I mean, I was totally fine with losing points when someone called Mike a complete scumbag, but is calling Fernando Alonso a crybaby really the same thing? Or saying Kimi Räikkönen’s liver is failing? It’s obviously not the same thing. Honestly, it feels like they just hand out cards and point deductions whenever they feel like it, and I'm pretty much over this whole selective enforcement nonsense. It’s a total circus, and you're right—the mods are the ones running the show here.

Don't take it too personally, maybe just try to find the fun in all this chaos.
Maybe it's just my weird sense of humor, but I actually find some of these trolls pretty entertaining.

How did this whole thing turn into such a complete circus? 🤦
I mean, people are actually acting offended just because someone let an F1 driver have it a little bit verbally. It’s honestly pretty wild if you think about it.

steelmaker83 said:I mean, I was actually thinking the same thing regarding Kimi Räikkönen. He’s basically barely winning anything, yet he’s always hovering right there in the mix, which is just wild when you think about it. It’s not even totally impossible that he somehow stumbles into another title, though if that actually happened, I guess we’d all have to start looking into some kind of paranormal activity or something...

I suppose you really can outdo yourself sometimes. I get the feeling you’re not exactly a fan of Kimi Räikkönen, but man, throwing out nonsense like this...
Just imagine—this guy somehow ends up with the most points in the longest season ever, despite driving a car that isn't exactly a rocket ship and not really dominating races, and then he just happens to walk away with the championship.
That would be pretty incredible, I guess.

stormybadger8 said:Regarding that whole Alonso vs Kimi mess, I mean, the stuff they're spinning on ESPN... there'll probably be some YouTube footage popping up soon to clear it all up. But honestly, from what they're saying and looking at the clips, Kimi isn't even remotely at fault, at least according to their narrative...

And now you're over there acting like you've got all this high-level expertise, pulling in virtual data, satellite imagery, and whatever other fancy nonsense some random amateur can dig up. It's pretty much elementary school level stuff, if you ask me.
😬

...sorry in advance... I just couldn't help myself...

Well, I guess at least we have that one thing in common...

Roger Wright94 said:I guess it’s gotta be that Max, Pila, and I were all watching the race in some weird parallel universe or something. 😁 I mean, just curious, is there anyone else around here who’s totally clueless besides the ones already mentioned?

Look, I mean, it doesn't necessarily have to be some whole parallel universe thing or whatever. Just think about it—Sunday morning, all those little unhinged maniacs running around without any filter... I guess it could just go that way.
😁
Roger Wright94 said:Not really at that time, I guess.
I mean, he’d already gotten past Alonso, right? And then you've got that corner coming up with that really tight little squeeze on the track... I guess things just started getting messy there.
And please, don't even try telling me he’s pushing him off the track. I mean, sure, he's definitely shoving him, but it's not like he's forcing him out of the racing line or anything. That's the whole point, I guess.

I think you’re blowing things way out of proportion. The reality is that Alonso just went for it, lunging hard toward Kimi's side of the track—honestly, he even had to jerk the wheel a bit because of Button. I mean, expecting Kimi to just slam on the brakes while he was already halfway off onto the grass... that seems kind of crazy to me. If anything, if it had been Kimi who pulled a move like that, the fallout probably would've been even worse.

Roger Wright94 said:I mean, am I just being dragged by the tongue here, business-wise or whatever?
Nah, I think I've already hit my limit, I guess.

Man, I don't know, you acting like you're all worked up over nothing... I mean, was it really that big of a deal? Like, were you actually getting that stressed out over the number of yellow cards or someone losing their cool and swearing? I guess maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but it felt a little intense.
😁
Edward Howard2 said:Look, I’m just gonna say it—I really don't have the energy to get into a heated debate at this level... I guess I'll just sit this one out. 🙂 👋

🤦
Look, I’ve seen a few posts floating around here already where people are pointing out that Sky, the BBC, and even ESPN have basically all reached the same conclusion—that the incident wasn't on Kimi's part. Honestly, a good chunk of us here seem to agree with them too. But then you and a handful of other Alonso fans just keep insisting on a totally different story. I mean, hey, it’s fine to have your own take, and it's perfectly legitimate to disagree, but it really makes me wonder... were we all even watching the same race? It feels like maybe you guys are just refusing to see what everyone else is seeing right in front of them, or, I don't know, maybe your eyesight isn't quite what it used to be?
Whatever level we're talking about, I guess it doesn't really matter.
🤷
Roger Wright94 said:So, when people say Kimi was actually slowing down, I kind of just take that as a joke, I guess.

