Your logic seems to be: "Well guys, he said it was taken out of context, and he would never lie. We should believe his word instead of the actual footage where he explicitly tells them to wire money to his account."

I’ve been in a relationship with someone just like you, OP. It was an experience I swore I would never go through again. Don't let him reach a breaking point where he makes that same vow. Either seek professional help or walk away—do it for his own sake. Personally, I'm leaning toward the latter because I'm not sure there's any other way out. I honestly don't believe even the best therapists could fix this kind of situation.
