Honestly, getting blood drawn stopped being a big deal for me back when I was a sick kid and had to go every single week... now I can actually watch the whole thing, except for that split second when the needle hits. The only real struggle is finding a vein—one nurse actually sent me to a different specialist because she didn't want to risk making a mess of my arm! 😁
I’ve been rocking my semi-rigid lenses for a few days now, and honestly, everything is awesome! My vision is crystal clear whether I'm looking up close or far away, and I don't have any annoying halos at all. It literally feels like I'm not even wearing anything!
Birth control actually totally fixed my cycle for me—no more of those killer cramps! Plus, I didn't gain any weight at all (honestly, I’ve even been dropping those old pounds). My doctor mentioned I had some tiny ovarian cysts, so he figured the pill would help clear that up too. Even my skin has been super clear lately! I mean, we're all built differently, and everyone reacts to the pill in their own way. You really can't just group us all together and say it works the same for everyone.
I was also using Rosetta Stone to stay clear... Basically, you start counting your cycle from day one of your period. I’m still a little fuzzy on when to jump in with the hormone stuff though...
I know last time I called the local clinic, they just told me to swing by once my referral was ready, so I grabbed it and headed over.
Now I'm a little confused—do I need to go in first to get officially registered before showing up for an exam with my referral, or can I just show up with the paperwork right away? I think I'll just stroll over to my doctor's office first to clear it all up.
I used to go to Baić, but I’m totally done with them—it just doesn't feel right anymore. My first pair of lenses from years ago was actually great, but last time I went in for glasses, they gave me way too strong a prescription! I literally can't wear them. Plus, his staff isn't really my vibe, so I decided it was time for a change.
I also tried out Getaldus once. Honestly, shopping there was such a headache because they didn't have any decent frames that weren't priced like they were for astronauts! And the people working there acted like they didn't even want to be there.
One more thing—do I need to check in with a doctor at the clinic first, or can I just show up with my insurance referral for the exam?
I stopped by Getaldus recently, and honestly, I wasn't feeling it... everyone seemed kind of rude, though maybe I just had bad luck 🤷
I remember seeing an old thread where someone recommended a specialist named Zolta over at the clinic in downtown Chicago, so I'm thinking about checking them out... I'd love to find a spot where I can handle both my glasses and contacts in one go, if that's even possible
On the other hand, my experience at Klaićev was actually awesome! It’s been a year since I was last there, though, so who knows 😁
I'm on the hunt for a really solid eye doctor in Chicago! I need to get checked out for some new glasses and maybe even try out contacts for a bit.
When I was a kid, I used to go to the clinic over on Klaićev, and then I saw a couple of other specialists later on, but honestly, I just wasn't feeling the vibe at any of them... Does anyone have a good recommendation?
I’ve actually dealt with this twice... once it was literally just an ingrown hair, and I managed to get it out. But the first time it popped up on my lower stomach, near my bikini line, where I don't even bother shaving 😁
I had this little bump that almost looked like it had a tiny opening. It was driving me absolutely crazy, so I started messing with it 😁 then it swelled up a bit, and when I poked it with a needle, this stuff leaked out—it wasn't really pus, more like clear fluid? For a few days, I kept squeezing it, but eventually, it healed up. Everything is fine now, though there's just a little dark spot left on my skin where it happened...
I seriously thought about heading to the doctor, but honestly, I felt kind of silly 🤷 so I just tried to figure out what I could do myself. I figured this was some super rare thing, but seeing everyone else talk, I guess it’s way more common than I thought Ugh, us 😁

Ugh, tell me about it! This month has been such a nightmare, I barely have time to wipe up... usually it slows down a bit after my shower, but this month it’s just non-stop madness, like it's doing it on purpose! I always make sure to use water or wipes when I change my pad. Honestly, I don't know how I'd deal with everything otherwise!
Ugh, well then I guess there's no point even getting ready to go out! 🤣 Seriously though, I'm heading straight to the shower now, totally defeated 😁
Regarding all those old wives' tales, I swear by just one—don't walk barefoot during your period (well, no slippers). My mom always told me that if I do, I end up with these crazy cramps
My mom used to tell me that back in the day, people thought you shouldn't wash your hair while on your period, but honestly, none of us ever took that seriously! I actually just started mine today and went straight to the salon for a wash 😁 and I’m totally fine so far 😛
I have no clue why that was even a thing... maybe because they didn't have easy access to hot water and stuff back then, so maybe the cold water had something to do with it? 🤷🤷