I mean, for God's sake, why on earth would Kimi need to slow down in a situation like that? They’re running wheel-to-wheel, and honestly, it looks more like Alonso is just shoving him right off the track!

Raymond Anderson4 said:...that whole thing with Matt Damon was a bit unsportsmanlike, I guess, but whatever happens, happens.

I mean, when Kimi says he just doesn't care about anyone else, or if he stays quiet after pulling some crazy stunt on the track, everyone calls him this arrogant jerk, or a total tool, or an ego-driven prick...
But then when Alonso pulls that kind of crap regarding his own teammate, suddenly it’s just... well... maybe a little unsportsmanlike, but you know how it goes.

I mean, the season is just incredibly long, you know? Everyone goes through those inevitable highs and lows. I guess Alonso has put together a massive amount of great races, though he definitely caught a few breaks when other guys had bad luck.
There is still so much left to play out, probably way too much to be making any final calls this early on.
2012 Japanese GP (Suzuka) - Oct 7th in Formula 1 ·
Edward Howard2 said:I mean, if you ask me, Kimi is the one at fault here because he basically tried to force his way through a gap that just wasn't there, which was pretty reckless if you think about it. That turn is super tight, and once Kimi realized he didn't have enough momentum to clear it before the corner—especially seeing Jenson Button looming on Alonso's right side—he really should have just backed off a bit. Instead, he decided to go full tilt and head straight for the wall, just hoping for the best, I guess. Honestly, Alonso had every right to hold his line since there was zero chance Kimi was going to make the pass, and Kimi hadn't even gained enough ground to force Alonso to move over or give him space on the inside. So yeah, Kimi basically caused the collision, but personally, I don't think he deserves a penalty. It happened right at the start during that first turn, and he isn't exactly the type of driver who's always out there causing chaos like this, though I suppose plenty of other drivers have already been slapped with penalties for being just as stubborn or overly optimistic as he was.

So, I guess even the big-shot F1 experts have finally agreed that Kimi isn't the one to blame here, which is something, I suppose. But honestly, you just know the usual suspects on these random message boards are going to start acting like they’re the ultimate authorities on the sport, probably trying to tear down everything we know about modern racing with their supposed "expertise."
🙏🙏

darkmarlin16 said:I mean, honestly, I think the championship is basically a lost cause at this point, and man, it’s just a real shame that it's going to be Sebastian Vettel left holding the bag.

I guess you guys have already started with... 🙂 I mean, there’s still a whole bunch of stuff left to play out, I guess, and besides, Felipe Massa basically proved that the car isn't quite as bad as everyone was making it out to be... maybe.

Raymond Anderson4 said:there aren't even any hidden hints where you're supposedly implying that.

Oh, believe me, they were there. But I guess that’s kind of the whole point of this debate right here. We’re just out here being blunt about how Alonso is basically a big baby and a total prima donna, while you guys are all over the place with your sort of vague little insinuations ...

Roger Wright94 said:Man, I am just absolutely livid with this Lotus crew. Is there anyone else here who actually has a brain?
First you’ve got that total predator who clearly hasn't learned a thing, and now today we have this absolute clown getting the championship leader knocked out in the very first race.
I mean, what was Kimi even thinking trying to force it down the left side today? He was obviously slower. Like, what was going through his head, if anything at all?
And Alonso was just clinical. Pure perfection. He wasn't pushing him; he was just faster, and there was simply no room on the right because the track narrowed up. Kimi just caught some spray once Alonso had already pulled way ahead. I don't see a single millimeter of error there. I'm just fuming. Honestly, my head is spinning.

Look, I really do feel for people who go all out rooting for their favorites, I truly do, but maybe a tiny grain of objectivity wouldn't hurt you guys. Between Alonso aggressively hogging the left side, forcing Kimi off into the grass, and then that twitch when Button was on his left...
For crying out loud, this isn't some private testing track in Detroit where everyone is supposed to move out of his way.

