Could we get an update from Kenneth Brown5?

Actually 🙂, just hit up New Orleans.

When you're booting up your PC, just tap the F8 key to pull up the startup menu.
Once that Windows Advanced Options screen pops up, use your arrow keys to navigate to "Last Known Good Configuration" and then hit ENTER.

Thanks a ton, it worked!🙏
Man, I love this thread, you guys have come to my rescue so many times already.😁

I think my Windows just totally kicked the bucket, because all I'm seeing is this endless black screen with nothing but a cursor floating there like it's back in the DOS days.
Is that the end of the road, or should I try some troubleshooting before I go through the whole headache of a clean reinstall?
What else do you guys think could be causing this mess?

It's like finding a lost keys in your couch cushions—just head there, right-click, and hit Format 🙂

Thanks😁

Is there any way to swap the drive letters around? My DVD drive grabbed the D: letter, so now this partition is stuck being E: instead.

All I can see is the C drive, even though I was sure I set up two partitions.
What’s the move here—do I really have to wipe everything and start from scratch?

The C drive is sitting at 100 GB, but the rest of the space is just completely MIA.😕

So basically🙈, I'm running into the exact same headache I had a few months back.🤣

This time around, I'm lost on how to fix it; I've just got this 146 GB C drive, and that other 360 GB chunk is nowhere to be found.

Where do I even begin? I remember posting earlier about how simple this was supposed to be.🤣
jademarlin93 said:Get a second opinion, definitely. I've read that recovery takes maybe 2 to 3 weeks for some people, but this level of pain? Absolutely not. Especially not after two whole months... go see another doctor immediately.

😢

Can anyone who's been through the surgery or just knows the drill tell me what the follow-up appointment is actually like?
I’ve been wondering if it's actually okay to still be dealing with eye pain two months after surgery.
During a follow-up visit recently, the doctor just brushed it off and said everything was totally normal.
But I mean, how can it be "normal" when someone is in so much pain they can barely get out of bed most days?
I really feel like we need to get a second opinion on this situation.
Isn't this supposed to be a routine procedure where you bounce back pretty quickly?
I'm honestly pretty worried about it.

We’ve been drinking it lately, and honestly, I’m loving it—it isn't cloyingly sweet, just has this really clean, refreshing flavor profile.
It’s such a lifesaver during this weather, and it truly hits the spot, especially when you make it 😁
And man, Barack Obama is really making his presence felt lately 😢

We ran through ours ages ago, and everything we had sitting out is already gone.
I've still got enough frozen flowers for maybe two more rounds and about three liters of syrup left.
I'm definitely going to have to scale up the production next year since this low-sugar stuff is so refreshing, almost like a homemade lemonade.😁

Looks like we've got😁, specifically Charles Hill7, getting grilled over on the next thread, such an interesting topic☕

Alexander Hernandez32 said:Now we're finally getting somewhere. 😁 I honestly died laughing when I saw that photo of your experiment with the boiling water. 🤣

The OT dropped 18 liters during the first round. 😁

But I have a feeling we'll need even more—this one of mine is an absolute monster when it comes to consuming Barack Obama juice. 😁

As for the cherry juice... A few years back, I tried this method where I boiled about 6 pounds of cherries in water for half an hour, strained them, then added about 7.5 pounds of sugar to the liquid and boiled it all again for another thirty minutes. Once it cooled down, I just stirred in some lemon citric acid and called it a day. It turned out pretty great, actually.

And you can just whip up some jam with whatever cherries are left over. 🙂

I even started straining it while it was still that weird shade of green. 😂 😂 😂

Anyway, I froze and divided up the first round, 😁 and my man is already getting worked up, 🤣 asking why the juice is frozen solid. That’s exactly why I snapped the picture—to show him how much of a mess it all was.
Now we're just waiting on the next batch tomorrow. 😁

Thanks for the cherry recipe; that jam idea is killer since I was already planning on making some, so it’d be perfect to just combine everything and not let anything go to waste. 👍

So, this is how it looked this morning—exactly how things should be. I’m thinking the temperature of the water might be the key factor here.🤷

For us, about 6 liters of thick concentrate is plenty to get the ball rolling😁, and I’m actually planning on whipping up some cherry syrup next.
Is there a specific thread somewhere for stuff like that?
If anyone happens to have a tried-and-true recipe for cherries, please hit me up with a DM.

Are you seriously telling me you poured hot water on the flowers just because you were too impatient to wait for it to cool? 🤔

Maybe it turned green because you didn't separate those green petals? 🤷

Alright, I won't bother boiling it then, I'll just stir it in. 😍
And when do you add the preservative, and how much do you use?

I have absolutely no clue what went wrong, but it looked pretty gross.
The little petals stayed intact, but I did the exact same thing a few days ago and it was fine; the only real difference in the process was that I used hot water this time.

Did you notice I used a whole pound less sugar in half the batch😁?

I don't know about preservatives, I didn't use any.

