First, you’re complaining because I called you out for claiming you can't label homosexuals as sick—and now, you're acting like the victim because you got flagged for implying they suffer from "Christianophobia." Just try to hold back on trying to diagnose everyone you encounter...
Since the entire political discourse here is constantly peppered with labels like communists, nationalists, or various other extremist slurs— I really don't see what the big deal is regarding my own posts.
hiddenbear3 said:Where specifically did I overstep enough to merit a penalty? She docked me 35 points just because I brought up farting—since she previously framed it as this universal concept—and honestly, I have a habit of telling my own family not to fart so they don't get annoyed, yet here she is, getting offended and calling me out for being upset about... well, that.
Anyway, forget about me for a second—what’s actually going to happen with the report I filed?
Is there anyone more authoritative than you moderators who can weigh in on this? It seems like you guys aren't even using the same set of rules, or is this whole thing just a formality to let people blow off steam before everything goes right back to business as usual?
Seek God and humble yourself; you aren't exactly following the other 612 commandments either.
Maybe try actually reading the Bible once in a while—you might find you're less of an obvious troll pretending to be a believer next time. It truly is a miracle how the mods haven't banned you yet, considering you've been trolling these threads for days on end.
Personally, I'm planning to report you to ADMIN..
Insulting other users would easily earn you a penalty for this. You’ve got plenty of points banked to cover a three-day suspension if you tried.
And you still haven't answered my question: how exactly do you know who gets penalized and who doesn't?
From what I can see, you really went overboard there and managed to walk away without a single penalty—so I honestly don't see any ground for you to call out Brenda Cook4 for calling out other users on different forums.
BTW, Nicholas King’s question is actually a fair one. How can you tell which of those deleted posts resulted in a strike and which ones didn't?
Anthony Perez9 said:Personally, I wouldn't change a single thing about the Religion subreddit. It’s clean, easy to navigate, and you don't have to wander through a million different sub-forums just to find what you need. There really isn't any need to insulate one specific branch of Christianity from all the others—unless, of course, they feel like they're facing some sort of "existential threat." 🤷
Maybe we should go ahead and separate the Pastafarians from the Flying Ravioli sect too...
I honestly don't think adding one more sub-forum would mess up the layout too much. Besides, it might actually help us clear out that massive pile of trending topics sitting right at the top.
Since this isn't actually a formal complaint—it’s more like a blatant excuse to be disrespectful toward the moderators—I’d suggest just shutting this down...
Hold on, I actually have to sit here and explain to you why you got flagged for a post where you were just commenting on the IQ levels of everyone who doesn't share your worldview? Seriously?!
After touching base with the admins, we’ve decided to pull that red badge from your profile. Just consider this a friendly heads-up—try to dial back the intensity and steer clear of those personal jabs and insinuations going forward.
Directly above me you'll find the administrators—and just above them sits the site owner—and ultimately, everything falls under the jurisdiction of the US federal court system. If you aren't satisfied with my decision, I’d honestly suggest you take your grievances up with one of them.
It feels more like trolling than an actual insult, but honestly, since it’s such intense trolling, this card felt like the right call. If you really want one, you can grab a 45-point trolling card in exchange for...
You’ll be back soon enough. We’re just moving a bit slow because of the holidays. Just one quick note here. Reddit—specifically the religion subforum—isn't a religious forum; it’s a forum *about* religion. In America, having a specific religious belief doesn't grant you any special status or extra protection here. You are perfectly free to criticize religious systems or even central religious figures. The only thing we prohibit is veering off-topic, especially by intentionally stirring up fights over highly emotional subjects. Lately, we’ve been working extra hard to minimize those kinds of provocations, but when it comes to the freedom to critique, nothing has changed. If you decide to come back, you’ll need to accept that criticizing things you personally hold sacred is a perfectly acceptable way to write here.
driftingfalcon3 said:Can someone please explain to me why my posts were deleted from the religion thread—specifically the one regarding Richard Dawkins and the illusion of God? My main point was this one:
What exactly about this post makes it incompatible with the topic? Is it possible that someone is receiving internal orders to subtly target a forum member just because they dare to challenge the philosophical worldviews held by certain moderators?
When does this madness end?
Your post is essentially an unpalatable blend of conspiracy theories and science denialism—it simply doesn't belong in that discussion. There is a dedicated creationism thread where you are more than welcome to post. You cannot hijack other topics to push that same agenda.
frozenowl3 said:But there really is a need to sanction posts that are outright insulting.
The community guidelines clearly state that insults aren't allowed,
I would just explain things nicely—that the people jumping in to play counselor weren't the ones who actually started the insults. Personally, this topic is just too depressing for me to keep reading, so I don't even open the thread anymore. There were a few times where I actually stooped to their level and fired back with an insult myself—if that's the case, feel free to give me a warning card too; I won't be upset about it.
And by the way, I’ve tried reading the Bible a few times, but I just found it too tedious—what am I supposed to do? Not everything can be found in the Bible.
If you happen to spot a post that doesn't follow the community guidelines, please just use the report button ( icon). It really helps us out—it makes those issues much easier to track down and address properly.
The first three posts haven't been archived because they aren't meant for the archives—even though that initial topic really should have been closed out already. Jacob definitely went overboard there. They weren't archived simply because I hadn't even noticed them until now; as far as I can tell, no one had actually reported them. I certainly hope you aren't expecting us to comb through every single post made in the religion subforum every single day.
If things don't fall apart—and if the US manages to pull ahead by leveraging its ties with the European Union—will the "No to the EU" crowd actually be held accountable for their massive miscalculations? 😉
By the way, you can actually fix this pretty easily if you're using Firefox. Just head into your settings, navigate to the advanced section, and make sure you check the box that says "warn me when sites try to redirect or reload."