Michael Lee4 said:Well, I don't know if that's entirely true... he actually got into a bit of a scrap with Lewis this morning right after he pulled out of the pits, and I guess he just blinked first to avoid hitting him.

See, that’s actually what I wanted to touch on. Both of them were driving like absolute maniacs, pushing it to the limit, but nothing actually happened because Kimi somehow managed to wiggle out of it at the last second. I mean, even though he's hunting for points, he's still technically in the mix for the title, theoretically speaking.
2012 Japanese GP (Suzuka) - Oct 7th in Formula 1 ·
I don't really know how to start this one, I guess, but there's just something about the way things are moving lately that feels... I don't know, weirdly predictable? Maybe I'm just overthinking it, which I probably am, but I've been sitting here thinking about it all morning while drinking my coffee, and it just seems like we're circling the same drain we were in back in the day. It’s funny, actually, because you’d think with all the tech and the noise, we'd be somewhere entirely different by now, but I suppose human nature doesn't change much, even if the scenery does. Anyway, just some random thoughts drifting through my head, I guess. kaže:
I'm watching RAI right now, and honestly, they’re acting like total drama queens about everything. But I guess they've already started chilling out because they finally realized Raikkonen isn't the one at fault here.

I mean, I guess you could say nothing really carries any weight when it comes to Jalons and his little crew of printers, if you want to get technical about it. 😁.

Raymond Anderson4 said:I don't find him funny anymore...
There’s basically a whole army over at ESPN just bowing down to whatever he says or does.
And honestly, he’s gotten kind of cranky lately... especially during interviews, where he tries to talk like a regular person, I guess. Look, if he doesn't want to do interviews, fine, but he doesn't have to make it so incredibly obvious, like it's written all over his face.
It's the same thing now with how he just didn't care that everyone else had to slow down through the turn because he went off track... I'm not saying he needs to go out and cry about it, but maybe just say: it was an accident, I didn't mean to, sorry to the guys for forcing them off.
I mean, I think he should probably stop constantly trying to push the idea that he just doesn't give a damn about anyone else...

Alright, I'll agree with most of what's been said here, but seriously, does he really need to apologize to the other drivers just because he went off?

Gary Smith66 said:I just wanted to point out how ridiculous it is to claim that Alonso swept the championship just because of "luck."
If we’re following that logic, then that same "luck" is what supposedly dragged Vettel right back into the fight during those last two races.

Yeah... I mean, F1 history is basically just one giant soap opera, isn't it? Who knows how much of it feels scripted sometimes.
But honestly, if Kimi pulls off a win tomorrow while Vettel, Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton all walk away empty-handed, we're probably looking at a brand new season-long thriller.
😬

Gary Smith66 said:So, I keep hearing all this noise about how Fernando Alonso's lead in the championship is just some stroke of pure luck, which is funny if you think about it... I guess people just love a good underdog story or maybe they just don't want to admit he's actually killing it lately. It’s like everyone wants to attribute his success to random chance rather than, you know, actual skill or whatever, though I suppose it's easier to say he just got lucky than to admit he's outperforming the field.🤣
I mean, what can you even say about Sebastian Vettel suddenly being back in the title fight? It’s kind of wild, I guess. With Lewis Hamilton's car basically falling apart after that last race, and now today, it feels like everyone actually standing a chance at winning is either facing some massive penalty or just had their entire qualifying session completely ruined because of Kimi Räikkönen. It’s all a bit chaotic, isn't it?🙏

I don't think I quite caught that, honestly. Maybe I missed something, or maybe my brain just wasn't on the same page, but yeah, I didn't really count them.
I wonder who actually managed to get lucky today... I mean, who was the one that ended up shredding Hamilton's Mercedes, or who's the person responsible for telling Kimi Räikkönen to just go eat a candy bar?
😕
2012 Japanese GP (Suzuka) - Oct 7th in Formula 1 ·
Grosjean will probably just pull off cleanly, while the rest of them fight it out on the track or through the pits.
Kimi is making this look way too easy, honestly, like he's already planning his march toward the championship title.
