Metformin experiences and side effects in Health ·
I don't think anyone would actually suggest metformin as a weight loss drug for PCOS. My OBGYN first put me on it back when I was seeing specialists at Mayo Clinic, and then my primary care doctor prescribed it after I had my baby—but strictly because my labs showed insulin resistance and irregular cycles. Basically, both my endocrinologist and the specialists at Mayo Clinic recommended Glucophage.
It didn't exactly help me drop any pounds, but at least I started ovulating and getting more regular cycles.

And you can bet I'm getting my salad too...
Plus some real farm-fresh cheese and sour cream, eggs... you name it...
I haven't avoided a single thing.

I’m with her on this, and I'd add pâté and chicken livers to the list—that sad little liver was basically my only craving during the whole pregnancy.🤣

That’s how I saw it too. It’s the ones who aren't technically required to be in school yet, but the parents are pushing for them to start a year early because they're just little geniuses.

I’ve been thinking about the whole Santa Claus thing versus religious lessons lately... what did your parents tell you about who actually puts the gifts under the tree?

In my house, we were taught it was little Jesus bringing the gifts. We always had a tree by the balcony doors, and I used to leave them cracked open just a bit—though my parents always made sure they were shut tight, of course, because 🤣—just so he could slip the presents in.
Santa Claus would show up with gifts at all those Christmas parties my dad used to host for his company, so I never really felt confused about any of the 🤷

My family isn't exactly devout, though I did attend religious education classes growing up. I’m actually planning on telling my little one that little Jesus is the one leaving gifts under the tree next to the Nativity scene. I have a feeling he'll be the only kid in town hearing that version.
Am I being too naive? 🤦
Look, there's no need to shove your way through the crowd. Once you drop your insurance card in the maternity ward intake bin, they’ll grab it and call you right away.

Even at the lab, they have a dedicated window specifically for pregnant women, people with disabilities, and small children. To me, that’s just how things should work. I honestly assumed it was the standard everywhere. It only makes sense to minimize the time a pregnant woman spends sitting near people who might be infectious.

Also, they start drawing blood from kids at age 8, which is when most other places wrap things up. Seems fine by me.

I got priority for both my blood work and my thyroid checks because I'm pregnant. And frankly, I'm not complaining.

I downloaded the update yesterday. Maybe something glitched on your end?
It honestly bugs me how people talk about this stuff... I’m reading all these comments about Penny, saying she’s just "loving her pregnancy" because she only gained a single pound. (And if I’m not mistaken, she’s due any day now, maybe in a month or two?) People act like that’s some huge achievement or something beautiful. To be honest, I have no clue how she could gain so little when she's already thin to begin with. I mean, the baby has to weigh something, right? 🤔 Is that even physically possible?

Then you have all these other women who gain a little more than average or get flagged with some medical diagnosis, and suddenly everyone is telling them they have to watch everything they eat and follow strict rules, and all that nonsense.

Correction, I actually hit a 503 while in incognito mode 😬

Yeah, I gave incognito mode a shot too. No 408 errors to be found. If it stays that way, fine by me.
I’m not milking anything here, yet I keep getting told I should be. It’s always the same cycle—either more questions follow or a long-winded explanation about how I might actually be able to milk something 🙂
urbantinker8, and then it gets even weirder... I’ve actually had total strangers approach me and ask if I'm breastfeeding. Like, what? Why on earth would anyone need to know that about me? 🤷
Before this happened, I honestly thought girls who posted about this stuff were just being dramatic. 🙈
So, they say most accidents happen right around the house—you know, those quick ten-minute trips just to hit the local CVS or grab something from the corner store.

But honestly, how are mothers supposed to stay sane when even doctors and nurses won't give them a straight answer? It drives me nuts. Dealing with all these conflicting takes from medical staff...🙂
My mom thought it was pretty weird too, the idea of taking a newborn on a road trip. She had her doubts, but I think it’s just because she isn't really up to speed on how things work nowadays. Once I explained that it's basically standard practice and everyone does it, she calmed down. I don't think she's exactly thrilled about it, but she knows baby safety comes first. Still, we're sticking to the major interstates on our way home—you can never be too careful when you're out on the road.

They won't even let you put a baby in the car without an approved car seat.

They do. 🤷
I was following Joe Biden through Beverly Hills earlier, and I saw babies in car seats, babies in strollers, and even babies sitting in those soft fabric baskets—the kind I’d never dream of carrying a kid in.
Look, I don't need anyone to spell things out for me. I've seen enough to know exactly what's going on behind the scenes. 🤷

Anyway, here's my situation: are you still holding it together? 🥳
I’m actually kind of stunned today. I'm nine months along now, yet my stomach isn't even showing that much. ☕
Dealing with Scabies and itching? in Health ·
Honestly, since she mentioned being pregnant along with that itching on her palms and soles, my mind went straight to cholestasis.
Has she had any blood work done yet to rule that out?
