They told us it wouldn't happen until after all the formalities were cleared—you know, the school testing and the doctor's visit. So, we're looking at sometime next spring, I guess.
I gave them a call. To prove it was actually me, I had to rattle off my last few credit card transactions—roughly how much they cost and where I bought them
Amy Cruz8 said:I started school back in '92. About half my class skipped religion classes, but then there was this parent-teacher meeting where they basically "explained" to everyone that if the kids didn't attend, they wouldn't be able to have a church wedding later on—or some other scare tactic, I can't quite recall since it was so long ago. Most parents eventually gave in, leaving only three or four of us who actually opted out. After that talk, even the kids from the local minority families signed up for the classes. 😁
I started that same year. My whole class took religion classes from first through eighth grade. We all did First Communion. If I remember right, maybe just one person skipped Confirmation.
Jason Vaughn482, I'm not entirely sure, but when I went in for a glucose check, my OBGYN mentioned that finger-stick readings and venous blood draws don't always match up. Apparently, testing directly from a vein gives you a different picture. And yeah, stress can definitely spike your blood sugar. It happened to me once.
Grumpy 🙂 is giving me so much stress I've actually lost weight. The constant typing. Usually, my stomach is fine, but now it's a complete disaster. Then there's the insomnia. Never had a problem sleeping in my entire life. Plus, I didn't bother buying those high-waisted maternity briefs, so now they're just teasing me—my current ones keep rolling down and getting in the way. 🙂 And just for the record, adding the Grumpy tag again. 😠
Mom took a CBC, checked her iron levels, and did a fecal occult blood test. My mom's CBC looks fine, but her iron is sitting at 4 (normal range is 8-30). Her TIBC and UIBC are both elevated too.
The catch is that all three stool tests came back positive for bleeding. Looking back, we realize she should have followed specific prep instructions—certain meds shouldn't be taken for seven days beforehand. She’s been taking Andol100 every single day. Could that be what's throwing everything off? She isn't feeling any symptoms, but her doctor sent her in for a full physical.
Some guy at Walmart actually let me cut the line last weekend just because I only had three items in my cart. 🙂 It’s funny how things work out sometimes.
On a different note—and this is driving me crazy—everyone at the office today kept commenting on how small my bump is. And I mean almost everyone. 🙂 Yeah, it’s smaller than my first pregnancy, but I also didn't gain as much weight, so everything is perfectly fine. Still, apparently, everyone expects me to be absolutely massive. 🤷
I’m honestly getting pretty fed up. I feel like I’ve been fighting this cold for six weeks straight now. It started with a scratchy throat, then the congestion hit, back to the throat, and now I’m stuck with this dry, relentless cough. I’m actually starting to worry if all this coughing is going to cause some issues further down there. And then there's the bladder situation. You know how it is—if I sneeze too hard or get caught in one of those coughing fits, I end up leaking a little bit.😠
True, though I suspect it’s actually the other way around more often. Or at least, it sounds louder 😁
My little one slept through the night starting at three months old. Being well-rested was a massive advantage for me. That’s why I’ve always stayed quiet when people talk about sleep-deprived moms and babies who won't settle—I just don't know what that life is like for everyone else. I can't help but wonder what's coming my way next 🤦
So, a friend of mine is struggling big time right now. These last two weeks have been brutal. She’s nursing every hour or so, and she actually only got about two hours of sleep one night because the baby was dealing with constant cramps. Her husband is working overtime, too, which hasn't helped things lately. She told me that once the little one finally crashes, she just sits there wondering if she should run to the bathroom, hop in the shower, or grab something to eat. Between that, there's laundry to do and the house needs tidying up every once in a while 😁 when she actually manages to catch a nap . Everything seemed fine during those first few days—they felt like they had it all under control.
Babies are unpredictable. It honestly feels like moms who have "easy" babies don't get it, or maybe they just don't want to. They act like if you're struggling, you're somehow failing at motherhood. But that's just not how it works.
I’ve been poked and prodded about my stomach enough today to last through this entire pregnancy. 🙏najper: I was at work handling some site visits, and then my father-in-law and his girlfriend dropped by too.
I’m only 23 weeks along, and honestly, my bump isn't even showing much yet.
It’s hard to dodge the comments, and I hate being the person who ruins everyone's excitement—though, let's be real, some people actually care and others... well, meh. 🙈
Does anyone know where in NYC I can get a fructosamine test done privately? Do private labs handle this? I can't seem to find it on any of their search tools online.
I checked my chickenpox antibodies My VZV IgG came back positive, at 12. Anything over 11 counts as positive, while anything under 9 is negative.
Does this mean I'm actually immune? And does it matter that I had this test done last year? Could antibody levels really drop that much in a single year?
The thing is, I'm pregnant, and there's an outbreak going around my kid's daycare, so I'm pretty worried...
My doctor was pretty adamant about it—she said if we're actually looking into insulin resistance, they really need to run that two-hour insulin test. It sounds like they skipped over that part for you.
They didn't put me on it until we actually started trying to conceive. I stopped taking it right after giving birth, then started back up again once we decided we wanted another kid.
