Western Union in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Thanks, but it looks like the fee is $3.00 just to send an amount like $667?

I mean, what is that fee actually covering if you don't count the Federal Reserve's involvement? It feels like a pretty small $3.00 fee to me...

Hey, does anyone know what the Western Union fee looks like for sending a small amount over to Canada?
I'm planning on using a Mastercard credit card to send it, so I'm just trying to figure out how much the commission will eat up...
General Motors NASCAR suit? in Formula 1 ·
silverviper44 said:Looking at that last photo of the shoes with the SLR branding, I'm leaning towards this suit being more about the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren than anything related to NASCAR.

But how can we actually tell if it's NASCAR?

Can I find something similar on Amazon?
How does everything work on Amazon once I actually list an auction? If I end up hating the final price, am I able to just pull the whole thing back?

Nice job, it actually says right there it was made in 2003.

If you're talking about that Velcro waist strap, there isn't any branding on it. I wasn't under the impression this belonged to some NASCAR driver or anything; if it were, I definitely wouldn't have ended up with it. 😁

So, we're looking at a Ferrari suit, plus the helmet and sneakers... does the whole set really only go for a few hundred bucks? Like, everything together for maybe $75?

Or should I just list it for a higher price and hope a die-hard NASCAR collector happens to stumble upon it?

NASCAR experts, quick question. Does this suit, helmet, and sneakers actually have anything to do with NASCAR? I picked this gear up from General Motors over in Detroit.

Period and Menstrual Cycle Talk in Women's Health ·
Quick question 🙂

Back on October 19th, I had surgery to remove a cyst—laparoscopy. Before the procedure, my cycles were pretty consistent, usually hitting every 26 or 27 days, maybe 28 once in a while. Nothing crazy.

Right after the surgery, things got thrown off and my cycle was super late. My next period didn't show up until November 30th, which was about 39 days later, but honestly, I figured that was just expected given the surgery.

Now I’m waiting on this second cycle and... nothing. It's been MIA since November 30th. Since it's been more than two months since the actual operation, I'm a little lost on how to track this. Should I be counting from that last 39-day cycle to figure out when to expect it? Or should I be looking at my old 26-27 day rhythm? Because if it's the latter, I am seriously overdue...
Defendant vs. Witness? in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
I just found out that the defendant might also be testifying as a witness.

Does anyone know how I can skip this hearing? Like, what kind of evidence can I submit to get out of it? Honestly, I really don't have the mental energy to sit through all that listening and debating again. I tried calling my doctor to see if I could reschedule my appointment, but they couldn't fit me in anywhere else, so now I'm feeling a bit stuck on what else to try...

Maybe I could at least dodge this first hearing just so we don't have to face each other. Then, if they actually call me in again later, I'll just show up for the second one alone...
Defendant vs. Witness? in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
I have a question here, and if anyone actually knows the answer, please let me know...

Can the defendant also serve as a witness in a misdemeanor case?

Here is the situation. I was convicted under a statute regarding disturbing the peace. Basically, I got into a verbal altercation with my neighbor, but I was actually trying to step in and physically prevent a fight between him and someone else. The judge didn't seem to grasp that I was actually de-escalating a much bigger problem, and he handed down a ruling without even hearing from any witnesses. Since I was traveling outside the US at the time, my mom just went ahead and paid the fine for me, which obviously counts as an admission of guilt.

It’s been two years now. Now, that same neighbor—the one who started the whole mess—is appealing the verdict because he also got hit with a fine.

I just received a summons for a hearing to testify as a witness (likely so I can clarify what happened). In the top right corner of the notice, it lists both me and the defendant as parties involved, presumably because the fine was already paid.

I really just want to close this chapter and move on. I don't want to be explaining to my boss why I'm heading to court. Is there any way I can get out of testifying? How is it possible for the defendant to be a witness at the same time?

To clarify, there are three defendants: me, another person, and the neighbor. That other person and I already paid our fines, but since the neighbor hasn't, he appealed. Now, after two years, we’ve all been called back to court because of his appeal.

If I had been in the States when this first happened, I would have appealed too. It feels wrong that the person stepping in to break up a fight gets slapped with a misdemeanor charge themselves, especially when the judge issues a ruling without listening to the actual witnesses. And now, they want me to show up as a witness.

Please help. What can I write to the judge to request that I be excused from testifying?

Thanks.

Hey, so I'm trying to jump into my router settings at 192.168.5.1. It’s asking me for a username and password, but there’s this warning at the top saying "your connection is not private." Now it won't even let me get into the settings page at all. I'm a bit stuck on how to fix this. Any advice?
thanks

What do you guys think about this extra savings option at this bank? It looks like they have the highest interest rates for CDs right now. I’m wondering if there’s some kind of catch I'm missing here.

Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Here is the official response from the Federal Reserve:

Dear Customer,

First off, thanks for showing interest in our bank.

You don't actually have to be an existing customer or move your checking account over to the Federal Reserve just to apply for a credit card. The main requirement for approval is having been at the same job for at least 12 consecutive months.

The Federal Reserve gives you a choice between Mastercard and Visa (including Visa Classic, Visa Gold, and Visa). Their cards basically act as two cards in one—either revolving or charge—so you get to decide how you want to handle your spending. If you pay off the full balance on time, you won't be charged any interest.

You can set up an automatic payment for the card and choose whether you want to pay the minimum amount due or the entire balance. There are no enrollment fees or annual membership fees, and you don't need to buy extra insurance.

Along with all those perks, you'll also be part of the gold RBICA rewards program.

So, you hit the nail on the head. It’s really two cards in one, and the customer decides if they want to use it as revolving or charge.
It feels a little weird to me that since December 20th, they’ve decided there are zero annual fees for these cards, while other big banks like Chase or Bank of America are still charging anywhere from $120 up to $67 for a Mastercard.
They even scrapped the monthly maintenance fees for checking accounts too. Honestly, I have no idea what's gotten into 🙂
them.

Thanks for clearing that up. So, does that mean I can take advantage of those interest-free installment plans at places that offer them?
Also, it feels a little weird to me that they don't charge any sign-up fees or annual dues for the entire duration of the membership.
Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
In America, you’re always the one in the driver's seat!
Do you want revolving credit, a charge card, or maybe just split it into installments?
It’s your call: revolving, charge, or installments!
Think of it as two cards rolled into one—you get both revolving and charge features, giving you total control over how you handle your money;

- You can enjoy an interest-free grace period of up to 50 days if you pay off the full balance, or
- Just pay the minimum amount—which is 3% of your total balance (with a minimum of $50) or
- Pay off whatever chunk of the debt you can, letting you manage your repayment schedule based on what works for your budget!

There’s also the option for interest-free installment plans—for any purchase over $100, you can split the cost into 2 to 12 monthly payments, and you don't even have to decide until 30 days after the purchase

I just copied this straight from the Federal Reserve website.
So they basically offer both charge and revolving options, and I just tell them which one I want to use?
Quick question about credit cards in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, can I just ask the Federal Reserve to switch me over to a charge card? Basically, I don't want to deal with any revolving debt—I just want to pay off whatever I spend on my next statement right away.

I think it's actually the other way around—JPMorgan Chase doesn't offer something like that.