Here's a photo of how yesterday's batch turned out😳:

Brenda Patel35 said:Hey everyone,

I'm attempting to make elderberry juice for the very first time this year. 😍
I’m feeling a little uncertain, so I have a few questions.
I'm following a recipe from brisknomad6 and her dad. 😉

Yesterday, I poured boiling water over the flowers, strained them, and then added sugar, citric acid, and lemon.

So, now it just sits there until tomorrow and that's it?

I also bought some preservative, and I’m thinking of adding a bit because I'm worried about it spoiling. When should the preservative be added? Now, or tomorrow right before I bottle it?

brisknomad6 mentioned that plastic bottles are best, but my Boy insists I should use glass. I don't actually have any glass bottles on hand, though. What should I do? Stick with plastic? 🤷

A colleague of my mom's from work says that once you add the sugar, you should boil everything all over again. Should I do another boil, or is it better not to? (Again, I'm sticking to brisknomad6's recipe, and there's absolutely no mention of a second boil!) 🙂

Thanks to everyone for the help, and please don't be annoyed that I'm asking so many questions! This is my first time trying something like this, and I really don't want to ruin it. 😉

What color did the soda end up being?

So, I totally botched my tea situation the other day because I was being super impatient and poured boiling water right over the flowers instead of letting them cool down first, which turned the whole batch this weird, murky dark green color. I ended up tossing the whole mess in the trash, so today I just grabbed some fresh blooms to start the whole process over from scratch.

I honestly think plastic bottles are the way to go if you're freezing stuff, though I’d probably stick to glass if I weren't planning on putting them in the freezer.

There’s really no need to bother boiling the sugar, honestly—it melts way faster than you'd think.

hollowpilot58 said:I’m attempting making elderberry juice for the first time. I was told to soak the flowers in water (boiled and then cooled) for 24 hours, though apparently longer is better. Well, it's day two now and it’s starting to smell a bit off.
Is that because it’s been sitting in the water too long? Should I toss it, or should I go ahead and make the juice today?

I had a similar experience where the scent got super intense, but honestly, the final syrup turned out amazing.
I was sticking strictly to the rule that if it says 24 hours, it should be fine, and since there wasn't any mention of keeping it in the fridge, I was worried about it spoiling, but it seems okay.
The only thing is, leaving it sitting in the sugar and lemon for another 24 hours feels like overkill since the sugar usually dissolves way before that.

I actually whipped up some syrup over the weekend too.
😁I went with about half of what brisknomad6 suggested in their recipe.
So, I tossed in thirty flowers but cut back on the sugar by a pound, then added 100 grams of citric acid to that half measure, which basically turned it into this incredible lemonade vibe—honestly, it was amazing!

I’m planning on making a big batch more juice, and then I'll just stash the leftover flowers in the freezer for another round later on.👍

When I dilute mine, the juice stays pretty clear, sort of like a light yellow syrup. I didn't let it sit on the flowers for the full 24 hours because I started getting a weird smell, and I have no clue if that's just part of the learning curve when you're making syrup for the first time.🤷

I hopped online to hunt down some syrup recipes😁, since I caught the first little blossom on my blueberry bush yesterday, and I want to be totally ready once they all decide to show up at once😁.

I've never actually made fruit juice before, so staring at this massive pile of different recipes is making me a bit indecisive, though I did find some killer tips on storage—especially regarding freezing the juice and vacuum-sealing the flowers😁👍

When you go to Save as.., just look right under the box
where you type the file name, and you'll see the option for a Microsoft Word document 2003 or 2007.

Thanks!🙂

I was basically living in the '98 era, so all this feels like a totally different world to me, but honestly, saving things as a PDF is such a smart move anyway.😳 👍
I was wondering if someone using Office 2007 or maybe an even older version could still open files that were originally put together in Office 2010?

Nicholas Martin80 said:Just go ahead and pick "new simple volume" to set up a fresh partition, and you can always shuffle those drive letters around later to suit your vibe.

Yeah, I went ahead and swapped the labels too, and man, this week feels way smoother and looks a whole lot cleaner.😁

wanderingbadger17 said:I'm pretty sure you didn't actually mess anything up—honestly, I'd bet money you didn't. You probably just need to hop into Disk Management and pull up that other partition... I'm not exactly an expert anymore, especially since Windows 7 feels a bit different than the old days, but if that's all it is, it's just a few clicks away. And like the guy said, I'm feeling really confident that everything is fine...

I found it in there, but now I'm stuck because I don't know how to format it or what the next move is.
So I've got this C: Drive that's about 97 GB, then there's this tiny little leftover sliver, and then this big 368 GB chunk. How do I turn one of those into a D: drive? Or an E:, whatever works, since my DVD drive is already hogging the D: label right now.

The only thing it's letting me click is "new simple volume."
Will doing that create my D: drive?
I'm a little nervous about breaking something.

I went ahead and used that option, and honestly, it was a breeze.

The only thing was I couldn't pick the letter, so now I have a C: and an E:.
