fallacy
against stenographic minor keys
democratic Christians demystify the rallentando cephalic void
inspectors devour imaginary visualized hapax legomena through correction
a tourniquet drips from the theatergoer’s ear
vomiting retrobulbar taxonomic scripts
reality crawls through cosmolitic pores
the noctambulistic fistula becomes viscous
through Trojan palaces soaked in colodion
asbestos biotypes darken their minds
revising the process of toxicopathic decisiveness
stealing their proskinesic sense via defenestration

The verse-driven debut "Spirit of the Heartland," by young analogharbor442, is essentially a manuscript attempting to leap from the position of decentralized poetic scraps into the margins of two highly significant—yet overused—poetic "models" in modern American literature: first, the poetry of linguistic experience, and subsequently, the new textualism. It is, quite frankly, a manuscript that falls into an intermediate mess of literary script due to its chaotic and incoherent flow, returning to alternative music genres what those genres once borrowed from literature. The semantic concreteness of this poetry, obvious even in the title ("Got any cash?"), points the reader directly toward the author's aggressive confrontation with his own shame and existential poverty—he’s thirsty, and he needs money for a beer. That’s it. No fluff, no pretension, no deep metaphors here.

The somnambulant allure of this postmodernist palimpsest is undeniable. However, we mustn't forget that the American Midwest has produced several exceptional musical poets in the past. Whether this kid will stand alongside legends like Bob Dylan or Neil Young is irrelevant, because with his raw poetic directness and almost aggressive nihilism, analogharbor442 has inadvertently revised the metaphysical way we remember his predecessors. In fact, with lines like "...toxicopathic decisiveness / stealing their proskinesic sense via defenestration," he might have already surpassed them.

Will the deconstruction imposed by this writing find a positive reception among readers? Will this work successfully trigger an asbestos-like resistance to alcoholism in the audience—since the author himself clearly failed at it—or will we all just end up with "beer begging syndrome"? We'll see. At least until the latest cognitive theories from Dr. unknown, that influential researcher from the Linguistic Institute, are confirmed—suggesting that deconstruction is actually a serious infectious disease of the modern world, and beer merely exacerbates the contraindications for its cure.

Until then, my advice: avoid the deconstructivist analogharbor442 and just listen to Mars Volta. 😬

Maybe we had a bit of a misunderstanding here 😉

I was actually saying that Gary Glitter got busted several times over the last decade for pedophilia—he's basically rotting in a cell right now because of it. Word is he got caught when he took a computer in for repairs, and they found a massive stash of illegal photos on there and reported him. 🤣

For the gay crowd (or anyone else who isn't stuck in the past), I’d suggest checking out Jobriath 👍

She totally sold us out, didn't she?

Yup—rented it out to the owner of that local 7-Eleven to open a pizza joint.

Prosciutto and arugula pizza—now that's the real deal. 😍

Man, if that's the case, they'll have no choice but to hire a massive squad of three times the usual Security Guards for that concert in St. Louis 😳

The guitarist looked like he walked straight out of Skripac—wearing this obnoxious yellow sweater with red polka dots, some half-drunk looking red plaid pants, and these weird white sneakers. And the girl at the party? Total mess—curly hair, an ugly red face, and covered in breakouts.

That’s basically how Kaj and Vatroslav look. 😬

If I ever run into someone else who actually gives a damn about The Last Butterfly Game:
I'm gonna marry her—assuming she's actually a woman!
Thinking about coming out as gay—if you're a guy—is a hell of a thing to wrap your head around. 😬

And honestly—I gotta add that I'm totally into the band too! In Skripac—just absolute chaos. 😁

I saw them live in Indianapolis over twenty years ago—the whole damn crowd was just chanting at the guitarist: "Peder! Peder!" 🤣

They threatened to shut the whole concert down a few times—seriously—but they ended up pulling it off anyway. 🙏

New Year's—another year down the drain, honestly. Just one more cycle of the same old nonsense.
And now they're coming...

Damn, that song was such a massive hit—I really should've made it to the concert. ☕

🤔

I actually got invited to a music video launch for this huge American rock band once—total accident because I happen to share a name with the director. 🙂

But honestly, I still can't help you out with this one. image

Hands down the most insane phone request I've heard on WNBC so far.

1. Some guy named Tomislav just called in asking them to play Waste Management 😂

The DJs were totally stumped—they had no clue who that was—until the host finally realized he probably meant someone from "ash" 🤣

Basically, the dude was looking for an alternative to Coldplay...

That kid wearing the Ramones shirt—is that seriously what you guys think I look like?

Like I said in my previous post, I thought 🙂

they filmed some guy from way off in the distance—all I could really make out was his t-shirt and that artsy little beard he had😁

but I swear, that UFO segment was on the news and it was actually a pretty long feature👍

There's an old American proverb that goes:

A barking dog never catches the steak. 😁

Personally, nothing beats rabbit liver—it's the best thing out there.🙂

If anyone actually wants the recipe, shoot me a DM—assuming this messaging system even works anymore.😕

Just saw a little segment about Lollapalooza 2006 on the news during lunch 😍 👋

Even a few of you guys from the forums popped up on screen 🙂

I’m pretty sure I spotted Kevin Chavez3 🙂 hanging out with some girl—they were both rocking Ramones t-shirts 😁 👍

My "never heard them before" list of bands that absolutely blew my mind today:

1. The Beatles - Marijuana Americana
2. The Pattern - Sunned Things Speak
3. Sahara Hotnights - Alright Alright
4. Har Mar Superstar - Power Lunch
5. Low Flying Owls - Looks of a Killer

It's a total tragedy—I downloaded this stuff over a year ago and I'm only just getting around to listening to it now.😕
